The King Trusts in Yahweh

¹ O Yahweh, in Your strength the king will ^(C1)be glad,
And in Your ^(F1)salvation how greatly he will rejoice!

² You have ^(C1)given him his heart's desire,
And You have not withheld the request of his lips. ^Selah may mean Pause, Crescendo, Musical Interlude">(F1)Selah.

³ For You ^(C1)meet him with the blessings of good things;
You set a ^(C2)crown of fine gold on his head.

⁴ He asked life of You,
You ^(C1)gave it to him,
^(C2)Length of days forever and ever.

⁵ His ^(C1)glory is great through Your ^(F1)salvation,
^(C2)Splendor and majesty You bestow upon him.

⁶ For You make him ^(F1)most ^(C1)blessed forever;
You make him joyful ^(C2)with gladness in Your presence.

⁷ For the king ^(C1)trusts in Yahweh,
And through the lovingkindness of the Most High ^(C2)he will not be shaken.

⁸ Your hand will ^(C1)find out all your enemies;
Your right hand will find out those who hate you.

⁹ You will make them ^(C1)as a fiery oven in the time of your ^(F1)anger;
Yahweh will ^(C2)swallow them up in His wrath,
And ^(C3)fire will devour them.

¹⁰ Their ^(F1)offspring You will destroy from the earth,
And their ^(C1)seed from among the sons of men.

¹¹ Though they ^(F1)(C1)intended evil against You
And ^(C2)devised a scheme,
They will not succeed.

¹² For You will ^(C1)make them turn their back;
You will ^(F1)aim ^(C2)with Your bowstrings at their faces.

¹³ Be exalted, O Yahweh, in Your strength;
We will ^(C1)sing and praise Your might.
