Building the Temple

¹ Solomon began to build the temple for the Lord in the four hundred eightieth year^(C1) after the Israelites came out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of his reign over Israel, in the month of Ziv, which is the second month.^(F1)(C2)

¹ It happened in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Yisra'el were come out of the land of Mitzrayim, in the fourth year of Shlomo's reign over Yisra'el, in the month Ziv, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of the LORD.

¹ And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month Zif, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of the Lord.

Solomon Builds the Temple

¹ Solomon began to build the Temple four hundred eighty years after the people of Israel had left Egypt. This was during the fourth year of King Solomon's rule over Israel. It was the second month, the month of Ziv.

¹ In the four hundred and eightieth year after the Israelites left Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, during the month Ziv (the second month), he began building the Lord's temple.

The House Solomon Built for Yahweh

^1 (C1)Now it happened in the four hundred and eightieth year after the sons of Israel came out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month of Ziv which is the second month, that he ^(F1)began to build the house of Yahweh.

The Outside of the Temple Is Completed

¹ Solomon's workers started building the temple during Ziv,^[a] the second month of the year. It had been four years since Solomon became king of Israel, and four hundred eighty years since the people of Israel left Egypt.

¹ It was in the 480th year after the people of Isra'el had left the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Shlomo's reign over Isra'el, in the month of Ziv, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of Adonai.

¹ And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month Zif, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of Jehovah.

Solomon Builds the Temple

¹ So in the month of Ziv, the second month of the year, during Solomon's fourth year as king, he began work on the Temple. This was 480 years after the Israelites left Egypt.^[a]

¹ AND it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomons reign over Israel, in the month of May, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of the LORD.

¹ Four hundred and eighty years after the people of Israel left Egypt, during the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the second month, the month of Ziv, Solomon began work on the Temple.

Solomon Builds the Temple for Yahweh

¹ It happened in the four hundred and eightieth year after the Israelites^[a] went out from the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's rule^[b] over Israel, the month of Ziv (that is the second month), that he began to build the house for Yahweh.

¹ And it happened in the four hundred and eightieth year from the going out of the sons of Israel from the land of Egypt, in the fourth year, in the month of Zif, it is the second month, in the reigning of Solomon over Israel he built the house for Jehovah.

¹ In the foure hundreth and foure score yeare after the departinge of the children of Israel out of the londe of Egipte, in the fourth yeare of the raigne of Salomon ouer Israel, in the moneth Sif (yt is the seconde moneth) was the house buylded vnto the LORDE.

¹ And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month Ziv, which is the second month, that he ^[a]began to build the house of Jehovah.

¹ In the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel came out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year that Solomon was king of Israel, in the month Ziv, which is the second month, the building of the Lord's house was started.

¹ And it came to passe, that in the foure hundred & fourescore yere, after the childre of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, and in the fourth yere of the rayne of Solomon vpon Israel, & in the moneth Zif, which is the second moneth, he began to build the house of the Lorde.

Temple Construction Begins

(2 Chronicles 3:1-2)

¹ In the four hundred and eightieth^(a) year after the Israelites had come out of the land of Egypt, in the month of Ziv, the second month of the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, he began to build the house of the LORD.

¹ Forsothe it was doon in the fourthe hundrid and fourescore yeer of the goynge out of the sones of Israel fro the lond of Egipt, in the fourthe yeer, in the monethe Zio; thilke is the secounde monethe of the rewme of Salomon on Israel; he bigan to bilde an hows to the Lord.

¹ And it cometh to pass, in the four hundred and eightieth year of the going out of the sons of Israel from the land of Egypt, in the fourth year -- in the month of Zif, it [is] the second month -- of the reigning of Solomon over Israel, that he buildeth the house for Jehovah.

¹ And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the sons of Israel had come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month Ziv, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of Yahweh.

¹ And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel had come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month of Zif, which [is] the second month, that he began to build the house of the LORD.

Solomon Builds the Temple

¹ It was in midspring, in the month of Ziv,^[a] during the fourth year of Solomon's reign, that he began to construct the Temple of the Lord. This was 480 years after the people of Israel were rescued from their slavery in the land of Egypt.

¹ In the 480th year after the people of Israel came out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's rule over Israel, in the month of Ziv, the second month, he began to build the house of the Lord.

