Prosperity of the One Who Fears the LORD.

¹ Praise the LORD! (Hallelujah!)
^(C1)Blessed fortunate, prosperous, and favored by God is the man who fears the LORD with awe-inspired reverence and worships Him with obedience,
Who ^(C2)delights greatly in His commandments. ^(VR1)

² His ^(C1)descendants will be mighty on earth;
The generation of the ^(C2)upright will be blessed.

^3 (C1)Wealth and riches are in his house,
And his righteousness endures forever.

⁴ Light arises in the darkness ^(C1)for the upright;
He is ^(C2)gracious and compassionate and righteous (upright—in right standing with God).

⁵ It is well with the man who ^(C1)is gracious and lends;
He conducts his affairs with justice. ^(VR1)

⁶ He will ^(C1)never be shaken;
The ^(C2)righteous will be remembered forever. ^(VR1)

⁷ He will not fear ^(C1)bad news;
His ^(C2)heart is steadfast, ^(C3)trusting confidently relying on and believing in the LORD.

⁸ His ^(C1)heart is upheld, he ^(C2)will not fear
While he ^(C3)looks with satisfaction on his adversaries.

⁹ He ^(C1)has given freely to the poor;
His righteousness endures forever;
His ^(C2)horn will be exalted in honor. ^(VR1)

¹⁰ The ^(C1)wicked will see it and be angered,
He will ^(C2)gnash his teeth and ^(C3)melt away in despair and death;
The ^(C4)desire of the wicked will perish and come to nothing.
