He did everything his father Joash had done.(C1) 3 He did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, yet not like David his father: he did according to all that Yo'ash his father had done.

3 And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, yet not like David his father: he did according to all things as Joash his father did. 3 And he did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, yet not like David his father. He did in all things as Joash his father had done. 3 Amaziah did what the Lord said was right. He did everything his father Joash had done, but he did not do as his ancestor David had done. 3 He did what the Lord approved, but not like David his father. He followed the example of his father Joash. 3 He did right in the sight of the LORD, though not like David his father (ancestor). He acted in accordance with everything that his father Joash had done.3 He did what was right in the sight of the LORD, yet not like his father David; he acted in accordance with everything that his father Joash had done.3 And he did vprightly in the sight of the Lord, yet not like Dauid his father, but did according to all that Ioash his father had done.3 And he did what was right in the sight of Yahweh, yet not like David his father; he did according to all that Joash his father had done.

3 Amaziah followed the example of his father Joash by obeying the Lord and doing right. But he was not as faithful as his ancestor David. 3 He did what was right from Adonai's perspective, although not like David his ancestor; he lived the same way as his father Yo'ash.

3 And he did what was right in the sight of Jehovah, yet not like David his father: he did according to all that Joash his father had done. 3 Amaziah did what the Lord said was right, but he did not follow God completely like David his ancestor. Amaziah did everything that Joash his father had done.3 And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, yet not like David his father; he did according to all things that Joash his father did. 3 He did what was pleasing to the Lord, but he was not like his ancestor King David; instead, he did what his father Joash had done. 3 He did right in the eyes of Yahweh, only not as David his ancestor;[a] as all which Jehoash his father had done, he did. 3 And he did the right in the eyes of Jehovah, but not like his father David; he did according to all that his father Joash did;3 And he dyd that which was righte in the sighte of the LORDE: yet not as his father Dauid, but euen as his father Ioas did so dyd he also: 3 And he did that which was right in the eyes of Jehovah, yet not like David his father: he did according to all that Joash his father had done. 3 He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, though not like David his father; he did as Joash his father had done.3 And he did that which is good in the sight of the Lorde, yet not lyke Dauid his father: but did according to all thinges as Ioas his father did.3 And he did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, yet not like David his father; he did according to all that Joash his father had done.3 And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, yet not like Dauid his father: hee did according to all things as Ioash his father did. 3 And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, but not as David his father: he did according to all things that his father Joas did. 3 And he did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, yet not like David his father: he did according to all that Joash his father had done. 3 And he did what was right in the eyes of the LORD, but not as his father David had done. He did everything as his father Joash had done.3 And he dide riytfulnesse bifor the Lord, netheles not as Dauid, his fadir; he dide bi alle thingis whiche Joas, his fadir, dide, no but this oonli,3 and he doth that which [is] right in the eyes of Jehovah, only not like David his father, according to all that Joash his father did he hath done,3 And he did that which was right in the eyes of Yahweh, yet not like David his father: he did according to all that Joash his father had done.3 And he did [that which was] right in the sight of the LORD, yet not like David his father: he did according to all things as Joash his father did.3 He did that which was right in the eyes of Yahweh, yet not like David his father: he did according to all that Joash his father had done. 3 And he did what was right in the sight of the LORD, yet not like his father David; he did everything as his father Joash had done. 3 Amaziah did what was pleasing in the Lord's sight, but not like his ancestor David. Instead, he followed the example of his father, Joash. 3 Amaziah did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, but not like David his father. He did all that his father Joash had done. 3 He did what was right in the sight of the Lord, yet not like his ancestor David; in all things he did as his father Joash had done. 3 And he did that which was right in the eyes of Yahweh, only, not like David his father: according to all that Joash his father did, so he did;3 And he did that which was right before the Lord, but yet not like David his father. He did according to all things that Joas his father, did:3 And he did what was right in the eyes of the LORD, yet not like David his father; he did in all things as Jo'ash his father had done.3 and he does that which [is] right in the eyes of YHWH, only not like his father David; he has done according to all that his father Joash did,3-4 He lived the way God wanted and did the right thing. But he didn't come up to the standards of his ancestor David; instead he lived pretty much as his father Joash had; the local sex-and-religion shrines continued to stay in business with people frequenting them.3 He did right in the sight of the LORD, yet not like David his father; he did according to all that Joash his father had done.4 Yet the high places were not taken away, and the people continued sacrificing and burning incense on the high places.(C1)

4 However the high places were not taken away: the people still sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places.

