David’s Kingdom Restored
1 It was reported to Joab, “The king is weeping. He’s mourning over Absalom.”
1 It was told Yo'av, Behold, the king weeps and mourns for Avshalom.
1 And it was told Joab, Behold, the king weepeth and mourneth for Absalom.
King David Weeps for Absalom
1 And it was told to Joab that the king was weeping and he mourned over Absalom,
Joab Rebukes David
1 It was told Joab, "Behold, the king is weeping and mourning for Absalom."
Joab Scolds David
1 People told Joab, "Look, the king is sad and crying because of Absalom."
1 (19:2) Joab was told, "The king is weeping and mourning over Absalom."
Joab Reproves David's Lament
1 It was told to Joab, "Behold, (C1)the king is weeping and mourning for Absalom."
Joab Disapproves of David's Mourning
1 (F1)Then it was reported to Joab, "Behold, (C1)the king is weeping and he mourns for Absalom."
1 And it was tolde Ioab, Behold, the King weepeth and mourneth for Absalom.
Joab Tells David to Speak to His Servants
1 Then it was told to Joab, "Behold, (C1)the king is weeping and mourns for Absalom."
1 Someone told Joab, "The king is crying because Absalom is dead."
1 (18:33) Trembling, the king went up to the room over the gate, weeping and crying, "Oh, my son Avshalom! My son! My son Avshalom! If only I had died instead of you! Oh, Avshalom, my son, my son!"
1 And it was told Joab, Behold, the king weeps and mourns for Absalom.

1 People told Joab what had happened, "Look, the king is crying and mourning for Absalom."
1 AND it was told Joab, Behold, the king is weeping and mourning for Absalom.
Joab Reprimands David
1 Joab was told that King David was weeping and mourning for Absalom.
1 And it was announced to Joab, Behold, the king is weeping and mourning over Absalom.
1 And it was tolde Ioab: beholde, ye kinge wepeth & mourneth for Absalom.
1 And it was told Joab, Behold, the king weepeth and mourneth for Absalom.
1 And word was given to Joab that the king was weeping and sorrowing for Absalom.
1 And it was told Ioab, beholde the king weepeth, & mourneth for Absalom.
1 And the king was much moved, and went up to the chamber over the gate, and wept; and as he went, thus he said: 'O my son Absalom, my son, my son Absalom! would I had died for thee, O Absalom, my son, my son!'
1 And it was told Ioab, Beholde, the king weepeth and mourneth for Absalom.
1 And they brought Joab word, saying, Behold, the king weeps and mourns for Abessalom.
1 And it was told Joab, Behold, the king weepeth and mourneth for Absalom.
Joab Reproves David
1 Then it was reported to Joab, “The king is weeping and mourning over Absalom.”
1 Forsothe it was teld to Joab, that the kyng wepte, and biweilide his sone;
1 And it is declared to Joab, `Lo, the king is weeping and mourning for Absalom;'
1 And it was told Joab, Look, the king weeps and mourns for Absalom.
1 And it was told to Joab, Behold, the king weepeth and mourneth for Absalom.
1 It was told Joab, Behold, the king weeps and mourns for Absalom.
1 And Joab was told, "Behold, the king is weeping and mourning for Absalom."
Joab Rebukes the King
1 [a]Word soon reached Joab that the king was weeping and mourning for Absalom.
1 Then Joab was told, "See, the king is crying. He is filled with sorrow for Absalom."
1 It was told Joab, "The king is weeping and mourning for Absalom."
1 And it was told Joab, - Lo! the king, is weeping and mourning over Absolom.
1 And it was told Joab, that the king wept and mourned for his son:
1 It was told Jo'ab, "Behold, the king is weeping and mourning for Ab'salom."
1 And it is declared to Joab, "Behold, the king is weeping and mourning for Absalom";1-4 Joab was told that David was weeping and lamenting over Absalom. The day's victory turned into a day of mourning as word passed through the army, "David is grieving over his son." The army straggled back to the city that day demoralized, dragging their tails. And the king held his face in his hands and lamented loudly,
O my son Absalom,
Absalom my dear, dear son!
Joab Reproves David's Lament
1 Then it was told Joab, "Behold, (C1)the king is weeping and mourns for Absalom."2 That day’s victory was turned into mourning for all the troops because on that day the troops heard, “The king is grieving over his son.” 2 The victory that day was turned into mourning to all the people; for the people heard say that day, The king grieves for his son.