¹ In the four hundred eightieth year after the Israelites came out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month of Ziv, which is the second month, he began to build the house of the Lord.

¹ And so it came to pass, in the four hundred and eightieth year, by the coming forth of the sons of Israel out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year (in the month of Zif, the same, being the second month) of the reign of Solomon over Israel, that he began to build the house unto Yahweh.

¹ And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel came out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of the reign of Solomon over Israel, in the month Zio, (the same is the second month) he began to build a house to the Lord.

¹ In the four hundred and eightieth year after the people of Israel came out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month of Ziv, which is the second month, he began to build the house of the LORD.

¹ And it comes to pass, in the four hundred and eightieth year of the going out of the sons of Israel from the land of Egypt, in the fourth year—in the month of Ziv, it [is] the second month—of the reigning of Solomon over Israel, that he builds the house for YHWH.^1-6 Four hundred and eighty years after the Israelites came out of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's rule over Israel, in the month of Ziv, the second month, Solomon started building The Temple of God. The Temple that King Solomon built to God was ninety feet long, thirty feet wide, and forty-five feet high. There was a porch across the thirty-foot width of The Temple that extended out fifteen feet. Within The Temple he made narrow, deep-silled windows. Against the outside walls he built a supporting structure in which there were smaller rooms: The lower floor was seven and a half feet wide, the middle floor nine feet, and the third floor ten and a half feet. He had projecting ledges built into the outside Temple walls to support the buttressing beams.

^1 (C1)Now it came about in the four hundred and eightieth year after the sons of Israel came out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month of Ziv which is the second month, that he ^(F1)began to build the house of the LORD.² The temple that King Solomon built for the Lord^(C1) was ninety feet^(F1) long, thirty feet^(F2) wide, and forty-five feet^(F3) high.^{(C2) 2} The house which king Shlomo built for the LORD, the length of it was sixty cubits, and the breadth of it twenty [cubits], and the height of it thirty cubits.

² And the house which king Solomon built for the Lord, the length thereof was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof twenty cubits, and the height thereof thirty cubits. ^2 (c)The house that King Solomon built for the Lord was sixty cubits^[a] long, twenty cubits wide, and thirty cubits high.

² The Temple was ninety feet long, thirty feet wide, and forty-five feet high. ² The temple King Solomon built for the Lord was 90 feet long, 30 feet wide, and 45 feet high. ² The length of the house which King Solomon built for the LORD was ^(F1)sixty cubits (90 ft.), its width twenty (30 ft.), and its height thirty cubits (45 ft.).² And the house which King Solomon built for the LORD was ^(F1)sixty cubits in its length, and twenty cubits in its width, and its height was thirty cubits.² And the house which King Salomon built for the Lorde, was three score cubites long, and twentie broade, and thirtie cubites hie.² As for the house which King Solomon built for Yahweh, its length was ^(F1)sixty cubits and its width twenty cubits and its height thirty cubits.

² The inside of the Lord's temple was ninety feet long, thirty feet wide, and forty-five feet high. ² The house which King Shlomo built for Adonai was 105 feet long, thirty-five feet wide and fifty-two-and-a-half feet high.