4 Howbeit the high places were not taken away: as yet the people did sacrifice and burnt incense on the high places. 4 (d)But the high places were not removed; (e)the people still sacrificed and made offerings on the high places. 4 The places where gods were worshiped were not removed, so the people still sacrificed and burned incense there. 4 But the high places were not eliminated; the people continued to offer sacrifices and burn incense on the high places.4 However, (C1)the high places were not removed; (C2)the people were still sacrificing and burning incense on the high places.4 Only (C1)the high places were not eliminated; (C2)the people still sacrificed and burned incense on the high places.4 Notwithstanding the hie places were not taken away: for as yet the people did sacrifice and burnt incense in the hie places.4 Only (C1)the high places were not taken away; (C2)the people still sacrificed and burned incense on the high places. 4 Amaziah did not destroy the local shrines, and they were still used as places for offering sacrifices. 4 However, the high places were not removed; the people still sacrificed and offered on the high places.

4 Only, the high places were not removed: the people still sacrificed and burned incense on the high places. 4 He did not destroy the high places. The people still sacrificed and burned incense at those places of worship.4 But the temples of idols he did not remove, and the people still were sacrificing and burning incense on the altars on the high places. 4 He did not tear down the pagan places of worship, and the people continued to offer sacrifices and burn incense there. 4 Only the high places were not removed; the people were still sacrificing and offering incense on the high places.4 however, the high places were not taken away; the people still sacrificed and offered in the high places.4 for ye hye places were not put downe, but the people offred and brent incese yet vpon the hye places. 4 Howbeit the high places were not taken away: the people still sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places. 4 But still the high places were not taken away; the people went on making offerings and burning them in the high places.4 Neither were the high places taken a way: For as yet the people did sacrifice and burnt incense on the high places.4 Howbeit the high places were not taken away; the people still sacrificed and offered in the high places.4 Howbeit, the high places were not taken away: as yet the people did sacrifice, and burnt incense on the high places. 4 Only he removed not the high places: as yet the people sacrificed and burnt incense on the high places. 4 Howbeit the high places were not taken away: the people still sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places. 4 Nevertheless, the high places were not taken away, and the people continued sacrificing and burning incense on the high places.4 that he dide not awei hiy thingis; for yit the puple made sacrifice, and brent encence in hiy thingis.4 only, the high places have not turned aside -- yet are the people sacrificing and making perfume in high places.4 Nevertheless the high places were not taken away: the people still sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places.4 But, the high places were not taken away: as yet the people sacrificed, and burnt incense on the high places.4 However the high places were not taken away: the people still sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places. 4 However the high places were not taken away, and the people still sacrificed and burned incense on the high places. 4 Amaziah did not destroy the pagan shrines, and the people still offered sacrifices and burned incense there. 4 But the high places were not taken away. The people still gave gifts and burned special perfume on the high places. 4 But the high places were not removed; the people still sacrificed and made offerings on the high places. 4 only, the high places, took they not away, - still were the people sacrificing and burning incense in the high places.4 But this only, that he took not away the high places; for yet the people sacrificed, and burnt incense in the high places:4 But the high places were not removed; the people still sacrificed and burned incense on the high places.4 only, the high places have not been removed—the people are still sacrificing and making incense in high places.4 Only (C1)the high places were not taken away; (C2)the people still sacrificed and burned incense on the high places.

5 As soon as the kingdom was firmly in his grasp, Amaziah killed his servants who had killed his father the king.(C1) 5 It happened, as soon as the kingdom was established in his hand, that he killed his servants who had slain the king his father:

5 And it came to pass, as soon as the kingdom was confirmed in his hand, that he slew his servants which had slain the king his father. 5 And as soon as the royal power was (f)firmly in his hand, he struck down his servants (g)who had struck down the king his father.

5 As soon as Amaziah took control of the kingdom, he executed the officers who had murdered his father the king.

5 When he had secured control of the kingdom, he executed the servants who had assassinated his father. 5 As soon as the kingdom was firmly in Amaziah's hand, he (C1)executed his servants who had killed his father the king. (VR1)5 Now it came about, as soon as the kingdom was firmly in his hand, that he (F1)(C1)killed his servants who had (F1)killed the king, his father.5 And when the kingdome was confirmed in his hand, he slewe his seruants which had killed the King his father.5 Now it happened as soon as the kingdom was strong in his hand, that he (C1)struck down his servants who had struck down the king his father.

