³⁵ On the next morning, Ionathan went out into the fielde, at ye time appoynted with Dauid, and a litle lad with him. ³⁶ And he sayde vnto his boy: Runne, and seke out myne arrowes whiche I shote. And as the boy ran, he shot an arrowe beyond him. ³⁷ And when the lad was come to the place whyther Ionathan had shot the arrowe, Ionathan cryed after the lad, & sayd: Is not the arrowe beyond there? ³⁸ And Ionathan cried after the lad againe: Make speede, haste, & stand not still. But the lad knew not anything,.... What was meant by shooting the arrows, and by shooting them beyond where he was, and by bidding him make haste to bring them:
