1 This is the third time I am coming to you: "in the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established." 1-4 Well, this is my third visit coming up. Remember the Scripture that says, "A matter becomes clear after two or three witnesses give evidence"? On my second visit I warned that bunch that keeps sinning over and over in the same old ways that when I came back I wouldn't go easy on them. Now, preparing for the third, I'm saying it again from a distance. If you haven't changed your ways by the time I get there, look out. You who have been demanding proof that Christ speaks through me will get more than you bargained for. You'll get the full force of Christ, don't think you won't. He was sheer weakness and humiliation when he was killed on the cross, but oh, he's alive now—in the mighty power of God! We weren't much to look at, either, when we were humiliated among you, but when we deal with you this next time, we'll be alive in Christ, strengthened by God.

A Final Word

1 This will be my third time coming to see y'all. Don't forget, if someone has a complaint about someone else, there's got to be at least two or three other cowboys who can testify to the truth of it. 2 I gave a warning when I was present the second time, and now I give a warning(C1) while I am absent to those who sinned before and to all the rest: If I come again, I will not be lenient, 2 I told you before, and foretell you as if I were present the second time, and being absent, now I write to them which heretofore haue sinned, and to all other, that if I come againe I will not spare:

2 I told you before, and foretell you, as if I were present, the second time; and being absent now I write to them which heretofore have sinned, and to all other, that, if I come again, I will not spare: 2 (c)I warned (d)those who sinned before and all the others, and I warn them now while absent, as I did when present on my second visit, that (e)if I come again I will not spare them—2 I have previously said when I was present the second time, and though now absent I say in advance to those who have (C1)sinned in the past and to all the rest as well, that (C2)if I come again I will not (C3)spare anyone, 2 When I was with you the second time, I gave a warning to those who had sinned. Now I am away from you, and I give a warning to all the others. When I come to you again, I will not be easy with them. 2 I have already warned those who have (C1)sinned in the past and all the rest as well, and I warn them now even though I am absent from you as I did when I was with you the second time, that (C2)if I come back I will not (C3)spare anyone,2 I have previously said when present the second time, and though now absent I say in advance to those who have (C1)sinned in the past and to all the rest as well, that (C2)if I come again I will not (C3)spare anyone,2 I have previously said when present the second time, and though now absent I say in advance to those who have (C1)sinned in the past and to all the rest as well, that (C2)if I come again I will not (C3)spare anyone,2 I already warned you the second time I was with you. So now in my absence, I warn those who sinned earlier and everyone else: If I return, I will not spare anyone, 2 During my second visit I warned you that I would punish you and anyone else who doesn't stop sinning. I am far away from you now, but I give you the same warning. 2 To those who sinned in the past and to the rest I say beforehand while absent the same thing I said when I was with you the second time: if I come again I will not spare you —