2 And the victory that day was turned into mourning unto all the people: for the people heard say that day how the king was grieved for his son. 2 so the victory turned to mourning on that day for all the army, because they had heard that day, "The king is grieving over his son." 2 So the victory that day was turned into mourning for all the people, for the people heard that day, "The king is grieving for his son." 2 David's army had won the battle that day. But it became a very sad day for all the people, because they heard that the king was very sad for his son. 2 So the victory of that day was turned to mourning as far as all the people were concerned. For the people heard on that day, "The king is grieved over his son." 2 So the victory on that day was turned into mourning for all the people, for the people heard it said on that day, "The king grieves for his son."2 So the (F1)victory that day was turned into mourning for all the people, because the people heard it said that day, "The king is in mourning over his son."2 Therefore the victorie of that day was turned into mourning to all the people: for the people heard say that day, The King soroweth for his sonne.2 And the salvation that day was turned to mourning for all the people, for the people heard it said that day, "The king is grieved for his son."
2 David's army found out he was crying because his son had died, and their day of victory suddenly turned into a day of sadness.
2 (1) Yo'av was told, "The king is weeping, mourning for Avshalom."
2 And the victory that day was [turned] into mourning for all the people; for the people heard say that day, The king is grieved for his son. 2 So the joy of victory turned to sadness for everyone. It was a very sad day because the people heard, "The king is mourning for his son."2 And there was mourning that day among all the people; for the people heard that day how the king was grieved for his son. 2 And so the joy of victory was turned into sadness for all of David's troops that day, because they heard that the king was mourning for his son. 2 And the deliverance on that day became mourning to all the people, for the people had heard on that day, saying, The king is grieving for his son.2 And so out of ye victory of yt daye there came a mourninge amonge all the people. For the people had herde the same daye, yt the kynge toke on heuely because of his sonne. 2 And the [a]victory that day was turned into mourning unto all the people; for the people heard say that day, The king grieveth for his son. 2 And the salvation of that day was changed to sorrow for all the people: for it was said to the people, The king is in bitter grief for his son.2 And the victorie of that day was turned into mourning vnto al the people: for the people heard say that day howe ye king sorowed for his sonne.2 And it was told Joab: 'Behold, the king weepeth and mourneth for Absalom.'2 And the victorie that day was turned into mourning vnto all the people: for the people heard say that day, how the king was grieued for his sonne. 2 And the victory was turned that day into mourning to all the people, for the people heard say that day, The king grieves after his son. 2 And the victory that day was turned into mourning unto all the people: for the people heard say that day, The king grieveth for his son. 2 And that day’s victory was turned into mourning for all the people, because on that day they were told, “The king is grieving over his son.”2 and the victorie in that dai was turned in to morenyng to al the puple; for the puple herde, that it was seid in that dai, The kyng makith sorewe on his sone.2 and the salvation on that day becometh mourning to all the people, for the people hath heard on that day, saying, `The king hath been grieved for his son.'2 And the victory that day was turned into mourning to all the people; for the people heard it said that day, The king grieves for his son.2 And the victory that day was [turned] into mourning to all the people: for the people heard it said that day how the king was grieved for his son.2 The victory that day was turned into mourning to all the people; for the people heard say that day, The king grieves for his son. 2 So the victory that day was turned into mourning for all the people. For the people heard it said that day, "The king is grieved for his son." 2 As all the people heard of the king's deep grief for his son, the joy of that day's victory was turned into deep sadness. 2 So the happiness of winning the battle that day was changed to sorrow for all the people. For they heard that day, "The king is filled with sorrow for his son." 2 So the victory that day was turned into mourning for all the troops; for the troops heard that day, "The king is grieving for his son." 2 So the victory, on that day, was turned into mourning, with all the people, - for the people heard, on that day, saying, The king is distressed for his son.2 And the victory that day was turned into mourning unto all the people: for the people heard say that day: The king grieveth for his son.2 So the victory that day was turned into mourning for all the people; for the people heard that day, "The king is grieving for his son."2 and the salvation on that day becomes mourning to all the people, for the people have heard on that day, saying, "The king has been grieved for his son."2 The (F1)victory that day was turned to mourning for all the people, for the people heard it said that day, "The king is grieved for his son."3 So they returned to the city quietly that day like troops come in when they are humiliated after fleeing in battle. 3 The people got them by stealth that day into the city, as people who are ashamed steal away when they flee in battle.
