Yahweh Takes Pleasure in His People

^1 (F1)Praise Yah!
Sing to Yahweh a ^(C1)new song,
His praise ^(C2)in the assembly of the holy ones.

² Let Israel be glad in ^(C1)his Maker;
Let the sons of Zion rejoice in their ^(C2)King.

³ Let them praise His name with ^(C1)dancing;
With ^(C2)tambourine and lyre let them sing praises to Him.

⁴ For Yahweh ^(C1)takes pleasure in His people;
He will ^(C2)beautify the afflicted ones with salvation.

⁵ Let the ^(C1)holy ones exult in glory;
Let them ^(C2)sing for joy on their beds.

⁶ Let the ^(C1)exaltations of God be in their throats,
And a ^(C2)two-edged ^(C3)sword in their hand,

⁷ To ^(C1)execute vengeance on the nations
And punishments on the peoples,

⁸ To bind their kings ^(C1)with chains
And their ^(C2)honored men with fetters of iron,

⁹ To ^(C1)execute on them the judgment written;
This is the ^(C2)majesty of all His holy ones.
