1 After this, the Moabites and Ammonites, together with some of the Meunites,(F1)(C1) came to fight against Jehoshaphat.

1 It happened after this, that the children of Mo'av, and the children of `Ammon, and with them some of the Me`unim, came against Yehoshafat to battle.

(Obadiah 1:1-14)

1 After this, the Moabites and Ammonites, together with some of the Meunites(a), came to make war against Jehoshaphat.

Moab and Ammon Are Defeated

1 Some time later, the armies of Moab and Ammon, together with the Meunites,[a] went to war against Jehoshaphat.

1 Some time later, the people of Mo'av and the people of ‘Amon with other ‘Amonim came up to fight Y'hoshafat.

1 And it came to pass after this [that] the children of Moab, and the children of Ammon, and with them certain of the Maonites, came against Jehoshaphat to battle.

Jehoshaphat Faces War

1 Later, the Moabites, the Ammonites, and some Meunites[a] came to start a war with Jehoshaphat.

1 AND it came to pass after this, the children of Moab and the children of Ammon, with the mighty men of war, came against Jehoshaphat to battle.

War against Edom

1 Some time later the armies of Moab and Ammon, together with their allies, the Meunites,[a] invaded Judah.

The Prayer of Jehoshaphat

1 And it happened that afterward, the Moabites,[a] the Ammonites,[b] and some of the Meunites[c] came against Jehoshaphat for war.

1 And after this it happened that the sons of Moab and the sons of Ammon came in, and with them from the Ammonites, to battle against Jehoshaphat.

1 After this came the childre of Moab, the children of Ammon, and certayne of Amanim wt them, to fighte against Iosaphat.

1 And it came to pass after this, that the children of Moab, and the children of Ammon, and with them some of the [a]Ammonites, came against Jehoshaphat to battle.

1 After this the Moabites and Ammonites, and with them some of the Meunites,[a] came against Jehoshaphat for battle.

1 And it came to pass, after this, that the sons of Moab and the sons of Ammon, and, with them, some of the Meunim, came against Jehoshaphat, to battle.

1 After this the children of Moab, and the children of Ammon, and with them of the Ammonites, were gathered together to fight against Josaphat.

1 After this the Moabites and Ammonites, and with them some of the Me-u'nites, came against Jehosh'aphat for battle.

1 And it cometh to pass after this, the sons of Moab have come in, and the sons of Ammon, and with them of the peoples, against Jehoshaphat to battle.

1 And it comes to pass after this, the sons of Moab have come in, and the sons of Ammon, and with them of the peoples, to battle against Jehoshaphat.1-2 Some time later the Moabites and Ammonites, accompanied by Meunites, joined forces to make war on Jehoshaphat. Jehoshaphat received this intelligence report: "A huge force is on its way from beyond the Dead Sea to fight you. There's no time to waste—they're already at Hazazon Tamar, the oasis of En Gedi."

Judah Invaded

1 Now it came about after this that the sons of Moab and the sons of Ammon, together with some of the (F1)(C1)Meunites, came to make war against Jehoshaphat.2 People came and told Jehoshaphat, “A vast number from beyond the Dead Sea and from Edom(F1) has come to fight against you; they are already in Hazazon-tamar”(C1) (that is, En-gedi). 2 Then there came some who told Yehoshafat, saying, There comes a great multitude against you from beyond the sea from Aram; and, behold, they are in Hatzatzon-Tamar (the same is `En-Gedi).

