¹ Praise the LORD! (Hallelujah!)

^2 (C1)While I live I will praise the LORD;
I will ^(C2)sing praises to my God as long as I live.

^3 (C1)Do not trust in princes,
In mortal ^(C2)man, in whom there is ^(C3)no salvation (help).

⁴ When his ^(C1)spirit leaves him, he ^(C2)returns to the earth;
In that very day his ^(C3)thoughts and plans perish. ^(VR1)

^5 (C1)How blessed and graciously favored is he whose help is the God of Jacob (Israel),
Whose ^(C2)hope is in the LORD his God, ^(VR1)

⁶ Who ^(C1)made heaven and earth,
The ^(C2)sea, and all that is in them,
Who ^(C3)keeps truth and is faithful forever, ^(VR1)

⁷ Who ^(C1)executes justice for the oppressed,
Who ^(C2)gives food to the hungry.
The LORD ^(C3)sets free the prisoners.

⁸ The LORD ^(C1)opens the eyes of the blind;
The LORD ^(C2)lifts up those who are bowed down;
The LORD ^(C3)loves the ^(F1)righteous the upright in heart. ^(VR1)

⁹ The LORD ^(C1)protects the strangers;
He ^(C2)supports the fatherless and the widow;
But He ^(C3)makes crooked the way of the wicked.

¹⁰ The LORD shall ^(C1)reign forever,
Your God, O Zion, to all generations.
