3 For the time will come when people will not tolerate sound doctrine,(C1) but according to their own desires, will multiply teachers for themselves because they have an itch to hear what they want to hear. 3 For the time wil come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but after their owne lusts shall they heape to themselues teachers, hauing itching eares:

3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 3 (f)For the time is coming when people will not endure (g)sound[a] teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions,3 For (C1)the time will come when they will not tolerate (C2)sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance with their own desires, 3 because the time will come when people will not listen to the true teaching but will find many more teachers who please them by saying the things they want to hear. 3 For (C1)the time will come when they will not endure (C2)sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires,3 For (C1)the time will come when they will not endure (C2)sound doctrine, but wanting to have (F1)their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires,3 For the time will come when men will not tolerate sound doctrine, but with itching ears they will gather around themselves teachers to suit their own desires. 3 The time is coming when people won't listen to good teaching. Instead, they will look for teachers who will please them by telling them only what they are itching to hear.

3 For the time is coming when people will not have patience for sound teaching, but will cater to their passions and gather around themselves teachers who say whatever their ears itch to hear.

3 For the time shall be when they will not bear sound teaching; but according to their own lusts will heap up to themselves teachers, having an itching ear;

3 The time will come when people will not listen to the true teaching. But people will find more and more teachers who please them. They will find teachers who say what they want to hear.3 For the time will come, when they will not suffer wholesome doctrine: but hauing their eares itching, shal after their owne lustes get them an heape of teachers,3 For the time will come when men will not listen to sound doctrine; but they will add for themselves extra teachers according to their desires, being lured by enticing words; 3 The time will come when people will not listen to sound doctrine, but will follow their own desires and will collect for themselves more and more teachers who will tell them what they are itching to hear. 3 For there will be a time when they will not put up with sound teaching, but in accordance with their own desires, they will accumulate for themselves teachers, because they have an insatiable curiosity[a], 3 For a time will be when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own lusts, they will heap up to themselves teachers tickling the ear;3 For (C1)the time will come when people will not tolerate (C2)sound doctrine and accurate instruction that challenges them with God's truth; but wanting to have their ears tickled with something pleasing, they will accumulate for themselves many teachers one after another, chosen to satisfy their own desires and to support the errors they hold, 3 For the time will come when they will not endure the [c]sound [d]doctrine; but, having itching ears, will heap to themselves teachers after their own lusts; 3 For the time will come when they will not take the true teaching; but, moved by their desires, they will get for themselves a great number of teachers for the pleasure of hearing them;3 For the time will come when they will not listen to the sound doctrine, but, having itching ears, will heap up for themselves teachers after their own lusts; 3 For the time will come when people will not put up with healthy doctrine but with itching ears will surround themselves with teachers who cater to their own needs.[xr] 3 For the time will come, when sound doctrine they will not hear; but according to their desires will multiply to themselves teachers, in the itching of their hearing.3 For the time will come, when they will not give ear to sound teaching; but, according to their lusts, will multiply to themselves teachers, in the itching of their hearing;3 For the tyme wyll come, when they shall not suffer wholsome doctrine: but after their owne lustes, shal they whose eares itche, get the an heape of teachers:3 For the time will come when they will not endure the sound doctrine; but, having itching ears, will heap to themselves teachers after their own lusts; 3 For the time will come when they will not listen to the sound doctrine, but, having itching ears, will heap up for themselves teachers after their own lusts; 3 For the time will come, when they will not endure sound doctrine, but will heap to themselves teachers, according to their own desires, having itching ears.3 For a time is coming when they will not tolerate wholesome instruction, but, wanting to have their ears tickled, they will find a multitude of teachers to satisfy their own fancies;3 For tyme schal be, whanne men schulen not suffre hoolsum teching, but at her desiris thei schulen gadere `togidere to hem silf maistris yitchinge to the eeris.3 For the time will come when they will not endure the sound doctrine; but, having itching ears, will heap to themselves teachers after their own desires;3 For the time will come, when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts will they multiply to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 3 For there will be a time when people will not tolerate sound teaching. Instead, following their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves, because they have an insatiable curiosity to hear new things. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers;

3 For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear.

3 The time will come when people will not listen to the truth. They will look for teachers who will tell them only what they want to hear. 3 For the time is coming when people will not put up with sound doctrine, but having itching ears, they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own desires, 3 For there will be a season - when, the healthful teaching, they will not endure, but, according to their own covetings, will, unto themselves, heap up teachers, because they have an itching ear,3 For there shall be a time when they will not endure sound doctrine but, according to their own desires, they will heap to themselves teachers having itching ears:3 For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own likings,3 For the tyme will come when they wyll not suffer wholsome doctryne: but after their awne lustes shall they (whose eares ytche) gett the an heepe of teachers3 for there shall be a season when the sound teaching they will not suffer, but according to their own desires to themselves they shall heap up teachers -- itching in the hearing,3 for there will be a season when they will not endure the sound teaching, but they will heap up teachers according to their own desires—having an itching ear,3 For the tyme wil come, whan they shal not suffre wholsome doctryne, but after their awne lustes shal they (whose eares ytche) get them an heape of teachers,3 for the time will come, when they will not endure sound doctrine, but get teachers of their own corrupt taste, to sooth their ears that itch for flattery: 3-5 You're going to find that there will be times when people will have no stomach for solid teaching, but will fill up on spiritual junk food—catchy opinions that tickle their fancy. They'll turn their backs on truth and chase mirages. But you—keep your eye on what you're doing; accept the hard times along with the good; keep the Message alive; do a thorough job as God's servant.

3 A time is coming when people will turn a deaf ear to the truth. They'll follow their own lustful desires and only listen to those who tell them what they want to hear. 4 They will turn away from hearing the truth and will turn aside to myths.(C1) 4 And they shall turne away their eares from the trueth, and shall be turned vnto fables.

4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. 4 and (h)will turn away from listening to the truth and (i)wander off into myths.4 and they (C1)will turn their ears away from the truth and (C2)will turn aside to myths. 4 They will stop listening to the truth and will begin to follow false stories. 4 and (C1)will turn away their ears from the truth and (C2)will turn aside to myths.4 and (C1)will turn away their ears from the truth and (C2)will turn aside to myths.

4 So they will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. 4 They will turn from the truth and eagerly listen to senseless stories. 4 Yes, they will stop listening to the truth, but will turn aside to follow myths.

4 and they will turn away their ear from the truth, and will have turned aside to fables. 4 People will stop listening to the truth. They will begin to follow the teaching in false stories.4 And shall turne their eares from the trueth, and shalbe giuen vnto fables.4 And they will turn away their ears from the truth, and they will turn to fables. 4 They will turn away from listening to the truth and give their attention to legends. 4 and they will turn away from the hearing of the truth, but will turn to myths. 4 and they will turn away the ear from the truth and will be turned aside to myths.4 and (C1)will turn their ears away from the truth and will (C2)wander off into myths and man-made fictions and will accept the unacceptable. 4 and will turn away their ears from the truth, and turn aside unto fables. 4 And shutting their ears to what is true, will be turned away to belief in foolish stories.4 and will turn away their ears from the truth, and turn aside to fables. 4 They will refuse to listen to the truth and will turn to myths.[xr] 4 And from the truth they will turn away their ear, but to fables will decline.4 and will turn away their ears from the truth, and incline after fables.4 And shall turne away their hearyng from the trueth, and shalbe turned vnto fables.4 and will turn away their ears from the truth, and turn aside unto fables. 4 and will turn away their ears from the truth, and turn aside to fables. 4 And they will turn away their ears from the truth, and turn aside to fables.4 and will turn away from listening to the truth and will turn aside to fables.4 And treuli thei schulen turne awei the heryng fro treuthe, but to fablis thei schulen turne.4 and will turn away their ears from the truth, and turn aside to fables.4 And they will turn away [their] ears from the truth, and will be turned to fables. 4 And they will turn away from hearing the truth, but on the other hand they will turn aside to myths. 4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. 4 They will reject the truth and chase after myths. 4 They will not listen to the truth. Instead, they will listen to stories made up by men. 4 and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander away to myths. 4 And, from the truth, indeed, their ear, will they turn away, while, unto stories, they will turn themselves aside.4 And will indeed turn away their hearing from the truth, but will be turned unto fables.4 and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander into myths.4 and shall turne their eares from ye trueth and shalbe geven vnto fables.4 and indeed, from the truth the hearing they shall turn away, and to the fables they shall be turned aside.4 and, indeed, they will turn away from hearing the truth, and they will be turned aside to the fables.4 and shal turne their eares from the trueth, and shalbe geuen vnto fables.4 which, while they are deaf to the truth, attentively listen to fables. 4 They'll trade the truth for lies.

Be sober.5 As for you, always be steady, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfil your ministry.5 But watch thou in all thynges and suffre adversitie and do the worke of an evangelist fulfill thyne office vnto the vtmost.5 And thou -- watch in all things; suffer evil; do the work of one proclaiming good news; of thy ministration make full assurance,5 But you—watch in all things; suffer evil; do the work of one proclaiming good news; make full assurance of your ministry,5 But watch thou in all thinges, suffre aduersite, do the worke of a preacher of the Gospell, fulfyll thine office vnto the vttemost.5 be you then entirely upon the watch: be insensible to toil: perform the work of an evangelist, and discharge your ministerial function.

5 Keep yourself under control at all times. Don't be afraid of taking a hit for the Lord. Spread the good news and ride in the way God has called each of us to.

6 For I am already being (C1)poured out as a drink offering, and the time of (C2)my departure has come.

6 My life is being given as an offering to God, and the time has come for me to leave this life.

6 For I am already being (C1)poured out as a drink offering, and the time of (C2)my departure has come.

6 For I am already being (C1)poured out as a drink offering, and the time of (C2)my departure has come.6 For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand.

6 Now the time has come for me to die. My life is like a drink offering[a] being poured out on the altar.

6 For as for me, I am already being poured out on the altar; yes, the time for my departure has arrived.

6 For *I* am already being poured out, and the time of my release is come.

6 My life is being given as an offering for God. The time has come for me to leave this life here.