2 Then there came some that told Jehoshaphat, saying, There cometh a great multitude against thee from beyond the sea on this side Syria; and, behold, they be in Hazazontamar, which is Engedi. 2 Some men came and told Jehoshaphat, "A great multitude is coming against you from Edom,[b] from beyond the sea; and, behold, they are in (b)Hazazon-tamar" (that is, (c)Engedi). 2 Messengers came and told Jehoshaphat, "A large army is coming against you from Edom, from the other side of the Dead Sea. They are already in Hazazon Tamar!" (Hazazon Tamar is also called En Gedi.) 2 Messengers arrived and reported to Jehoshaphat, "A huge army is attacking you from the other side of the Dead Sea, from the direction of Edom. Look, they are in Hazezon Tamar (that is, En Gedi)." 2 Then it was reported to Jehoshaphat, "A great multitude has come against you from beyond the Dead Sea, out of (F1)Aram (Syria); and behold, they are in (C1)Hazazon-tamar (that is, Engedi)."2 Then some came and reported to Jehoshaphat, saying, "A great multitude is coming against you from beyond the sea, from (F1)Aram; and behold, they are in (C1)Hazazon-tamar (that is Engedi)."2 Then there came some who told Jehoshaphat, saying, There comes a great multitude against you from beyond the sea from Syria; and, behold, they are in Hazazon-tamar (the same is En-gedi). 2 Then there came that tolde Iehoshaphat, saying, There commeth a great multitude against thee from beyonde the Sea, out of Aram: and beholde, they bee in Hazzon Tamar, which is En-gedi.2 Then some came and told Jehoshaphat, saying, "A great multitude is coming against you from beyond the sea, out of (F1)Aram and behold, they are in (C1)Hazazon-tamar (that is Engedi)."2 Then some men came and told Jehoshaphat, “A vast army is coming against you from Edom(a), from beyond the Sea(a); they are already in Hazazon-tamar” (that is, En-gedi). 2 Messengers told Jehoshaphat, "A large army from Edom[b] east of the Dead Sea has invaded our country. They have already reached En-Gedi."[c] 2 Y'hoshafat was told, "A huge army from beyond the [Dead] Sea, from Aram, is on its way to fight you; right now they are in Hatzatzon-Tamar" (that is, ‘Ein-Gedi).