2 I have declared beforehand, and I say beforehand as present the second time, and now absent, to those that have sinned before, and to all the rest, that if I come again I will not spare. 2 When I was with you the second time, I gave a warning to those who had sinned. I am not there now, but I am giving another warning to them and to anyone else who has sinned: When I come to you again, I will punish you.2 I tolde you before, and tell you before: as though I had bene present the seconde time, so write I nowe being absent to them which heretofore haue sinned and to all others, that if I come againe, I will not spare,2 I have told you before, and again I tell you in advance, just as I have told you on my two previous visits; and now even while I am far away I write to those who have sinned, and to all others, that if I come again, I will not spare any one: 2 I want to tell those of you who have sinned in the past, and all the others; I said it before during my second visit to you, but I will say it again now that I am away: the next time I come nobody will escape punishment. 2 I have already said when I was present the second time, and although I[c] am absent now I also say in advance to those who sinned previously and to all the rest, that if I come again I will not spare anyone, 2 I said before, and I say beforehand, as being present the second time and being absent now, I write to those having sinned before, and all the rest, that if I come again I will not spare, 2 I have said [a]beforehand, and I do say [b]beforehand, [c]as when I was present the second time, so now, being absent, to them that have sinned heretofore, and to all the rest, that, if I come again, I will not spare; 2 I said before, and still say it before I come, as being present for the second time, though I am still away from you, to those who have done wrong before, and to all the others, that if I come again I will not have pity;2 I have said beforehand, and I do say beforehand, as when I was present the second time, so now, being absent, I write to those who have sinned before now, and to all the rest, that, if I come again, I will not spare; 2 I have already warned those who sinned previously and all the rest. Although I am absent now, I am warning them as I did on my second visit: If I come back, I will not spare you,[xr] 2 I have foretold you, and again I foretell you; as also twice while I was with you I told you, (so) now also being distant I write to those who have sinned, and to the rest of the others; that if I come again I will not spare.2 I have before said to you, and again I say to you beforehand, (as also I said to you a second time, while I was with you; and now also, while absent, I write to those who have sinned and to the others,) that if I come again, I will not spare:2 I tolde you before, and tell you before, as though I had ben present with you the seconde tyme, so write I nowe beyng absent, to them which in time past haue sinned, and to all other, that yf I come agayne, I wyll not spare,2 I have said beforehand, and I do say beforehand, as when I was present the second time, so now, being absent, to them that have sinned heretofore, and to all the rest, that, if I come again, I will not spare; 2 I have said beforehand, and I do say beforehand, as when I was present the second time, so now, being absent, I write to those who have sinned before now, and to all the rest, that, if I come again, I will not spare; 2 I told you before, and do tell before-hand (though now absent, as if I were present the second time) those who had sinned before, and all the rest, that, if I come again, I will not spare:2 Those who cling to their old sins, and indeed all of you, I have forewarned and still forewarn (as I did on my second visit when present, so I do now, though absent) that, when I come again, I shall not spare you;2 Y seide bifor, and seie bifor, as present twies, and now absent, to hem that bifor han synned, and to alle othere; for if Y come eftsoone, Y schal not spare.2 I have said beforehand, and I do say beforehand, as when I was present the second time, so now, being absent, to those that have sinned before, and to all the rest, that, if I come again, I will not spare;2 I told you before, and foretell you, as if I were present, the second time; and being absent now I write to them who heretofore have sinned, and to all others, that, if I come again, I will not spare; 2 I said before when I was present the second time and now, though absent, I say again to those who sinned previously and to all the rest, that if I come again, I will not spare anyone, 2 I have told you before, and foretell as if I were present the second time, and now being absent I write [fn] to those who have sinned before, and to all the rest, that if I come again I will not spare-- 2 I have already warned those who had been sinning when I was there on my second visit. Now I again warn them and all others, just as I did before, that next time I will not spare them. 2 During my second visit I talked to you who have been sinning and to all the others. While I am away, I tell you this again. The next time I come I will be hard on those who sin. 2 I warned those who sinned previously and all the others, and I warn them now while absent, as I did when present on my second visit, that if I come again, I will not be lenient— 2 I have said beforehand, and do say beforehand, - as present the second time, although now absent, unto them who before sinned, and unto all the rest, - that, if I come again, I will not spare.2 I have told before and foretell, as present and now absent, to them that sinned before and to all the rest, that if I come again, I will not spare.2 I warned those who sinned before and all the others, and I warn them now while absent, as I did when present on my second visit, that if I come again I will not spare them--2 I tolde you before and tell you before: and as I sayde whe I was present with you the seconde tyme so wryte I now beynge absent to them which in tyme past have synned and to all other: yt if I come agayne I will not spare2 I have said before, and I say [it] before, as being present, the second time, and being absent, now, do I write to those having sinned before, and to all the rest, that if I come again, I will not spare,2 I have said before, and I say [it] before, as being present, the second time, and being absent, now, I write to those having sinned before, and to all the rest, that if I come again, I will not spare,2 I haue tolde you before, & tell you before as present ye seconde tyme, & wryte it now beynge absent, vnto the which in tyme passed haue synned, & to all other: & yf I come agayne, I wil not spare,2 I told you once before, and now being absent I write to forewarn you and all that have sinned, that when I shall arrive, I will not spare them; 2 When I was there before, I warned those who were still sinning. I may not be there yet, but let me offer another warning to stop before I arrive. If it is still happening when I get there, they will be dealt with accordingly. 3 since you seek proof of Christ speaking in me.(C1) He is not weak in dealing with you, but powerful among you. 3 Since ye seeke a proofe of Christ, speaking in me, which to you-ward is not weake, but is mightie in you.