5 As soon as Amaziah had control of Judah, he arrested and killed the officers who had murdered his father.

5 As soon as he had the kingdom firmly under his control, he put to death the servants of his who had murdered the king his father.

5 And it came to pass when the kingdom was established in his hand, that he slew his servants who had smitten the king his father.

5 At the time that Amaziah had strong control of the kingdom, he killed the officers who had killed his father.5 And it came to pass, as soon as the kingdom was firmly in his hand, he slew his servants who had slain King Joash his father.

5 As soon as Amaziah was firmly in power, he executed the officials who had killed his father, the king.

5 It happened that when the kingdom was firmly in his hand, he killed his servants who had killed his father the king. 5 And it happened, when the kingdom was strong in his hand, he struck his servants, those who struck his father, the king.5 Now whan he had gotten the power of the kyngdome, he smote his seruauntes which had smytte the kynge his father: 5 And it came to pass, as soon as the kingdom was established in his hand, that he slew his servants who had slain the king his father: 5 Now when he became strong in the kingdom, straight away he put to death those servants who had taken the life of the king his father;5 And assoone as the kingdome was setled in his hande, it came to passe, that he slue his seruauntes which had killed the king his father.5 And it came to pass, as soon as the kingdom was established in his hand, that he slew his servants who had slain the king his father;5 And it came to passe assoone as the kingdome was confirmed in his hand, that he slew his seruants which had slaine the king his father. 5 And it came to pass when the kingdom was established in his hand, that he slew his servants that had slain the king his father. 5 And it came to pass, as soon as the kingdom was established in his hand, that he slew his servants which had slain the king his father: 5 As soon as the kingdom was firmly in his grasp, Amaziah executed the servants who had murdered his father the king.5 And whanne he hadde gete the rewme, he smoot hise seruauntis, that hadden killid the kyng, his fadir;5 And it cometh to pass, when the kingdom hath been strong in his hand, that he smiteth his servants, those smiting the king his father,5 And it came to pass, as soon as the kingdom was established in his hand, that he slew his slaves who had slain the king his father:5 And it came to pass, as soon as the kingdom was confirmed in his hand, that he slew his servants who had slain the king his father.5 It happened, as soon as the kingdom was established in his hand, that he killed his servants who had slain the king his father: 5 Now it happened, as soon as the kingdom was established in his hand, that he executed his servants who had murdered his father the king.

5 When Amaziah was well established as king, he executed the officials who had assassinated his father. 5 As soon as the nation was under Amaziah's power, he killed the servants who had killed his father when he was king. 5 As soon as the royal power was firmly in his hand he killed his servants who had murdered his father the king. 5 And it came to pass that, as soon as the kingdom was confirmed in his hand, he smote his servants who smote the king his father;5 And when he had possession of the kingdom, he put his servants to death that had slain the king, his father.5 And as soon as the royal power was firmly in his hand he killed his servants who had slain the king his father.5 And it comes to pass, when the kingdom has been strong in his hand, that he strikes his servants, those striking his father the king,5-6 When he had the affairs of the kingdom well in hand, he executed the palace guard that had assassinated his father the king. But he didn't kill the sons of the assassins. He was obedient to what God commanded, written in the Word revealed to Moses, that parents shouldn't be executed for their children's sins, nor children for those of their parents. We each pay personally for our sins.5 Now it came about, as soon as the kingdom was firmly in his hand, that he (F1)(C1)killed his servants who had slain the king his father.6 However, he did not put the children of the killers to death, as it is written in the book of the law of Moses where the Lord commanded, “Fathers are not to be put to death because of children, and children are not to be put to death because of fathers; instead, each one will be put to death for his own sin.”(C1)

6 but the children of the murderers he didn't put to death; according to that which is written in the book of the law of Moshe, as the LORD commanded, saying, The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, nor the children be put to death for the fathers; but every man shall die for his own sin.