3 And the people gat them by stealth that day into the city, as people being ashamed steal away when they flee in battle. 3 The army came secretly[a] into the city on that day because the army was disgraced when they fled in the battle, 3 And the people stole into the city that day as people steal in who are ashamed when they flee in battle. 3 The people came into the city quietly that day. They were like an army that had been defeated in battle and had run away. 3 That day the people stole away to go to the city the way people who are embarrassed steal away in fleeing from battle. 3 The people stole into the city of Mahanaim that day, as people who are humiliated and ashamed steal away when they retreat in battle.3 And the people entered the city surreptitiously that day, just as people who are humiliated surreptitiously flee in battle.3 And the people went that day into the citie secretly, as people confounded hide them selues when they flee in battell.3 So the people stole away to enter into the city that day, as people who are dishonored steal away when they flee in battle. 3 The troops were sneaking into Mahanaim, just as if they had run away from a battle and were ashamed. 3 (2) Thus the victory that day was turned into mourning for all the people, for the people heard it said that day that the king was grieving for his son;
3 And the people stole away that day into the city, as people steal away when ashamed of fleeing in battle.
3 The people came into the city quietly as if they were the ones who had been defeated in battle.3 And the people concealed themselves as they entered into the city that day, as people who are ashamed steal away when they flee from battle. 3 They went back into the city quietly, like soldiers who are ashamed because they are running away from battle. 3 And the people stole away on that day to go into the city, as the people steal away who are ashamed as they flee in battle.3 And ye people stale awaye the same daye, so that they came not in to the cite: as a people that is put to shame, pycketh them selues awaye, whan they are fled in a battayll. 3 And the people gat them by stealth that day into the city, as people that are ashamed steal away when they flee in battle. 3 And the people made their way back to the town quietly and secretly, as those who are shamed go secretly when they go in flight from the war.3 And the people went that day into the citie by stealth, as people confounded to conuey themselues when they flee in battell.3 And the victory that day was turned into mourning unto all the people; for the people heard say that day: 'The king grieveth for his son.'3 And the people gate them by stealth that day into the citie, as people beeing ashamed steale away when they flee in battell. 3 And the people stole away that day to go into the city, as people steal away when they are ashamed as they flee in the battle. 3 And the people gat them by stealth that day into the city, as people that are ashamed steal away when they flee in battle. 3 So they returned to the city quietly that day, as people steal away in humiliation after fleeing a battle.3 And the puple eschewide to entre in to the citee in that dai, as the puple turned and fleynge fro batel is wont to bowe awey.3 And the people stealeth away, on that day, to go in to the city, as the people steal away, who are ashamed, in their fleeing in battle;3 And the people went by stealth that day into the city, as people that are ashamed steal away when they flee in battle.3 And the people withdrew by stealth that day into the city, as people being ashamed steal away when they flee in battle.3 The people got them by stealth that day into the city, as people who are ashamed steal away when they flee in battle. 3 And the people stole back into the city that day, as people who are ashamed steal away when they flee in battle. 3 They crept back into the town that day as though they were ashamed and had deserted in battle. 3 So the people were quiet as they went in secret into the city that day. They acted like people who are ashamed when they run away from a battle. 3 The troops stole into the city that day as soldiers steal in who are ashamed when they flee in battle. 3 And the people stole away, on that day, to go into the city, - as people steal away who are put to shame, when they flee in battle.3 And the people shunned the going into the city that day as a people would do that hath turned their backs, and fled away from the battle.3 And the people stole into the city that day as people steal in who are ashamed when they flee in battle.3 And the people steals away, on that day, to go into the city, as the people steal away, who are ashamed, in their fleeing in battle;3 So the people went by stealth into the city that day, as people who are humiliated steal away when they flee in battle.4 But the king covered his face(C1) and cried loudly, “My son Absalom! Absalom, my son, my son!”