3 Since ye seek a proof of Christ speaking in me, which to you-ward is not weak, but is mighty in you. 3 since you seek proof that Christ (f)is speaking in me. He is not weak in dealing with you, but (g)is powerful among you.3 since you are (C1)seeking proof of the (C2)Christ who speaks in me, who is not weak toward you, but (C3)mighty in you. 3 You want proof that Christ is speaking through me. My proof is that he is not weak among you, but he is powerful. 3 since you (C1)seek forensic proof that (C2)Christ is speaking in and through me. He is not weak or ineffective in dealing with you, but (C3)powerful within you.3 since you are (C1)seeking for proof of the (C2)Christ who speaks in me, and who is not weak toward you, but (C3)mighty in you.3 since you are (C1)seeking proof that (C2)Christ speaks in me; He is not weak toward you, but (C3)mighty in you.3 since you are demanding proof that Christ is speaking through me. He is not weak in dealing with you, but is powerful among you. 3 This should prove to you that I am speaking for Christ. When he corrects you, he won't be weak. He will be powerful! 3 since you are looking for proof of the Messiah speaking in me. He is not weak in dealing with you, but he is powerful among you.

3 Since ye seek a proof of Christ speaking in me, (who is not weak towards you, but is powerful among you, 3 You want proof that Christ is speaking through me. When he deals with you, he is not weak; instead, he shows his power among you. 3 since you are demanding proof that Christ, who is not weak toward you, but is powerful among you, is speaking in me. 3 since you seek a proof of Christ speaking in me, who is not weak toward you, but is powerful in you, 3 seeing that ye seek a proof of Christ that speaketh in me; who to you-ward is not weak, but is powerful in you: 3 Seeing that you are looking for a sign of Christ giving out his word in me; who is not feeble in relation to you, but is strong in you:3 seeing that you seek a proof of Messiah that speaks in me; who toward you is not weak, but is powerful in you. 3 since you want proof that Christ is speaking through me. He is not weak in dealing with you but is making his power felt among you.[xr] 3 Inasmuch as you demand the proof of the Meshiha who speaketh in me, (of) Him who is not weak among you, but is mighty among you:3 because ye demand proof, that it is the Messiah that speaketh by me, who hath not been powerless among you, but powerful among you.3 Seyng yt ye seeke experience of Christe which speaketh in me, which to you ward is not weake, but is mighty in you.3 seeing that ye seek a proof of Christ that speaketh in me; who to you–ward is not weak, but is powerful in you: 3 seeing that you seek a proof of Christ that speaks in me; who toward you is not weak, but is powerful in you. 3 Since ye seek a proof of Christ speaking in me, who is not weak toward you, but powerful among you.3 since you want a practical proof of the fact that Christ speaks by my lips--He who is not feeble towards you, but powerful among you.3 Whether ye seken the preef of that Crist, that spekith in me, which is not feble in you?3 seeing that you seek a proof of Christ that speaks in me; who toward you is not weak, but is powerful in you:3 Since ye seek a proof of Christ speaking in me, who toward you is not weak, but is mighty in you. 3 since you are demanding proof that Christ is speaking through me. He is not weak toward you but is powerful among you. 3 since you seek a proof of Christ speaking in me, who is not weak toward you, but mighty in you.

3 I will give you all the proof you want that Christ speaks through me. He is not weak in dealing with you, but is powerful in you.3 seynge yt ye seke experience of Christ which speaketh in me which amoge you is not weake but is myghty in you.3 since a proof ye seek of the Christ speaking in me, who to you is not infirm, but is powerful in you,3 since you seek a proof of the Christ speaking in me, who is not weak to you, but is powerful in you,3 seynge that ye seke experiece of him, which speaketh in me, euen Christ, which amonge you is not weake, but is mightie amoge you.3 since you demand a proof of my mission from Christ, who with regard to you has shown no want of power among you. 3 If you need proof that Jesus speaks through me, you'll get it when he deals with you when I arrive. You'll sure enough see his power then. 4 For he was crucified(C1) in weakness, but he lives(C2) by the power of God. For we also are weak in him,(C3) but in dealing with you we will live(C4) with him by God’s power.