6 But the children of the murderers he slew not: according unto that which is written in the book of the law of Moses, wherein the Lord commanded, saying, The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, nor the children be put to death for the fathers; but every man shall be put to death for his own sin. 6 But he did not put to death the children of the murderers, according to what is written in the Book of the Law of Moses, where the Lord commanded, (h)"Fathers shall not be put to death because of their children, nor shall children be put to death because of their fathers. But each one shall die for his own sin." 6 But he did not put to death the children of the murderers because of the rule written in the Book of the Teachings of Moses. The Lord had commanded: "Parents must not be put to death when their children do wrong, and children must not be put to death when their parents do wrong. Each must die for his own sins."[a] 6 But he did not execute the sons of the assassins. He obeyed the Lord's commandment as recorded in the law scroll of Moses, "Fathers must not be put to death for what their sons do, and sons must not be put to death for what their fathers do. A man must be put to death only for his own sin."6 But he did not put the sons of the murderers to death, in compliance with what is written in the Book of the Law of Moses, in which the LORD commanded, saying, "(C1)The fathers shall not be put to death for the sons, nor shall the sons be put to death for the fathers; but (C2)each shall be put to death only for his own sin." 6 But he did not put the sons of (F1)the murderers to death, in (F2)obedience to what is written in the Book of the Law of Moses, as the LORD commanded, saying, "(C1)The fathers shall not be put to death for the sons, nor the sons be put to death for the fathers; but (C2)each shall be put to death for his own sin."

6 But the children of those that did slay him, he slewe not, according vnto that that is written in the booke of the Lawe of Moses, wherein the Lord commanded, saying, The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, nor the children put to death for the fathers: but euery man shall be put to death for his owne sinne.6 But the sons of those who struck him down he did not put to death, according to what is written in the book of the Law of Moses, which Yahweh commanded, saying, "(C1)Fathers shall not be put to death for their sons, nor sons be put to death for their fathers; but (C2)each shall be put to death for his own sin."

6 But the children of those officers were not killed. The Lord had commanded in the Law of Moses that only the people who sinned were to be punished, not their parents or children.[a] 6 But he did not put the children of the murderers to death, because of what is written in the scroll of the Torah of Moshe, as Adonai ordered when he said, "Fathers are not to be executed for the children, nor are children to be executed for the fathers; every person will be executed for his own sin."