² And the house that king Solomon built for Jehovah was sixty cubits in length, and twenty in breadth, and thirty cubits in height. ² The Temple was 60 cubits^[b] long, 20 cubits^[c] wide, and 30 cubits^[d] high.² And the house which Solomon built for the LORD was in length sixty cubits and in breadth twenty cubits and in height thirty cubits. ² Inside it was 90 feet long, 30 feet wide, and 45 feet high. ² Now the house that King Solomon built for Yahweh was sixty cubits in its length and twenty cubits in its width and thirty cubits in its height. ² As to the house that King Solomon built for Jehovah, its length was sixty cubits, its breadth twenty, and its height thirty cubits.² This house that kynge Salomon buylded vnto ye LORDE, was thre score cubytes loge, twenty cubytes brode, & thirtie cubites hye. ² And the house which king Solomon built for Jehovah, the length thereof was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof twenty cubits, and the height thereof thirty cubits. ² The house which Solomon made for the Lord was sixty cubits long, twenty cubits wide and thirty cubits high.² And the house which king Solomon built for the Lorde, was threescore cubites long, and twentie cubites broade, and thirtie cubites hie.² And the house which king Solomon built for the LORD, the length thereof was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof twenty cubits, and the height thereof thirty cubits.² And the house which king Solomon built for the Lord, the length thereof was threescore cubites, and the breadth thereof twentie cubits, and the height thereof thirtie cubites. ² And the house which the king built to the Lord was forty cubits in length, and twenty cubits in breadth, and its height five and twenty cubits. ² And the house which king Solomon built for the LORD, the length thereof was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof twenty [cubits], and the height thereof thirty cubits. ² The house that King Solomon built for the LORD was sixty cubits long, twenty cubits wide, and thirty cubits high^(a).² Forsothe the hows which kyng Salomon bildide to the Lord, hadde sexti cubitis in lengthe, and twenti cubitis in breede, and thretti cubitis in heiythe.² As to the house that king Solomon hath built for Jehovah, sixty cubits [is] its length, and twenty its breadth, and thirty cubits its height.² And the house which king Solomon built for Yahweh, the length thereof was threescore cubits, and the width thereof twenty [cubits], and the height thereof thirty cubits.² And the house which king Solomon built for the LORD, the length of it [was] sixty cubits, and the breadth of it twenty [cubits], and the hight of it thirty cubits.² The house which king Solomon built for Yahweh, the length of it was sixty cubits, and the breadth of it twenty [cubits], and the height of it thirty cubits. ² Now the house which King Solomon built for the LORD, its length was sixty cubits, its width twenty, and its height thirty cubits.

² The Temple that King Solomon built for the Lord was 90 feet long, 30 feet wide, and 45 feet high.^{[b] 2} The house which King Solomon built for the Lord was as long as thirty long steps, as wide as ten long steps, and eight times taller than a man. ² The house that King Solomon built for the Lord was sixty cubits long, twenty cubits wide, and thirty cubits high. ² Now, the house which King Solomon built unto Yahweh, was sixty cubits in length, and twenty in breadth, - and thirty cubits in height.² And the house, which king Solomon built to the Lord, was threescore cubits in length, and twenty cubits in breadth, and thirty cubits in height.² The house which King Solomon built for the LORD was sixty cubits long, twenty cubits wide, and thirty cubits high.² As for the house that King Solomon has built for YHWH, its length [is] sixty cubits, and its breadth twenty, and its height thirty cubits.² As for the house which King Solomon built for the LORD, its length was sixty ^(F1)cubits and its width twenty cubits and its height thirty cubits.³ The portico in front of the temple sanctuary was thirty feet long extending across the temple’s width, and fifteen feet deep^(F1) in front of the temple.^{(C1) 3} The porch before the temple of the house, twenty cubits was the length of it, according to the breadth of the house; [and] ten cubits was the breadth of it before the house.

³ And the porch before the temple of the house, twenty cubits was the length thereof, according to the breadth of the house; and ten cubits was the breadth thereof before the house. ³ The vestibule in front of the nave of the house was twenty cubits long, equal to the width of the house, and ten cubits deep in front of the house. ³ The porch in front of the main room of the Temple was fifteen feet deep and thirty feet wide. This room ran along the front of the Temple itself. Its width was equal to that of the Temple. ³ The porch in front of the main hall of the temple was 30 feet long, corresponding to the width of the temple. It was 15 feet wide, extending out from the front of the temple. ³ The porch in front of the main room of the house (temple) was twenty cubits long, corresponding to the width of the house, and its depth in front of the house was ten cubits.³ The porch in front of the main room of the house was ^(F1)twenty cubits in ^(F2)length, ^(F3)corresponding to the width of the house, and its width along the front of the house was ten cubits.³ And the porch before the Temple of the house was twentie cubites long according to the breadth of the house, and ten cubites broade before the house.³ And the porch in front of the nave of the house was twenty cubits ^(F1)in length, ^(F2)corresponding to the width of the house, and its ^(F3)depth along the front of the house was ten cubits. ³ A fifteen-foot porch went all the way across the front of the temple. ³ The hall fronting the temple of the house was thirty-five feet long, the same as the width of the house itself, so that its seventeen-and-a-half-foot width extended frontward from the house.