4 The king covered his face, and the king cried with a loud voice, my son Avshalom, Avshalom, my son, my son!4 But the king covered his face, and the king cried with a loud voice, O my son Absalom, O Absalom, my son, my son! 4 and because the king had covered his face and cried with a loud voice, "My son, Absalom, Absalom, my son, my son." 4 The king (a)covered his face, and the king cried with a loud voice, (b)"O my son Absalom, O Absalom, my son, my son!" 4 The king covered his face and cried loudly, "My son Absalom! Absalom, my son, my son!" 4 The king covered his face and cried out loudly, "My son, Absalom! Absalom, my son, my son!"4 But the king (C1)covered his face and cried out with a loud voice, "(C2)O my son Absalom, O Absalom, my son, my son!"4 And the king (C1)covered his face and (F1)cried out with a loud voice, "(C2)My son Absalom, Absalom, my son, my son!"4 So the King hid his face, and the King cryed with a loude voyce, My sonne Absalom, Absalom my sonne, my sonne.4 But as for the king, he (C1)wrapped his face up. Then the king cried out with a loud voice, "(C2)O my son Absalom, O Absalom, my son, my son!"
4 David held his hands over his face and kept on crying loudly, "My son, Absalom! Absalom, my son, my son!" 4 (3) so that the people entered the city furtively that day, the way that people who are ashamed creep away when fleeing a battlefield.
4 And the king covered his face, and the king cried with a loud voice, My son Absalom! Absalom, my son, my son! 4 The king had covered his face and was crying loudly, "O my son Absalom, O Absalom, my son, my son!"4 But the king covered his face, and cried with a loud voice, saying, O my son Absalom, O Absalom, my son, my son! 4 The king covered his face and cried loudly, "O my son! My son Absalom! Absalom, my son!"4 And the king had covered his face. Yea, the king cried with a loud voice, My son Absalom! Absalom my son, my son!4 As for the kynge, he had couered his face, and cryed loude, and sayde: Oh my sonne Absalom, Absalom my sonne, my sonne. 4 And the king covered his face, and the king cried with a loud voice, O my son Absalom, O Absalom, my son, my son! 4 But the king, covering his face, gave a great cry, O my son Absalom, O Absalom, my son, my son!4 But the king hyd his face, and cryed with a loude voyce: O my sonne Absalom, O Absalom my sonne, my sonne.4 And the people got them by stealth that day into the city, as people that are ashamed steal away when they flee in battle.4 But the king couered his face, and the king cried with a loud voyce, O my sonne Absalom, O Absalom my sonne, my sonne. 4 And the king hid his face: and the king cried with a loud voice, My son Abessalom! Abessalom my son! 4 And the king covered his face, and the king cried with a loud voice, O my son Absalom, O Absalom, my son, my son! 4 But the king covered his face and cried out at the top of his voice, “O my son Absalom! O Absalom, my son, my son!”4 Sotheli the kyng hilide his heed, and criede with greet vois, My sone, Absolon!4 and the king hath covered his face, yea, the king crieth -- a loud voice -- `My son Absalom, Absalom, my son, my son.'4 And the king covered his face, and the king cried with a loud voice, O my son Absalom, O Absalom, my son, my son!4 But the king covered his face, and the king cried with a loud voice, O my son Absalom, O Absalom, my son, my son!4 The king covered his face, and the king cried with a loud voice, my son Absalom, Absalom, my son, my son! 4 But the king covered his face, and the king cried out with a loud voice, "O my son Absalom! O Absalom, my son, my son!" 4 The king covered his face with his hands and kept on crying, "O my son Absalom! O Absalom, my son, my son!" 4 The king covered his face and cried out with a loud voice, "O my son Absalom, O Absalom, my son, my son!" 4 The king covered his face, and the king cried with a loud voice, "O my son Absalom, O Absalom, my son, my son!" 4 But, the king, muffled his face, and the king made outcry, with a loud voice, - O my son Absolom, O Absolom, my son, my son!4 And the king covered his head, and cried with a loud voice: O my son Absalom, O Absalom my son, O my son.4 The king covered his face, and the king cried with a loud voice, "O my son Ab'salom, O Ab'salom, my son, my son!"4 and the king has covered his face, indeed, the king cries [with] a loud voice, "My son Absalom! Absalom, my son, my son!"4 The king (C1)covered his face and (F1)cried out with a loud voice, "(C2)O my son Absalom, O Absalom, my son, my son!"
