They answered, "Some people say you are John the Baptizer. Others say you are Elijah. And some people say you are one of the prophets from long ago that has come back to life."
They answered and sayd: Iohn Baptist. Some saye Helyas. And some saye one of the olde prophetes is rysen agayne.
They answered, "'Yochanan the immerser,' but others say, 'Eliyah,' and others, that one of the old prophets is risen again."

"John the Baptist," they replied; "but others say Elijah; and others that some one of the ancient Prophets has come back to life."
And thei answeriden, and seiden, Joon Baptist, othir seien Elie, and othir seien, o profete of the formere is risun.
And they answering said, John the Baptist; but others say, Elijah; and others, that one of the old prophets is risen again.
They replied, "Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, that a prophet of old has arisen."
They answered, "Some say that you are John the Baptist or Elijah or a prophet from long ago who has come back to life."
And they answering said, John the Baptist; but others say, Elijah; and others, that one of the old prophets is risen again.
And they, answering, said, John the Baptist; but others say Elijah; and others, that one of the old prophets has come back.

They answered and say to him, Juchanon the Baptizer; and others that (thou art) Elia; but others that a prophet from the former prophets hath arisen.
They answer and say to him: John the Baptizer; others, Elijah and others, a prophet, one of the ancient prophets arisen.
They answering, said, Iohn the Baptist: but some say, Elias: and others say, that one of the old Prophets is risen againe.
"Well," they replied, "some say John the Baptist, some say Elijah, and others say you are one of the other ancient prophets risen from the dead."
They said, "John the Baptist, but some say Elijah. Others say that one of the early preachers has been raised from the dead."
They answered, "John the Baptist; but others, Elijah; and still others, that one of the ancient prophets has arisen."
They answered, and sayd, Iohn Baptist: and others say, Elias: and some say, that one of the olde Prophets is risen againe.
They answered and said to him, John the Baptist; and others, Elijah; and others that one of the old prophets has risen.

They answered, “John the Baptist; others, Elijah; still others, that one of the ancient prophets has come back.”

They answered, and sayde: They saye, thou art Ihon the baptist: Some, that thou art Elias: Some, that one of the olde prophetes is rysen agayne.

"Some say you are John the Baptizer," one of 'em said. "Others claim you are Elijah or one of the other great cowboys of God from long ago."
They answered and said, "John the Baptist, and others say Elijah; but others, that one of the prophets of old has risen again."

Gill's Notes on the Bible
They answering said, John the Baptist,.... This was the opinion of some who thought that he was risen from the dead, as in Luke 9:7.
but some say Elias; the prophet, and the Tishbite; who according to the Jewish notion, was to be the forerunner of the Messiah, so in Luke 7:8.
and others say: that one of the old prophets is risen again; thus were they divided in their sentiments about him.