³ And the porch, in front of the temple of the house, was twenty cubits in length, in front of the house broadways, [and] ten cubits was its breadth, in front of the house. ³ The porch of the Temple was 20 cubits long and 10 cubits^[e] wide. The porch ran along the front of the main part of the Temple itself. Its length was equal to the width of the Temple.³ And the porch in front of the door of the temple was twenty cubits long, the same as the breadth of the house; and ten cubits was the depth before the length of the house. ³ The entrance room was 15 feet deep and 30 feet wide, as wide as the sanctuary itself. ³ The vestibule on the face of the main hall of the temple^[c] was twenty cubits in its length, and the width of the temple^[d] was ten cubits wide on the face of the temple.^{[e] 3} As to the porch on the front of the temple of the house, its length was twenty cubits according to the breadth of the house; its breadth on the front of the house was ten cubits.³ And he buylded a Porche before the temple of twentye cubytes longe after the bredth of the house, & ten cubites brode before the house. ³ And the porch before ^[b]the temple of the house, twenty cubits was the length thereof, according to the breadth of the house; and ten cubits was the breadth thereof before the house. ³ The covered way before the Temple of the house was twenty cubits long, as wide as the house, and ten cubits wide in front of the house.³ And he made a porche before the temple of the house, which was twentie cubites long, after ye breadth of the house, and ten cubites brode, [euen] in the fore front of the house.³ And the porch before the temple of the house, twenty cubits was the length thereof, according to the breadth of the house; and ten cubits was the breadth thereof before the house.³ And the porch before the Temple of the house: twentie cubites was the length thereof, according to the breadth of the house, and tenne cubites was the breadth thereof before the house. ³ And the porch in front of the temple—twenty cubits was its length according to the breadth of the house in front of the house: and he built the house, and finished it. ³ And the porch before the temple of the house, twenty cubits was the length thereof, according to the breadth of the house; [and] ten cubits was the breadth thereof before the house. ³ The portico at the front of the main hall of the temple was twenty cubits^(a)(a) long, extending across the width of the temple and projecting out ten cubits in front of the temple.³ And a porche was bifor the temple of twenti cubitis of lengthe, by the mesure of the breed of the temple; and the porche hadde ten cubitis of breede, bifor the face of the temple.³ As to the porch on the front of the temple of the house, twenty cubits [is] its length on the front of the breadth of the house; ten by the cubit [is] its breadth on the front of the house;³ And the porch before the temple of the house, twenty cubits was the length thereof, according to the width of the house; [and] ten cubits was the width thereof before the house.³ And the porch before the temple of the house, twenty cubits [was] the length of it, according to the breadth of the house; [and] ten cubits [was] the breadth of it, before the house.³ The porch before the temple of the house, twenty cubits was the length of it, according to the breadth of the house; [and] ten cubits was the breadth of it before the house. ³ The vestibule in front of the sanctuary [fn] of the house was twenty cubits long across the width of the house, and the width of [fn] the vestibule extended ten cubits from the front of the house. ³ The entry room at the front of the Temple was 30 feet^[c] wide, running across the entire width of the Temple. It projected outward 15 feet^[d] from the front of the Temple. ³ All along the front of the House of God was a porch ten long steps long and five long steps wide. It was as long as the house was wide. ³ The vestibule in front of the nave of the house was twenty cubits wide, across the width of the house. Its depth was ten cubits in front of the house. ³ And, the porch in front of the temple of the house, was twenty cubits in length, according to the breadth of the house, - ten cubits in breadth, in front of the house.³ And there was a porch before the temple, of twenty cubits in length, according to the measure of the breadth of the temple: and it was ten cubits in breadth, before the face of the temple.³ The vestibule in front of the nave of the house was twenty cubits long, equal to the width of the house, and ten cubits deep in front of the house.³ As for the porch on the front of the temple of the house, its length [is] twenty cubits on the front of the breadth of the house; its breadth [is] ten by the cubit on the front of the house;³ The porch in front of the nave of the house was twenty cubits ^(F1)in length, ^(F2)corresponding to the width of the house, and its ^(F3)depth along the front of the house was ten cubits.⁴ He also made windows with beveled frames^(F1) for the temple.^(C1)

⁴ And for the house he made windows of narrow lights. ⁴ And ^(d)he made for the house windows with recessed frames.^{[b] 4} The Temple also had windows that opened and closed. ⁴ He made framed windows for the temple. ^4 (C1)He also made framed (artistic) window openings for the house.⁴ Also for the house ^(C1)he made windows with artistic frames.⁴ And in the house he made windowes, broad without, and narrowe within.⁴ Also for the house ^(C1)he made windows with artistic frames. ⁴ The windows were narrow on the outside but wide on the inside. ⁴ The windows he made for the house were wide on the inside and narrow on the outside.

