Psalms 2
The Reign of Yahweh's Anointed
1 Why do (C1)the (F1)nations rage
And the peoples (C2)meditate on a vain thing?
2 The (C1)kings of the earth take their stand
And the rulers take counsel together
(C2)Against Yahweh and against His (F1)(C3)Anointed, saying,
3 "Let us (C1)tear their fetters apart
And cast away their cords from us!"
4 He who (F1)sits in the heavens (C1)laughs,
The Lord (C2)mocks them.
5 Then He speaks to them in His (C1)anger
And (C2)terrifies them in His fury, saying,
6 "But as for Me, I have (F1)installed (C1)My King
Upon Zion, (C2)My holy mountain."
7 "I will surely tell of the (F1)decree of Yahweh:
He said to Me, 'You are (C1)My Son,
Today I have begotten You.
8 'Ask of Me, and (C1)I will surely give (C2)the (F1)nations as Your inheritance,
And the (C3)ends of the earth as Your possession.
9 'You shall (F1)(C1)break them with a (F2)rod of iron,
You shall (C2)shatter them like a potter's vessel.'"
10 So now, O kings, (C1)show insight;
Take warning, O (F1)judges of the earth.
11 Serve Yahweh with (C1)fear
And rejoice with (C2)trembling.
12 (F1)Kiss (C1)the Son, lest He become angry, and you perish in the way,
For (C2)His (F2)wrath may (F3)soon be kindled.
How blessed are all who (C3)take refuge in Him!