2 And they came and told Jehoshaphat saying, A great multitude is come against thee from beyond the sea, from Syria; and behold, they are in Hazazon-tamar, which is Engedi. 2 Some men came and told Jehoshaphat, "There is a large army coming against you from Edom. They are coming from the other side of the Dead Sea. They are already in Hazazon Tamar!" (Hazazon Tamar is also called En Gedi.)2 Then there came messengers and told Jehoshaphat, saying, A great army has come against you from beyond the Red Sea; and, behold, they are encamping in Jericho, which is En-gad. 2 Some messengers came and announced to King Jehoshaphat: "A large army from Edom has come from the other side of the Dead Sea to attack you. They have already captured Hazazon Tamar." (This is another name for Engedi.) 2 And they came and reported it to Jehoshaphat, saying, "A great multitude from beyond the sea, from Aram,[d] is coming against you. Now behold, they are in Hazazon Tamar" (that is, En Gedi). 2 And they came in and spoke to Jehoshaphat, saying, A great multitude has come against you from beyond the sea, from Syria; and, behold, they are in Hazazon-tamar, which is En-gedi.2 And they came and tolde Iosaphat, and sayde: There cometh a greate multitude agaynst the from beyonde the See of Syria, & beholde, they are at Hazezon Thamar, that is Engaddi. 2 Then there came some that told Jehoshaphat, saying, There cometh a great multitude against thee from beyond the sea from Syria; and, behold, they are in Hazazon-tamar (the same is En-gedi). 2 And they came to Jehoshaphat with the news, saying, A great army is moving against you from Edom across the sea; and now they are in Hazazon-tamar (which is En-gedi).2 And there came some that told Iehosaphat, saying: There commeth a great multitude against thee from the other side of the sea, and out of Syria, and behold they be in Hasason Thamar, which is Engadi.2 Then there came some that told Jehoshaphat, saying: 'There cometh a great multitude against thee from beyond the sea from Aram; and, behold, they are in Hazazon-tamar'--the same is En-gedi.2 Then there came some that tolde Iehoshaphat, saying, There commeth a great multitude against thee from beyond the Sea on this side Syria, and behold, they bee in Hazazon-Tamar, which is En-gedi. 2 And they came and told Josaphat, saying, There is come against thee a great multitude from Syria, from beyond the sea; and, behold, they are in Asasan Thamar, this is Engadi. 2 Then there came some that told Jehoshaphat, saying, There cometh a great multitude against thee from beyond the sea from Syria; and, behold, they be in Hazazon–tamar (the same is En–gedi). 2 And messangeris camen, and schewiden to Josaphat, seiden, A greet multitude of tho placis that ben biyondis the see, and of Sirie, is comun ayens thee; and, lo! thei stonden in Asasonthamar, which is Engaddi.2 Then there came some that told Jehoshaphat, saying, There comes a great multitude against you from beyond the sea from Edom; and, look, they are in Hazazon-tamar (the same is En-gedi).2 Then there came some that told Jehoshaphat, saying, There cometh a great multitude against thee from beyond the sea on this side of Syria; and behold, they [are] in Hazazon-tamar, which [is] En-gedi.2 Then some came and told Jehoshaphat, saying, "A great multitude is coming against you from beyond the sea, from Syria; [fn] and they are in Hazazon Tamar" (which is En Gedi). 2 Messengers came and told Jehoshaphat, "A vast army from Edom[b] is marching against you from beyond the Dead Sea.[c] They are already at Hazazon-tamar." (This was another name for En-gedi.) 2 Some men came and told Jehoshaphat, "Very many people are coming against you from the other side of the sea, from Syria. See, they are in Hazazon-tamar (that is, Engedi)." 2 Messengers[b] came and told Jehoshaphat, "A great multitude is coming against you from Edom,[c] from beyond the sea; already they are at Hazazon-tamar" (that is, En-gedi). 2 And there came some and told Jehoshaphat, saying, There is coming against thee, a great multitude from beyond the sea, from Syria, - and lo! they are in Hazazon-tamar, the same, is Engedi.2 And there came messengers, and told Josaphat, saying: There cometh a great multitude against thee from beyond the sea, and out of Syria, and behold they are in Asasonthamar, which is Engaddi.2 Some men came and told Jehosh'aphat, "A great multitude is coming against you from Edom, from beyond the sea; and, behold, they are in Haz'azon-ta'mar" (that is, En-ge'di).2 And they come in and declare to Jehoshaphat, saying, `Come against thee hath a great multitude from beyond the sea, from Aram, and lo, they [are] in Hazezon-Tamar -- it [is] En-Gedi.'2 And [some] come in and declare [it] to Jehoshaphat, saying, "A great multitude has come against you from beyond the sea, from Aram, and behold, they [are] in Hazezon-Tamar—it [is] En-Gedi."2 Then some came and reported to Jehoshaphat, saying, "A great multitude is coming against you from beyond the sea, out of (F1)Aram and behold, they are in (C1)Hazazon-tamar (that is Engedi)."3 Jehoshaphat was afraid, and he resolved(C1) to seek the Lord. Then he proclaimed a fast(C2) for all Judah, 3 Yehoshafat feared, and set himself to seek to the LORD; and he proclaimed a fast throughout all Yehudah.

3 And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the Lord, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah. 3 Then Jehoshaphat was afraid and set his face (d)to seek the Lord, and (e)proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah. 3 Jehoshaphat was afraid, so he decided to ask the Lord what to do. He announced that everyone in Judah should fast during this special time of prayer to God. 3 Jehoshaphat was afraid, so he decided to seek the Lord's advice. He decreed that all Judah should observe a fast. 3 Then Jehoshaphat was afraid and (C1)set himself determinedly, as his vital need to seek the LORD; and he (C2)proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.3 Jehoshaphat was afraid and (F1)(C1)turned his attention to seek the LORD; and he (C2)proclaimed a period of fasting throughout Judah.3 Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek to Yahweh; and he proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah. 3 And Iehoshaphat feared, and set him selfe to seeke the Lord, & proclaimed a fast throughout all Iudah.3 And Jehoshaphat was afraid and (F1)(C1)set his face to seek Yahweh, and (C2)called for a fast throughout all Judah.3 Jehoshaphat was alarmed and set his face to seek the LORD. And he proclaimed a fast throughout Judah.

