Psalms 97

   |

Remember His Holy Name

1 (C1)Yahweh (F1)reigns, let the (C2)earth rejoice;
Let the many (C3)coastlands be glad.

2 (C1)Clouds and thick darkness are all around Him;
(C2)Righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne.

3 (C1)Fire goes before Him
And (C2)burns up His adversaries all around.

4 His (C1)lightnings light up the world;
The earth sees and (C2)trembles.

5 The mountains (C1)melt like wax at the presence of Yahweh,
At the presence of the (C2)Lord of all the earth.

6 The (C1)heavens declare His righteousness,
And (C2)all the peoples see His glory.

7 Let all those be ashamed who serve (C1)graven images,
Who boast of (C2)idols;
(F1)(C3)Worship Him, all you (F2)gods!

8 Zion (F1)heard this and (C1)was glad,
And the daughters of Judah have rejoiced
Because of Your judgments, O Yahweh.

9 For You are Yahweh (C1)Most High over all the earth;
You are exalted far (C2)above all (F1)gods.

10 (C1)Hate evil, you who love Yahweh,
Who (C2)keeps the souls of His holy ones;
He (C3)delivers them from the hand of the wicked.

11 (C1)Light is sown for the righteous
And (C2)gladness for the upright in heart.

12 Be (C1)glad in Yahweh, you righteous ones,
And (C2)give thanks for the remembrance of (F1)His holy name.
