A Warning About False Teachers

¹ Now the spirit says expresly, that in the latter times some shall abandon the faith, by giving credit to seducing spirits, and the doctrine concerning demons; ^1-5 The Spirit makes it clear that as time goes on, some are going to give up on the faith and chase after demonic illusions put forth by professional liars. These liars have lied so well and for so long that they've lost their capacity for truth. They will tell you not to get married. They'll tell you not to eat this or that food—perfectly good food God created to be eaten heartily and with thanksgiving by believers who know better! Everything God created is good, and to be received with thanks. Nothing is to be sneered at and thrown out. God's Word and our prayers make every item in creation holy.

¹ Now the Holy Ghost has warned us. Later on, people will forsake the brand of God and follow the ways of demons instead. ² through the hypocrisy^(C1) of liars whose consciences^(C2) are seared. ² Speaking lies in hypocrisie, hauing their conscience seared with a hote iron,

² Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; ² through the insincerity of ^(d)liars whose consciences are seared,² by means of the hypocrisy of liars ^(C1)seared in their own conscience as with a branding iron, ² Such teachings come from the false words of liars whose consciences are destroyed as if by a hot iron. ² by means of the hypocrisy of liars ^(C1)seared in their own conscience as with a branding iron,² by the hypocrisy of liars, who have been ^(C1)seared in their own conscience,² influenced by the hypocrisy of liars, whose consciences are seared with a hot iron. ² They will also be fooled by the false claims of liars whose consciences have lost all feeling. These liars ² Such teachings come from the hypocrisy of liars whose own consciences have been burned, as if with a red-hot branding iron.

² speaking lies in hypocrisy, cauterised as to their own conscience, ² Those teachings come through people who tell lies and trick others. These evil people cannot see what is right and what is wrong. It is like their conscience has been destroyed with a hot iron.² Which speake lies through hypocrisie, & haue their cosciences burned wt an hote yron,² Who with false appearance mislead and speak lies and are seared in their own conscience; ² Such teachings are spread by deceitful liars, whose consciences are dead, as if burnt with a hot iron. ² by the hypocrisy of liars, who are seared in their own conscience, ² in lying speakers in hypocrisy, being seared in their own conscience,² misled by the hypocrisy of liars whose consciences are ^(C1)seared as with a branding iron leaving them incapable of ethical functioning, ² through the hypocrisy of men that speak lies, ^[a]branded in their own conscience as with a hot iron; ² Through the false ways of men whose words are untrue, whose hearts are burned as with a heated iron;² through the hypocrisy of men who speak lies, branded in their own conscience as with a hot iron; ² and the hypocrisy of liars, whose consciences have been burned by a hot iron.[xr] ² These, with a false appearance, will deceive, speaking a lie, and seared in their conscience,² These will seduce, by a false appearance; and will utter a lie, and will be seared in their conscience;² Which speake false in hypocrisie, hauyng their conscience seared with an hotte iron:² through the hypocrisy of men that speak lies, branded in their own conscience as with a hot iron; ² through the hypocrisy of men who speak lies, branded in their own conscience as with a hot iron; ² By the hypocrisy of them that speak lies, having their own consciences seared as with an hot iron:² through the hypocrisy of men who teach falsely and have their own consciences seared as with a hot iron;² and haue her conscience corrupt,² through the hypocrisy of men that speak lies, branded in their own conscience as with a hot iron;² Speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their conscience seared with a hot iron; ² influenced by the hypocrisy of liars whose consciences are seared. ² speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron, ² These people are hypocrites and liars, and their consciences are dead.^{[a] 2} Those who teach this tell it as the truth when they know it is a lie. They do it so much that their own hearts no longer say it is wrong. ² through the hypocrisy of liars whose consciences are seared with a hot iron. ² in hypocrisy, speaking falsehood, of demons cauterised in their own conscience, - ² Speaking lies in hypocrisy and having their conscience seared,² through the pretensions of liars whose consciences are seared,² which speake falce thorow ypocrisye and have their consciences marked with an hote yron² in hypocrisy speaking lies, being seared in their own conscience,² speaking lies in hypocrisy, being seared in their own conscience,² which speake false thorow ypocrysie, and haue their coscience marked with an whote yron,² broach'd by hypocrititical impostors, whose consciences are cauteriz'd, ² Their teaching will come from liars who will adhere to a double standard. Their consciences will be like ash from a fire. ³ They forbid marriage^(C1) and demand abstinence^(C2) from foods that God created^(C3) to be received with gratitude by those who believe and know the truth. ³ Forbidding to marry, and commanding to absteine from meates, which God hath created to bee receiued with thankesgiuing of them which beleeue, and know the trueth.

But God created these foods to be eaten with thankful hearts by his followers who know the truth. ³ They forbid marriage and require abstinence from foods which God created to be eaten with thanksgiving by those who have come to trust and to know the truth.

And they say that there are some foods that people must not eat. Food comes from God so that we can give thanks. We who know the truth know who to believe. ⁴ For everything created by God is good,^(C1) and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving,^{(C2) 4} For euery creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be receiued with thankesgiuing:

A Good Servant of Jesus Christ

⁶ If you point these things out to the brothers and sisters, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, nourished by the words of the faith^(C1) and the good teaching that you have followed.^(C2)

⁶ If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Iesus Christ, nourished vp in the wordes of faith, and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.

A Good Servant of Christ Jesus

^6 (m)If you put these things before the brothers,^[a] you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, being trained in the words of the faith and of the good doctrine that you have ⁽ⁿ⁾followed.