3 Jehoshaphat was afraid, so he asked the Lord what to do. He then told the people of Judah to go without eating to show their sorrow. 3 Y'hoshafat was frightened, so he determined to seek Adonai. He proclaimed a fast throughout all Y'hudah,

3 And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek Jehovah, and proclaimed a fast throughout Judah. 3 Jehoshaphat became afraid, and he decided to ask the Lord what to do. He announced a time of fasting for everyone in Judah.3 And Jehoshaphat feared, and he raised up his face to pray before the LORD and proclaimed a fast for all the inhabitants of Judah. And he said to them, Gather yourselves together and come let us beseech the LORD our God. 3 Jehoshaphat was frightened and prayed to the Lord for guidance. Then he gave orders for a fast to be observed throughout the country. 3 Then Jehoshaphat was afraid and set his face to seek Yahweh. And he called for a fast through all Judah. 3 And Jehoshaphat feared, and set his face to seek to Jehovah, and proclaimed a fast over all Judah.3 And Iosaphat was afrayed, & set his face to seke ye LORDE, & caused a fast to be proclamed in all Iuda. 3 And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek unto Jehovah; and he proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah. 3 Then Jehoshaphat, in his fear, went to the Lord for directions, and gave orders all through Judah for the people to go without food.3 And Iehosaphat feared, & set him selfe to seke the Lorde: and proclaymed fasting throughout all Iuda.3 And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek unto the LORD; and he proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.3 And Iehoshaphat feared, and set himselfe to seeke the Lord, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Iudah. 3 And Josaphat was alarmed, and set his face to seek the Lord earnestly, and he proclaimed a fast in all Juda. 3 And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek unto the LORD; and he proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah. 3 Forsothe Josaphat was aferd by drede, and `yaf hym silf al for to preye `the Lord, and prechide fastynge to al Juda.3 And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek to Yahweh; and he proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.3 And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the LORD, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.3 And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the LORD, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.

3 Jehoshaphat was terrified by this news and begged the Lord for guidance. He also ordered everyone in Judah to begin fasting. 3 Jehoshaphat was afraid and decided to call on the Lord. He made a special time of not eating in all Judah. 3 Jehoshaphat was afraid; he set himself to seek the Lord, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah. 3 And Jehoshaphat was afraid, and set his face to seek unto Yahweh, - and proclaimed a fast for all Judah.3 And Josaphat being seized with fear betook himself wholly to pray to the Lord, and he proclaimed a fast for all Juda.3 Then Jehosh'aphat feared, and set himself to seek the LORD, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.3 And Jehoshaphat feareth, and setteth his face to seek to Jehovah, and proclaimeth a fast over all Judah;3 And Jehoshaphat fears, and sets his face to seek for YHWH, and proclaims a fast over all Judah;3-4 Shaken, Jehoshaphat prayed. He went to God for help and ordered a nationwide fast. The country of Judah united in seeking God's help—they came from all the cities of Judah to pray to God.3 Jehoshaphat was afraid and (F1)(C1)turned his attention to seek the LORD, and (C2)proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.4 who gathered to seek the Lord. They even came from all the cities of Judah to seek him.

4 Yehudah gathered themselves together, to seek [help] of the LORD: even out of all the cities of Yehudah they came to seek the LORD.

4 And Judah gathered themselves together, to ask help of the Lord: even out of all the cities of Judah they came to seek the Lord. 4 And Judah assembled to seek help from the Lord; from all the cities of Judah they came to seek the Lord. 4 The people of Judah came together to ask the Lord for help; they came from every town in Judah. 4 The people of Judah assembled to ask for the Lord's help; they came from all the cities of Judah to ask for the Lord's help.4 So the people of Judah gathered together to (C1)seek help from the LORD; indeed they came from all the cities of Judah to seek the LORD longing for Him with all their heart.4 So Judah gathered together to (C1)seek help from the LORD; they even came from all the cities of Judah to seek the LORD.4 Judah gathered themselves together, to seek [help] of Yahweh: even out of all the cities of Judah they came to seek Yahweh. 4 And Iudah gathered them selues together to aske counsel of the Lord: they came euen out of all the cities of Iudah to inquire of the Lord,4 So Judah gathered together to (C1)seek help from Yahweh; they even came from all the cities of Judah to seek Yahweh.4 So the people of Judah gathered to seek the LORD, and indeed, they came from all the cities of Judah to seek Him. 4 They immediately left for Jerusalem to ask for the Lord's help. 4 and Y'hudah assembled to seek help from Adonai; they came from all the cities of Y'hudah to seek Adonai.

