God Judges with Equity

¹ We ^(C1)give thanks to You, O God, we give thanks,
For Your name is ^(C2)near;
Men recount ^(C3)Your wondrous deeds.

² "For I select an ^(C1)appointed time,
It is I who ^(C2)judge with equity.

³ "The ^(C1)earth and all who dwell in it ^(F1)melt;
It is I who have firmly set its ^(C2)pillars. ^Selah may mean Pause, Crescendo, Musical Interlude">(F2)Selah.

⁴ "I said to the boastful, 'Do not boast,'
And to the wicked, '^(C1)Do not raise up the horn;

⁵ Do not raise up your horn on high,
^(C1)Nor speak with insolent ^(F1)pride.'"

⁶ For one's rising up does not come from the east, nor from the west,
And not from the ^(F1)(C1)desert;

⁷ But ^(C1)God is the Judge;
He ^(C2)puts down one and raises up another.

⁸ For a ^(C1)cup is in the hand of Yahweh, and the wine foams;
It is ^(C2)full of His mixture, and He pours from this;
Surely all the wicked of the earth must drain and ^(C3)drink down its dregs.

⁹ But as for me, I will ^(C1)declare it forever;
I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.

¹⁰ And all the ^(C1)horns of the wicked I will cut off,
But ^(C2)the horns of the righteous will be raised up.