6 But the children of those that smote [him] he did not put to death; according to that which is written in the book of the law of Moses, wherein Jehovah commanded saying, The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers; but every man shall be put to death for his own sin. 6 But he did not kill the children of the murderers because of the rules written in the book, The Law of Moses. The Lord gave this command in there: "Parents must not be put to death for something their children did. And children must not be put to death for something their parents did. People should be put to death only for what that they themselves did."[a]6 But the children of the murderers he did not kill, according to that which is written in the Book of the Law of Moses, wherein the LORD commanded, saying, The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, nor the children be put to death for the fathers; but every man shall be put to death for his own sin. 6 (b)However, he did not kill their children but followed what the Lord had commanded in the Law of Moses: "Parents are not to be put to death for crimes committed by their children, and children are not to be put to death for crimes committed by their parents; people are to be put to death only for a crime they themselves have committed." 6 But the sons of the killers he did not kill, as it is written in the scroll of the law of Moses which Yahweh had commanded, saying, "Fathers should not be killed because of children, and children should not be killed because of fathers; but a man should die because of his own sin." 6 But he did not cause to die the sons of those who struck him , as it is written in the book of the Law of Moses that Jehovah commanded, saying, The fathers are not to be caused to die for thesons, and the sons are not to be caused to die for the fathers, but each shall be caused to die for his own sin.6 but the children of ye deedslayers slewe he not, acordinge to yt which is wrytte in the boke of the lawe of Moses, where the LORDE hath comaunded & sayde: The fathers shal not dye for the children, & the children shal not dye for the fathers: but euery one shal dye for his awne synne. 6 but the children of the murderers he put not to death; according to that which is written in the book of the law of Moses, as Jehovah commanded, saying, The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, nor the children be put to death for the fathers; but every man shall die for his own sin. 6 But he did not put their children to death; for the orders of the Lord recorded in the book of the law of Moses say, The fathers are not to be put to death for the children, or the children for their fathers; but a man is to be put to death for the sin which he himself has done.6 But the children of those murtherers he slue not, according vnto it that is written in the booke of the law of Moyses, wherein the Lorde commaunded, saying: Let not the fathers dye for the children, nor let the children be slaine for the fathers: but let euery man be put to death for his owne sinne.6 but the children of the murderers he put not to death; according to that which is written in the book of the law of Moses, as the LORD commanded saying: 'The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, nor the children be put to death for the fathers; but every man shall be put to death for his own sin.'6 But the children of the murderers he slew not, according vnto that which is written in the booke of the Law of Moses, wherein the Lord commanded, saying, The fathers shal not be put to death for the children, nor the children be put to death for the fathers: but euery man shall be put to death for his owne sinne. 6 But he slew not the sons of those that had slain him; according as it is written in the book of the laws of Moses, as the Lord gave commandment, saying, The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, and the children shall not be put to death for the fathers; but every one shall die for his own sins. 6 but the children of the murderers he put not to death: according to that which is written in the book of the law of Moses, as the LORD commanded, saying, The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, nor the children be put to death for the fathers; but every man shall die for his own sin. 6 Yet he did not put the sons of the murderers to death, according to what is written in the Book of the Law of Moses, where the LORD commanded: “Fathers must not be put to death for their children, and children must not be put to death for their fathers; each is to die for his own sin(a).”6 but he killide not the sones of hem that hadden slayn `the kyng, bi that that is writun in the book of the lawe of Moyses, as the Lord comaundide to Moises, and seide, Fadris schulen not die for the sones, nethir the sones for the fadris, but eche man schal die in his owne synne.6 and the sons of those smiting [him] he hath not put to death, as it is written in the book of the law of Moses that Jehovah commanded, saying, `Fathers are not put to death for sons, and sons are not put to death for fathers, but each for his own sin is put to death.'6 but the sons of the murderers he did not put to death; according to that which is written in the book of the law of Moses, as Yahweh commanded, saying, The fathers shall not be put to death for the sons, nor the sons be put to death for the fathers; but every man shall die for his own sin.6 But the children of the murderers he slew not: according to that which is written in the book of the law of Moses, in which the LORD commanded, saying, The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, nor the children be put to death for the fathers; but every man shall be put to death for his own sin.6 but the children of the murderers he didn't put to death; according to that which is written in the book of the law of Moses, as Yahweh commanded, saying, The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, nor the children be put to death for the fathers; but every man shall die for his own sin. 6 But the children of the murderers he did not execute, according to what is written in the Book of the Law of Moses, in which the Lord commanded, saying, "Fathers shall not be put to death for their children, nor shall children be put to death for their fathers; but a person shall be put to death for his own sin." [fn] 6 However, he did not kill the children of the assassins, for he obeyed the command of the Lord as written by Moses in the Book of the Law: "Parents must not be put to death for the sins of their children, nor children for the sins of their parents. Those deserving to die must be put to death for their own crimes."[b] 6 But he did not kill the sons of the killers. Because it is written in the Book of the Law of Moses, as the Lord said, "The fathers must not be put to death for the sons. And the sons must not be put to death for the fathers. Each must be put to death for his own sin." 6 But he did not put to death the children of the murderers; according to what is written in the book of the law of Moses, where the Lord commanded, "The parents shall not be put to death for the children, or the children be put to death for the parents; but all shall be put to death for their own sins."6 but, the sons of them that smote him, slew he not, - as it is written in the book of the law of Moses, which Yahweh commanded, saying - Fathers, shall not be put to death, for sons, nor shall, sons, be put to death, for fathers, but every man, for his own sin, shall be put to death.6 But the children of the murderers he did not put to death, according to that which is written in the book of the law of Moses, wherein the Lord commanded, saying: The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: but every man shall die for his own sin.6 But he did not put to death the children of the murderers; according to what is written in the book of the law of Moses, where the LORD commanded, "The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, or the children be put to death for the fathers; but every man shall die for his own sin."6 and the sons of those striking [him] he has not put to death, as it is written in the Scroll of the Law of Moses that YHWH commanded, saying, "Fathers are not put to death for sons, and sons are not put to death for fathers, but each is put to death for his own sin."6 But the sons of the (F1)slayers he did not put to death, according to what is written in the book of the Law of Moses, as the LORD commanded, saying, "(C1)The fathers shall not be put to death for the sons, nor the sons be put to death for the fathers; but (C2)each shall be put to death for his own sin."