4 And Judah gathered themselves together to ask [help] of Jehovah: even out of all the cities of Judah they came to seek Jehovah. 4 The people of Judah came together to ask the Lord for help. They came from out of all the towns of Judah to ask for the Lord's help.4 And all the inhabitants of Judah gathered themselves together, even from far off cities, and they came to beseech the LORD. 4 From every city of Judah people hurried to Jerusalem to ask the Lord for guidance, 4 And Judah assembled to seek after Yahweh; even from all the cities of Judah they came to seek Yahweh.4 And Judah was gathered to inquire of Jehovah; also they came in to seek Jehovah from all the cities of Judah.4 And Iuda came together to seke the LORDE. And out of all ye cities of Iuda came they to seke the LORDE. 4 And Judah gathered themselves together, to seek help of Jehovah: even out of all the cities of Judah they came to seek Jehovah.4 And Judah came together to make prayer for help from the Lord; from every town of Judah they came to give worship to the Lord.4 And they that were in Iuda gathered the selues together to aske counsel of the Lord: And they came out of al the cities of Iuda, to make intercession to ye lord.4 And Judah gathered themselves together, to seek help of the LORD; even out of all the cities of Judah they came to seek the LORD.4 And Iudah gathered themselues together, to aske helpe of the Lord: euen out of all the cities of Iudah they came to seeke the Lord. 4 And Juda gathered themselves together to seek after the Lord: even from all the cities of Juda they came to seek the Lord. 4 And Judah gathered themselves together, to seek [help] of the LORD: even out of all the cities of Judah they came to seek the LORD. 4 And Juda was gaderid togidere for to preye the Lord, but also alle men camen fro her citees for to biseche hym.4 And Judah gathered themselves together, to seek [help] of Yahweh: even out of all the cities of Judah they came to seek Yahweh.4 And Judah assembled, to ask [help] of the LORD: even from all the cities of Judah they came to seek the LORD.4 So Judah gathered together to ask help from the LORD; and from all the cities of Judah they came to seek the LORD. 4 So people from all the towns of Judah came to Jerusalem to seek the Lord's help. 4 And Judah gathered together to pray for help from the Lord. They came to the Lord from all the cities of Judah to call on the Lord. 4 Judah assembled to seek help from the Lord; from all the towns of Judah they came to seek the Lord.4 And Judah gathered themselves together, to enquire of Yahweh, - even, out of all the cities of Judah, came they in, to seek Yahweh.4 And Juda gathered themselves together to pray to the Lord: and all came out of their cities to make supplication to him.4 And Judah assembled to seek help from the LORD; from all the cities of Judah they came to seek the LORD.4 and Judah is gathered to inquire of Jehovah; also, from all the cities of Judah they have come in to seek Jehovah.4 and Judah is gathered to inquire of YHWH; also, from all the cities of Judah they have come to seek YHWH.4 So Judah gathered together to (C1)seek help from the LORD; they even came from all the cities of Judah to seek the LORD.

Jehoshaphat’s Prayer

5 Then Jehoshaphat stood in the assembly of Judah and Jerusalem in the Lord’s temple before the new courtyard. 5 Yehoshafat stood in the assembly of Yehudah and Yerushalayim, in the house of the LORD, before the new court;

5 The people of Judah and Jerusalem met in front of the new courtyard in the Temple of the Lord. Then Jehoshaphat stood up,

5 After everyone from Judah and Jerusalem had come together at the Lord's temple, Jehoshaphat stood in front of the new courtyard

5 Standing in front of the new courtyard in the house of Adonai, among those assembled from Y'hudah and Yerushalayim,

5 And Jehoshaphat stood in the congregation of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of Jehovah, before the new court; 5 Jehoshaphat was in the new courtyard of the Lord's Temple. He stood up in the meeting of the people from Judah and Jerusalem5 And Jehoshaphat stood in the midst of the assembly of Judah in the house of the LORD, which is in Jerusalem, before the new court, 5 and they and the people of Jerusalem gathered in the new courtyard of the Temple. Jehoshaphat's Prayer and Victory

