Give Heed to My Cry

¹ With my voice to Yahweh, I ^(C1)cry aloud;
With my voice to Yahweh, I ^(C2)make supplication.

² I ^(C1)pour out my complaint before Him;
I declare my ^(C2)distress before Him.

³ When ^(C1)my spirit ^(F1)was faint within me,
You knew my path.
In the way where I walk
They have ^(C2)hidden a trap for me.

⁴ Look to the right and see;
That there is ^(C1)no one who regards me;
^(C2)A way of escape has been destroyed from me;
^(C3)No one cares for my soul.

⁵ I cried out to You, O Yahweh;
I said, "You are ^(C1)my refuge,
My ^(C2)portion in the ^(C3)land of the living.

⁶ "^(C1)Give heed to my cry of lamentation,
For I am ^(C2)brought very low;
Deliver me from my persecutors,
For they are too ^(C3)strong for me.

⁷ "^(C1)Bring my soul out of prison,
To give thanks to Your name;
The righteous will encircle me,
For You will ^(C2)deal bountifully with me."
