Prayer for Breaking Away from the Treacherous.

^1 (C1)In my trouble I cried to the LORD,
And He answered me.

² Rescue my soul, O LORD, from ^(C1)lying lips,
And from a ^(C2)deceitful tongue.

³ What shall be given to you, and what more shall be done to you,
You ^(C1)deceitful tongue?—

^4 (C1)Sharp arrows of the warrior,
With the ^(F1)burning ^(C2)coals of the broom tree.

⁵ Woe to me, for I sojourn in ^(C1)Meshech,
and I live among the ^(C2)tents of ^(C3)Kedar among hostile people! ^(VR1)

⁶ Too long my soul has had its dwelling
With those who ^(C1)hate peace.

⁷ I ^(C1)am for peace, but when I speak,
They are ^(C2)for war.