5 Jehoshaphat stood in the assembly of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the Lord, before the new court, 5 And Jehoshaphat stood, in the convocation of Judah and Jerusalem in the house of Yahweh, - before the new court;5 And Josaphat stood in the midst of the assembly of Juda, and Jerusalem, in the house of the Lord before the new court,5 And Jehosh'aphat stood in the assembly of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the LORD, before the new court,5 And Jehoshaphat standeth in the assembly of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of Jehovah, at the front of the new court,5 And Jehoshaphat stands in the assembly of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of YHWH, at the front of the new court,5-9 Then Jehoshaphat took a position before the assembled people of Judah and Jerusalem at The Temple of God in front of the new courtyard and said, "O God, God of our ancestors, are you not God in heaven above and ruler of all kingdoms below? You hold all power and might in your fist—no one stands a chance against you! And didn't you make the natives of this land leave as you brought your people Israel in, turning it over permanently to your people Israel, the descendants of Abraham your friend? They have lived here and built a holy house of worship to honor you, saying, ‘When the worst happens—whether war or flood or disease or famine—and we take our place before this Temple (we know you are personally present in this place!) and pray out our pain and trouble, we know that you will listen and give victory.'

Jehoshaphat's Prayer

5 Then Jehoshaphat stood in the assembly of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the LORD before the new court,6 He said:

6 and he said, LORD, the God of our fathers, aren't you God in heaven? and aren't you ruler over all the kingdoms of the nations? and in your hand is power and might, so that none is able to withstand you.

6 And said, O Lord God of our fathers, art not thou God in heaven? and rulest not thou over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in thine hand is there not power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee? 6 and said, "O Lord, God of our fathers, are you not (f)God in heaven? You (g)rule over all the kingdoms of the nations. (h)In your hand are power and might, so that none is able to withstand you. 6 and he said, "Lord, God of our ancestors, you are the God in heaven. You rule over all the kingdoms of the nations. You have power and strength, so no one can stand against you. 6 He prayed: "O Lord God of our ancestors, you are the God who lives in heaven and rules over all the kingdoms of the nations. You possess strength and power; no one can stand against you. 6 and said, "O LORD, God of our fathers, (C1)are You not God in heaven? And (C2)do You not rule over all the kingdoms of the nations? Power and might are in Your hand, there is no one able to take a stand against You.6 and he said, "LORD, God of our fathers, (C1)are You not God in the heavens? And (C2)are You not ruler over all the kingdoms of the nations? Power and might are in Your hand so that no one can stand against You.6 and he said, Yahweh, the God of our fathers, aren't you God in heaven? and aren't you ruler over all the kingdoms of the nations? and in your hand is power and might, so that none is able to withstand you. 6 And saide, O Lorde God of our fathers, art not thou God in heauen? and reignest not thou on all the kingdomes of the heathen? and in thine hande is power and might, and none is able to withstand thee.6 and he said, "O Yahweh, the God of our fathers, (C1)are You not God in the heavens? And (C2)are You not ruler over all the kingdoms of the nations? Power and might are in Your hand so that no one can take their stand against You.6 and said, “O LORD, God of our fathers, are You not the God who is in heaven, and do You not rule over all the kingdoms of the nations? Power and might are in Your hand, and no one can stand against You. 6 and prayed:

You, Lord, are the God our ancestors worshiped, and from heaven you rule every nation in the world. You are so powerful that no one can defeat you. 6 he said: "Adonai, God of our ancestors, you alone are God in heaven. You rule all the kingdoms of the nations. In your hand are power and strength, so that no one can withstand you.

