Psalms 108

He Will Tread Down Our Adversaries

A Song. A Psalm of David.

1 (C1)My heart is set, O God;
I will sing, I will sing praises, even with my glory.

2 Awake, harp and lyre;
I will awaken the dawn!

3 I will give thanks to You, O Yahweh, among the peoples,
And I will sing praises to You among the nations.

4 For Your (C1)lovingkindness is great (C2)above the heavens,
And Your truth reaches to the skies.

5 (C1)Be exalted above the heavens, O God,
And Your glory above all the earth.

6 (C1)That Your beloved may be rescued,
Save with Your right hand, and answer me!

7 God has spoken in His (F1)holiness:
"I will exult, I will portion out Shechem
And measure out the valley of Succoth.

8 "Gilead is Mine, Manasseh is Mine;
Ephraim also is the (F1)helmet of My head;
(C1)Judah is My (F2)scepter.

9 "Moab is My washbowl;
Over Edom I shall throw My shoe;
Over Philistia I will make a loud shout."

10 (C1)Who will bring me into the well-defended city?
Who (F1)will lead me to Edom?

11 Have You, O God, not (C1)rejected us?
And will You, O God, not go forth with our armies?

12 Oh give us help against the adversary,
For (C1)salvation (F1)by man is worthless.

13 (F1)Through God we shall do valiantly,
And (C1)it is He who will tread down our adversaries.