4 For though hee was crucified through weaknesse, yet he liueth by the power of God: for wee also are weake in him, but wee shall liue with him by the power of God toward you.

4 For though he was crucified through weakness, yet he liveth by the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we shall live with him by the power of God toward you. 4 For (h)he was crucified in weakness, but (i)lives by the power of God. For (j)we also are weak in him, but in dealing with you (k)we will live with him by the power of God.4 For indeed He was (C1)crucified because of weakness, yet He lives (C2)because of the power of God. For we too are (C3)weak (F1)in Him, yet (C4)we will live with Him because of the power of God directed toward you.

4 It is true that he was weak when he was killed on the cross, but he lives now by God's power. It is true that we are weak in Christ, but for you we will be alive in Christ by God's power.4 For even though He was (C1)crucified in weakness yielding Himself, yet He lives resurrected (C2)by the power of God His Father. For we too are (C3)weak in Him as He was humanly weak, yet we are (C4)alive and well in fellowship with Him because of the power of God directed toward you.

4 For indeed He was (C1)crucified because of weakness, yet He lives (C2)because of the power of God. For we also are (C3)weak (F1)in Him, yet (C4)we will live with Him because of the power of God directed toward you.

4 For indeed He was (C1)crucified because of weakness, yet He lives (C2)because of the power of God. For we also are (C3)weak (F1)in Him, yet (C4)we will live with Him because of the power of God toward you.

4 For He was indeed crucified in weakness, yet He lives by God’s power. And though we are weak in Him, yet by God’s power we will live with Him to serve you. 4 Although he was weak when he was nailed to the cross, he now lives by the power of God. We are weak, just as Christ was. But you will see that we will live by the power of God, just as Christ does. 4 For although he was executed on a stake in weakness, now he lives by God's power. And we too are weak in union with him, but in dealing with you we will live with him by God's power.