5 Then Joab went into the house to the king and said, “Today you have shamed all your soldiers—those who saved your life as well as your sons, your wives, and your concubines— 5 Yo'av came into the house to the king, and said, You have shamed this day the faces of all your servants, who this day have saved your life, and the lives of your sons and of your daughters, and the lives of your wives, and the lives of your concubines;
5 And Joab came into the house to the king, and said, Thou hast shamed this day the faces of all thy servants, which this day have saved thy life, and the lives of thy sons and of thy daughters, and the lives of thy wives, and the lives of thy concubines;
5 Then Joab came to the king's house and said, "Today you have humiliated the faces of all of your servants who have saved your life this day, and the life of your sons and your daughters, the life of your wives, and the life of your concubines, 5 Then Joab came into the house to the king and said, "You have today covered with shame the faces of all your servants, who have this day saved your life and the lives of your sons and your daughters and the lives of your wives and your concubines,
5 Joab went into the king's house and said, "Today you have shamed all your men. They saved your life and the lives of your sons, daughters, wives, and slave women.
5 So Joab visited the king at his home. He said, "Today you have embarrassed all your servants who have saved your life this day, as well as the lives of your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your concubines. 5 Then Joab came into the house to the king and said, "Today you have put all your servants to shame who this day have saved your life and the lives of your sons and your daughters, and the lives of your wives and (F1)concubines.5 Then Joab came into the house to the king and said, "Today you have shamed (F1)all your servants, who have saved your life today and the lives of your sons and daughters, the lives of your wives, and the lives of your concubines,5 Then Ioab came into the house to the King, and said, Thou hast shamed this day the faces of all thy seruants, which this day haue saued thy life & the liues of thy sones, & of thy daughters, and the liues of thy wiues, and the liues of thy concubines,5 Then Joab came into the house to the king and said, "Today you have shamed the faces of all your servants, who today have provided escape for your life and the lives of your sons and daughters, the lives of your wives, and the lives of your concubines,
5 Joab went to the house where David was staying and told him:
You've made your soldiers ashamed! Not only did they save your life, they saved your sons and daughters and wives as well. 5 (4) Meanwhile, the king covered his face and cried aloud, "Oh, my son Avshalom! Oh, Avshalom, my son, my son!"
5 And Joab came into the house to the king, and said, Thou hast put to shame this day the faces of all thy servants who have this day saved thy life, and the lives of thy sons and of thy daughters, and the lives of thy wives and the lives of thy concubines;
5 Joab came into the king's palace and said to the king, "You are humiliating every one of your officers! Look, they saved your life today and the lives of your sons and daughters and your wives and slave women.5 And Joab came into the kings house and said to him, You have shamed this day the faces of all your servants who this day have saved your life and the lives of all your sons and your daughters and the lives of your wives and the lives of your concubines,
5 Joab went to the king's house and said to him, "Today you have humiliated your men—the men who saved your life and the lives of your sons and daughters and of your wives and concubines. 5 And Joab came in to the king to the house, and said, You have put to shame today the faces of all your servants, those delivering your life today, and the life of your sons, and of your daughters,and the life of your wives, and the life ofyour concubines,5 But Ioab came to the kynge in to the house, and sayde: This daye hast thou shamed all thy seruauntes (which haue delyuered thy soule this daye, and the soules of thy sonnes, of thy doughters, of thy wyues, and of thy cocubynes) 5 And Joab came into the house to the king, and said, Thou hast shamed this day the faces of all thy servants, who this day have saved thy life, and the lives of thy sons and of thy daughters, and the lives of thy wives, and the lives of thy concubines; 5 And Joab came into the house to the king and said, Today you have put to shame the faces of all your servants who even now have kept you and your sons and your daughters and your wives and all your women safe from death;5 And Ioab came into the house to the king, and sayd: Thou hast shamed this day the faces of all thy seruautes, which this day haue saued thy life, & the liues of thy sonnes, and of thy daughters, & the liues of thy wyues, and of thy concubines,5 And the king covered his face, and the king cried with a loud voice: 'O my son Absalom, O Absalom, my son, my son!' 5 And Ioab came into the house to the king, and said, Thou hast shamed this day the faces of all thy seruants, which this day haue saued thy life, and the liues of thy sonnes, & of thy daughters, and the liues of thy wiues, and the liues of thy concubines, 5 And Joab went in to the king, into the house, and said, Thou hast this