My Soul Reaches for You

¹ O Yahweh, hear my prayer,
^(C1)Give ear to my supplications!
Answer me in Your ^(C2)faithfulness, in Your ^(C3)righteousness!

² And ^(C1)do not enter into judgment with Your slave,
For ^(C2)no one living is righteous in Your sight.

³ For the enemy has pursued my soul;
He has crushed my life ^(C1)to the ground;
He ^(C2)has made me inhabit dark places, like those who have long been dead.

⁴ Therefore ^(C1)my spirit was faint within me;
My heart was ^(F1)(C2)appalled within me.

⁵ I ^(C1)remember the days of old;
I ^(C2)meditate on all You have done;
I ^(C3)muse on the work of Your hands.

⁶ I ^(C1)stretch out my hands to You;
My ^(C2)soul reaches for You like a weary land. ^Selah may mean Pause, Crescendo, Musical Interlude">(F1)Selah.

^7 (C1)Answer me quickly, O Yahweh, my ^(C2)spirit wastes away;
^(C3)Do not hide Your face from me,
Or I will become like ^(C4)those who go down to the pit.

⁸ Cause me to hear Your ^(C1)lovingkindness ^(C2)in the morning;
For I trust ^(C3)in You;
Cause me to know the ^(C4)way in which I should walk;
For to You I ^(C5)lift up my soul.

^9 (C1)Deliver me from my enemies, O Yahweh,
I have concealed myself in You.

^10 (C1)Teach me to do Your will,
For You are my God;
Let ^(C2)Your good Spirit ^(C3)lead me on level ^(F1)ground.

^11 (C1)For the sake of Your name, O Yahweh, ^(C2)revive me.
^(C3)In Your righteousness bring my soul out of distress.

¹² And in Your lovingkindness, ^(F1)(C1)cut off my enemies
And cause all those who assail my soul to ^(C2)perish,
For ^(C3)I am Your slave.