6 and he said, Jehovah, God of our fathers, art not thou God in the heavens, and rulest thou not over all the kingdoms of the nations? And in thy hand there is power and might, and none can withstand thee. 6 and said,

"Lord God of our ancestors, you are the God in heaven. You rule over all the kingdoms in all the nations. You have power and strength. No one can stand against you.6 And he prayed and said, O LORD God of our fathers, thou art the God in heaven, and thou art ruler over all the kingdoms of the world, and thine is power and might, and now I stand before thee praying. 6 and prayed aloud, "O Lord God of our ancestors, you rule in heaven over all the nations of the world. You are powerful and mighty, and no one can oppose you. 6 And he said, "O Yahweh, God of our ancestors,[e] are you not God in heaven? Now you rule in all the kingdoms of the nations, and in your hand are power and might, and there is none who can resist against you. 6 and said, O Jehovah, the God of our fathers, are not You the God in Heaven? Yea, You rule over all the kingdoms of the nations, and in Your hand is power and might; and there is none able to withstand You.6 and sayde: O LORDE God of oure fathers, art not thou God in heauen, and hast domynion in all the kyngdomes of the Heythen? And in thy hande is strength and power, and there is no man that can withstode the. 6 and he said, O Jehovah, the God of our fathers, art not thou God in heaven? and art not thou ruler over all the kingdoms of the nations? and in thy hand is power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee. 6 And said, O Lord, the God of our fathers, are you not God in heaven? are you not ruler over all the kingdoms of the nations? and in your hands are power and strength so that no one is able to keep his place against you.6 And sayd: O Lord God of our fathers, art not thou God in heauen, and raignest not thou on all the kingdomes of the Heathen, and in thyne hande is power and might, and there is no man that is able to withstande thee?6 and he said: 'O LORD, the God of our fathers, art not Thou alone God in heaven? and art not Thou ruler over all the kingdoms of the nations? and in Thy hand is power and might, so that none is able to withstand Thee.6 And said, O Lord God of our fathers, art not thou God in heauen? and rulest not thou ouer all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in thine hand is there not power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee? 6 And he said, O Lord God of my fathers, art not thou God in heaven above, and art not thou Lord of all the kingdoms of the nations? and is there not in thy hand the might of dominion, and there is no one who can resist thee? 6 and he said, O LORD, the God of our fathers, art not thou God in heaven? and art not thou ruler over all the kingdoms of the nations? and in thine hand is power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee. 6 he seide, Lord God of oure fadris, thou art God in heuene, and thou art lord of alle rewmes of folkis; strengthe and power ben in thin hond, `and noon may ayenstonde thee.6 and he said, O Yahweh, the God of our fathers, are not you God in heaven? and are not you ruler over all the kingdoms of the nations? and in your hand is power and might, so that none is able to withstand you.6 And said, O LORD God of our fathers, [art] not thou God in heaven? and rulest thou [not] over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in thy hand [is there not] power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee?6 and said: "O LORD God of our fathers, are You not God in heaven, and do You not rule over all the kingdoms of the nations, and in Your hand is there not power and might, so that no one is able to withstand You? 6 He prayed, "O Lord, God of our ancestors, you alone are the God who is in heaven. Do you not rule over all the kingdoms of the nations? In your hand are power and might, so that no one is able to withstand you. 6 and said, O Yahweh, God of our fathers, art not, thou, God in the heavens? and art, thou, not ruling throughout all the kingdoms of the nations? and, in thy hand, are there not strength and might? and is there any who, against thee, can stand?6 And said: O Lord God of our fathers, thou art God in heaven, and rulest over all the kingdoms and nations, in thy hand is strength and power, and no one can resist thee.6 and said, "O LORD, God of our fathers, art thou not God in heaven? Dost thou not rule over all the kingdoms of the nations? In thy hand are power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee.6 and saith, `O Jehovah, God of our fathers, art not Thou -- God in the heavens? yea, Thou art ruling over all kingdoms of the nations, and in Thy hand [is] power and might, and there is none with Thee to station himself.6 and says, "O YHWH, God of our fathers, are You not God in the heavens? Indeed, You are ruling over all kingdoms of the nations, and power and might [are] in Your hand, and there is none with You to station himself.6 and he said, "O LORD, the God of our fathers, (C1)are You not God in the heavens? And (C2)are You not ruler over all the kingdoms of the nations? Power and might are in Your hand so that no one can stand against You.

Lord, God of our ancestors, are you not the God who is in heaven,(C1) and do you not rule over all the kingdoms of the nations?(C2) Power and might are in your hand, and no one can stand against you. 7 Are you not our God who drove out the inhabitants of this land before your people Israel(C1) and who gave it forever to the descendants of Abraham(C2) your friend?
