I am counted among those who go down to the pit;I am like a man without strength,
I am reckoned among those who go down to the pit; I have become like a man without strength,
I am counted as one of them that go downe vnto the pit: and I am nowe become a man that hath no strength.
I am reckoned with them that go down into the pit; I am as a man that hath no strength:
I am counted with those who go down to the pit; I am like a man who has no strength,

People already treat me like a dead man, like someone too weak to live.

Fre amoge the deed, like vnto the yt lye in the graue, which be out of remembrauce, and are cutt awaye from thy honde.

I am numbered among those who go down into the earth; I have become like a man for whom there is no help:

They treat me like those who descend into the grave. I am like a helpless man,
I am as good as dead and completely helpless.
For I am oversupplied with troubles, which have brought me to the brink of Sh'ol.

For my soul is sated with troubles, and my life draweth nigh unto the grave.

O Lord , God of my salvation, I cry out to you by day. I come to you at night. 2 Now hear my prayer; listen to my cry. 3 For my life is full of troubles, and death draws near. 4 I am as good as dead, like a strong man with no strength left. 5 They have left me among the dead, and I lie like a corpse in a grave. I am forgotten, cut off from your care. 6 You have thrown me into the lowest pit, into the darkest depths. 7 Your anger weighs me down; with wave after wave you have engulfed me. Interlude 8 You have driven my friends away by making me repulsive to them. I am in a trap with no way of escape. 9 My eyes are blinded by my tears. I am counted with them that go down into the pit,.... With the dead, with them that are worthy of death, with malefactors that are judicially put to death, and are not laid in a common grave, but put into a pit together: thus Christ was reckoned and accounted of by the Jews; the sanhedrim counted him worthy of death; and the common people cried out Crucify him; and they did crucify him between two malefactors; and so he was numbered or counted with transgressors, and as one of them, Isaiah 53:3.
I am as a man that hath no strength; for his "strength" was "dried up like a potsherd", Psalms 22:15, though he was the mighty God, and, as man, was made strong by the Lord for himself.
Barnes' Notes on the Bible
I am counted with them that go down into the pit - I am so near to death that I may be reckoned already as among the dead. It is so manifest to others that I must die - that my disease is mortal - that they already speak of me as dead. The word “pit” here means the grave - the same as Sheol in the previous verse. It means properly
(1) a pit,
(2) a cistern, Genesis 37:20,
(3) a prison or dungeon, Isaiah 24:22,
(4) the grave, Psalms 28:1; Psalms 30:4; Isaiah 38:18.
I am as a man that hath no strength - Who has no power to resist disease, no vigor of constitution remaining; who must die.