4 for if indeed he has been crucified in weakness, yet he lives by God's power; for indeed *we* are weak in him, but we shall live with him by God's power towards you,) 4 It is true that Christ was weak when he was killed on the cross, but he lives now by God's power. It is also true that we share his weakness, but in dealing with you, we will be alive in him by God's power.4 For though hee was crucified concerning his infirmitie, yet liueth hee through the power of God. And wee no doubt are weake in him, but we shall liue with him, through the power of God towarde you.4 For though Jesus was crucified through weakness, yet he lives by the power of God. As we are weak with him, so we are alive with him by the power of God who is among you. 4 For even though it was in weakness that he was put to death on the cross, it is by God's power that he lives. In union with him we also are weak; but in our relations with you we shall share God's power in his life. 4 For indeed, he was crucified because of weakness, but he lives because of the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we will live together with him because of the power of God toward you.4 (for even if He was crucified out of weakness, yet He lives by the power of God). For even we are weak in Him, yet we shall live by the power of God toward you. 4 for he was crucified through weakness, yet he liveth through the power of God. For we also are weak [d]in him, but we shall live with him through the power of God toward you. 4 For he was feeble in that he was put to death on the cross, but he is living by the power of God. And we are feeble in him, but we will be living with him through the power of God in relation to you.4 For he was crucified through weakness, yet he lives through the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we will live with him through the power of God toward you. 4 Though he was crucified in weakness, he lives by God's power. We are weak with him, but by God's power we will live for you.[xr] 4 -for though he was crucified in weakness, yet he liveth with the power of Aloha:-so also we are weak with you, but we live with him through the power of Aloha which is among you.4 For, though he was crucified in weakness, yet he liveth with the power of God. We also are weak with him; yet we are alive with him, by that power of God which is among you.4 For though he was crucified of weakenesse, yet liueth he of the power of God. And we no doubt, are weake in hym: but we shall lyue with hym, by ye might of God towarde you.4 for he was crucified through weakness, yet he liveth through the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we shall live with him through the power of God toward you. 4 For he was crucified through weakness, yet he lives through the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we will live with him through the power of God toward you. 4 For though he was crucified through weakness, yet he liveth by the power of God: and we also are weak with him; but we shall live with him, by the power of God in you.4 For though it is true that He was crucified through weakness, yet He now lives through the power of God. We also are weak, sharing His weakness, but with Him we shall be full of life to deal with you through the power of God.4 For thouy he was crucified of infirmyte, but he lyueth of the vertu of God. For also we ben sijk in hym, but we schulen lyue with him of the vertu of God in vs.4 for he was crucified through weakness, yet he lives through the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we shall live with him through the power of God toward you.4 For though he was crucified through weakness, yet he liveth by the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we shall live with him by the power of God towards you. 4 For indeed he was crucified by reason of weakness, but he lives because of God's power. For we also are weak in him, but we will live together with him, because of God's power toward you. 4 For though He was crucified in weakness, yet He lives by the power of God. For we also are weak in Him, but we shall live with Him by the power of God toward you. 4 Although he was crucified in weakness, he now lives by the power of God. We, too, are weak, just as Christ was, but when we deal with you we will be alive with him and will have God's power. 4 Christ's weak human body died on a cross. It is by God's power that Christ lives today. We are weak. We are as He was. But we will be alive with Christ through the power God has for us. 4 For he was crucified in weakness, but lives by the power of God. For we are weak in him,[a] but in dealing with you we will live with him by the power of God.4 For, although he was crucified through weakness, yet is he living through God's power, - for, although, we, are weak in him, yet shall we live with him, through God's power unto us- 4 For although he was crucified through weakness, yet he liveth by the power of God. For we also are weak in him: but we shall live with him by the power of God towards you.4 For he was crucified in weakness, but lives by the power of God. For we are weak in him, but in dealing with you we shall live with him by the power of God.4 And verely though it came of weaknes that he was crucified yet liveth he thorow the power of God. And we no dout are weake in him: but we shall live with him by the myght of God amonge you.4 for even if he was crucified from infirmity, yet he doth live from the power of God; for we also are weak in him, but we shall live with him from the power of God toward you.4 for even if He was crucified from weakness, yet He lives from the power of God; for we also are weak in Him, but we will live with Him from the power of God toward you.4 And though he was crucified in weaknes, yet lyueth he in the power of God. And though we are weake in him, yet lyue we with him in the power of God amonge you.4 for tho' he was crucified with the appearance of weakness, yet he lives by the power of God; tho' we are afflicted upon his account, we shall live with him by the power of God toward you. 4 He might have been nailed to a cross while he was weak, but now he rides with the full power of God. We are not different. We may be weak now, but when it comes to dealing with y'all, we will have God's full power at our disposal.

Or knowe ye not yor selues, yt Iesus Christ is in you? Excepte ye be cast awayes.5 Examine yourselves, whether you be in the faith; bring yourselves to the proof; are you so little acquainted with yourselves, as not to know whether Jesus Christ be in you? but if you are destitute of proofs, 5-9 Test yourselves to make sure you are solid in the faith. Don't drift along taking everything for granted. Give yourselves regular checkups. You need firsthand evidence, not mere hearsay, that Jesus Christ is in you. Test it out. If you fail the test, do something about it. I hope the test won't show that we have failed. But if it comes to that, we'd rather the test showed our failure than yours. We're rooting for the truth to win out in you. We couldn't possibly do otherwise.

We don't just put up with our limitations; we celebrate them, and then go on to celebrate every strength, every triumph of the truth in you. We pray hard that it will all come together in your lives.

5 So I suggest you test yourselves to see if your faith is true. If you don't realize Jesus lives in you now then you have failed the test. 6 And I hope you will recognize that we ourselves do not fail the test. 6 But I trust that yee shall knowe that we are not reprobates.

6 But I trust that ye shall know that we are not reprobates. 6 I hope you will find out that we have not failed the test.6 But I expect that you will realize that we ourselves (F1)do not fail the test. 6 But I hope you will see that we ourselves have not failed the test. 6 But I hope you will acknowledge that we do not fail the test nor are we to be rejected.6 But I trust that you will realize that we ourselves (F1)do not fail the test.6 But I hope that you will realize that we ourselves (F1)do not fail the test.6 And I hope you will realize that we have not failed the test. 6 I hope you will discover that we have not failed. 6 But I hope you will realize that we are not failures.

6 Now I hope that ye will know that *we* are not reprobates.
