A Letter to the Outfit in Ephesus
1 "To the angel of the outfit in Ephesus write this:
2 I've been watching you. There's nothing I haven't seen. Don't think I didn't see the hard rides and the patience through all the rough times. I saw you had nothing to do with wicked folks—the ones who claimed to ride for me, but didn't. You tested them and found them wanting. 3 You suffered greatly for me without quitting.4 But I do hold this one thing against you, you don't love me or each other like you did when you first saddled up. 5 Look how far you've slid down the mountain. Cinch back up and ride hard to get to where you were before. If you don't change your ways, I will take your torch away. 6 But don't get too discouraged. I will give you credit though, you don't like the sorry ways of the Nicolaitans any more than I do.7 Open your ears and pay attention to what the Spirit has to say to the seven outfits. To those who finish their hard ride for me, I will give freely to them the fruit from the tree of life that sits in the middle of paradise.A Letter to the Outfit in Smyrna
8 "To the angel of the outfit in Smyrna, write these words:
9 I know your terrible struggles and the poverty in which you've lived. Your poverty has made you rich with me. I have heard all the sorry things that have been said of you. They claim to be Jews, but their church belongs to Satan, not God. 10 Don't fret over the suffering that will happen soon. The devil will throw some of y'all in prison to test your courage. You will suffer for ten days, but if you remain faithful in the face of death, you will get the trophy buckle of life. 11 Open up your ears and listen to the what the Spirit says to the outfits of God. The one who remains in the saddle all the way until the end will not be hurt at all by the second death.A Letter to the Outfit in Pergamum
12 "To the angel of the outfit in Pergamum, write these words:
13 I know you live in the area where Satan has his throne, but you have remained loyal to my brand. None of you denied riding for me, even when Antipas, my trusted cowboy, was killed where Satan resides.14 But don't go patting yourselves on the back just yet. You say nothing even though some around you teach things like Balaam did. He showed Balak how to get the people of Israel bucked off. He told them it was okay to eat food sacrificed to idols. He said there was nothing wrong with committing sexual sins. 15 Y'all have some Nicolaitans around y'all doing these same things. 16 Quit keeping your mouth shut. I've about had enough of them. If they don't stop it, I will put them to the sword of my word.17 Open up your ears and listen to the what the Spirit says to the outfits of God. To the one who stays in the saddle until the end, I will give the manna of heaven. I will also hand them a white stone with a new name inscribed on it that only they will understand.A Letter to the Outfit in Thyatira
18 "To the angel of the outfit in Thyatira, write these words:
19 I have seen the great things you've done. I've seen your love and faith, service and fortitude. You are doing more now than you did in the beginning. That's riding for me!20 But there is one thing I need to point out, you've let Jezebel have free rein. She calls herself a prophet and teaches my cowboys to have nasty sexual relations and even eat food that was sacrificed to false gods. 21 I've given her enough rope to get herself out of her sin, but she refuses. She's going to use it to hang herself with. 22 The adulterous bed she lies in will become her suffering. Even those who come to her bed will suffer unless they turn from their sorry ways first. 23 Her children won't even survive. This will be a sign to all the outfits that I know the hearts and minds of all. Nothing is hidden from me and each will get what they deserve.24 To the rest of y'all in Thyatira who've not fallen for her treachery and the devil's lies, I'm not going to make things any harder on y'all. 25 Y'all just take a deep seat and screw your hat down until I get back.26 To all who finish the long ride with me, I will make them straw bosses over all the nations. 27 They will rule with a metal-handled quirt and smash them like glass jars.28 They will have the same power as I got from my Dad and I will even give them the morning star.