day shamed the faces of all thy servants that have delivered thee this day, and have saved the lives of thy sons and of thy daughters, and the lives of thy wives, and of thy concubines, 5 And Joab came into the house to the king, and said, Thou hast shamed this day the faces of all thy servants, which this day have saved thy life, and the lives of thy sons and of thy daughters, and the lives of thy wives, and the lives of thy concubines; 5 Then Joab went into the house and said to the king, “Today you have disgraced all your servants who have saved your life and the lives of your sons and daughters, of your wives, and of your concubines.5 Absolon, my sone! Therfor Joab entride to the kyng in to the hows, and seide, Thou hast schent to dai the cheris of alle thi seruauntis, that han maad saaf thi lijf, and the lijf of thi sones and of thi douytris, and the lijf of thi wyues, and the lijf of thi secoundarie wyues.5 And Joab cometh in unto the king to the house, and saith, `Thou hast put to shame to-day the faces of all thy servants, those delivering thy life to-day, and the life of thy sons, and of thy daughters, and the life of thy wives, and the life of thy concubines,5 And Joab came into the house to the king, and said, You have shamed this day the faces of all your slaves, who this day have saved your life, and the lives of your sons and of your daughters, and the lives of your wives, and the lives of your concubines;5 And Joab came into the house to the king, and said, thou hast shamed this day the faces of all thy servants, who this day have saved thy life, and the lives of thy sons and of thy daughters, and the lives of thy wives, and the lives of thy concubines;5 Joab came into the house to the king, and said, You have shamed this day the faces of all your servants, who this day have saved your life, and the lives of your sons and of your daughters, and the lives of your wives, and the lives of your concubines; 5 Then Joab came into the house to the king, and said, "Today you have disgraced all your servants who today have saved your life, the lives of your sons and daughters, the lives of your wives and the lives of your concubines,
5 Then Joab went to the king's room and said to him, "We saved your life today and the lives of your sons, your daughters, and your wives and concubines. Yet you act like this, making us feel ashamed of ourselves. 5 Then Joab came into the house to the king and said, "Today you have covered the faces of all your servants with shame. Today they have saved your life and the lives of your sons and daughters, your wives and the women who act as your wives. 5 Then Joab came into the house to the king, and said, "Today you have covered with shame the faces of all your officers who have saved your life today, and the lives of your sons and your daughters, and the lives of your wives and your concubines, 5 Then came Joab unto the king, in the house, - and said - Thou hast, to-day, covered with shame the faces of all thy servants, who have rescued thy life to-day, and the lives of thy sons and thy daughters, and the lives of thy wives, and the lives of thy concubines;5 Then Joab going into the house to the king, said: Thou hast shamed this day the faces of all thy servants, that have saved thy life, and the lives of thy sons, and of thy daughters, and the lives of thy wives, and the lives of thy concubines.5 Then Jo'ab came into the house to the king, and said, "You have today covered with shame the faces of all your servants, who have this day saved your life, and the lives of your sons and your daughters, and the lives of your wives and your concubines,5 And Joab comes into the house to the king and says, "Today you have put to shame the faces of all your servants, those delivering your life today, and the life of your sons, and of your daughters, and the life of your wives, and the life of your concubines,5-7 But in private Joab rebuked the king: "Now you've done it—knocked the wind out of your loyal servants who have just saved your life, to say nothing of the lives of your sons and daughters, wives and concubines. What is this—loving those who hate you and hating those who love you? Your actions give a clear message: officers and soldiers mean nothing to you. You know that if Absalom were alive right now, we'd all be dead—would that make you happy? Get hold of yourself; get out there and put some heart into your servants! I swear to God that if you don't go to them they'll desert; not a soldier will be left here by nightfall. And that will be the worst thing that has happened yet."5 Then Joab came into the house to the king and said, "Today you have covered with shame the faces of all your servants, who today have saved your life and the lives of your sons and daughters, the lives of your wives, and the lives of your concubines,6 by loving your enemies and hating those who love you! 7 “Now get up! Go out and encourage(F1) your soldiers, for I swear by the Lord that if you don’t go out, not a man will remain with you tonight.(C1) This will be worse for you than all the trouble that has come to you from your youth until now!”
7 Now therefore arise, go forth, and speak comfortably to your servants; for I swear by the LORD, if you don't go forth, there will not stay a man with you this night: and that will be worse to you than all the evil that has befallen you from your youth until now.
