Simplified Cowboy Version
2 John 1
1 This letter is to my crew and their families from your jigger boss, John. I think the world of all of you. And it's not just me. Anyone who knows what truth really means knows who y'all are.
2 This is one of our goals, to know the truth and ride in it always.3 Here's hoping the Boss and his Son will shell out mercy, grace, peace, love, and truth on us all.
The Truth
4 It means the world to me that many of y'all are willing to ride in the truth just like the Boss told us to.
5 If we do that, then I know we are taking care of each other. This isn't some shocking new revelation. It's been part of our code since the beginning. 6 Taking care of each other means we are doing what God said. He's repeated himself over and over and over. Look out for each other and watch each other's backs.7 There's been a lot of counterfeit cowboys passing through claiming that Jesus wasn't a real man. Don't listen to these fools. They are enemies of Christ.
8 Watch your backs so that you don't get bushwhacked by silly notions and foolish opinions. Don't lose what you've ridden so hard to get.9 You've got to stay right with Jesus. Many people get excited and start adding stuff to what he said. These people are riding in front of the Boss and it ain't going to be pretty when they are called out on it. You stay right with the Boss and his Son and they'll stay right there with you.
10 If someone comes through your gate with a message other than the Father and the Son, send them packing. Don't even wish them well as they go. 11 Anyone who wishes someone well that spreads lies becomes an accessory to the evil they do.Last Words
12 I've got a lot more to say, but I don't want to do it with a pen. I hope soon to see y'all in person. We'll all look forward to that.
13 All your neighbors here said to tell y'all hello.