⁴ And for the house he made closed windows with fixed lattices. ⁴ There were narrow windows in the Temple. These windows were smaller on the inside of the wall than on the outside.^[f]4 And for the house he made windows of narrow lights. ⁴ The walls of the Temple had openings in them, narrower on the outside than on the inside. ⁴ And he made for the temple^[f] specially designed framed windows, ⁴ And he made windows of narrowing frames for the house.⁴ And in ye house he made wyndowes, which might be opened and shut with lyddes. ⁴ And for the house he made ^[c]windows of fixed lattice-work. ⁴ And for the house he made windows, with network across.⁴ And in the house he made windowes, broade without, and narow within.⁴ And for the house he made windows broad within, and narrow without.⁴ And for the house he made windowes of narrow lights. ⁴ And he made to the house secret windows inclining inward. ⁴ And for the house he made windows of fixed lattice–work. ⁴ He also had narrow windows framed high in the temple.⁴ And Salomon made in the temple `wyndows streyte withoutforth, and large with ynne.⁴ and he maketh for the house windows of narrow lights.⁴ And for the house he made windows of fixed lattice-work.⁴ And for the house he made windows of narrow lights.⁴ For the house he made windows of fixed lattice-work. ⁴ And he made for the house windows with beveled frames. ⁴ Solomon also made narrow recessed windows throughout the Temple. ⁴ He made windows for the house with beautiful cross-pieces. ⁴ For the house he made windows with recessed frames.^{[a] 4} And he made to the house windows, with closed bars.⁴ And he made in the temple oblique windows.⁴ And he made for the house windows with recessed frames.⁴ and he makes frames of narrowing windows for the house.⁴ Also for the house ^(C1)he made windows with artistic frames.

⁵ He then built a chambered structure^(F1) along the temple wall, encircling the walls of the temple, that is, the sanctuary and the inner sanctuary.^(C1) And he made side chambers^(F2) all around.^{(C2) 5} Against the wall of the house he built stories round about, against the walls of the house round about, both of the temple and of the oracle; and he made side-chambers round about.

⁵ And against the wall of the house he built chambers round about, against the walls of the house round about, both of the temple and of the oracle: and he made chambers round about: ^5 (e)He also built a structure^[c] against the wall of the house, running around the walls of the house, both the nave and ^(f)the inner sanctuary. And he made ^(g)side chambers all around. ⁵ Solomon also built some side rooms against the walls of the main room and the inner room of the Temple. He built rooms all around. ⁵ He built an extension all around the walls of the temple's main hall and holy place and constructed side rooms in it. ^5 (C1)Against the wall of the house he built ^(F1)extensions around the walls of the house, around both the main room (Holy Place) and the ^(F2)(C2)Holy of Holies; and he made ^(C3)side chambers all around.^5 (C1)Against the wall of the house he built stories encompassing the walls of the house around both the main room and the ^(F1)(C2)inner sanctuary; so he made ^(C3)side chambers all around.⁵ And by the wall of the house hee made galleries round about, euen by the walles of the house round about the Temple and the oracle, and made chambers round about.^5 (C1)And he built, against the wall of the house, stories encompassing the walls of the house around both the nave and the ^(C2)inner sanctuary; thus he made ^(C3)side chambers all around.^5-6 Along the sides and back of the temple, there were three levels of storage rooms. The rooms on the bottom level were seven and a half feet wide, the rooms on the middle level were nine feet wide, and those on the top level were ten and a half feet wide. There were ledges on the outside of the temple that supported the beams of the storage rooms, so that nothing was built into the temple walls. ⁵ Against the wall of the house he built an annex all the way around; it went all the way around the walls of the house, including both the temple and the sanctuary.

⁵ And against the wall of the house he built floors round about, [against] the walls of the house, round about the temple and the oracle; and he made side-chambers round about. ⁵ Then Solomon built a row of rooms around the main part of the Temple. This row of rooms was three stories tall with the rooms built one above the other.⁵ And against the wall of the house he built rooms encircling the wall of the house, both of the temple and of the Holy of Holies; and he made side rooms round about. ⁵ Against the outside walls, on the sides and the back of the Temple, a three-storied annex was built, each story 7½ feet high. ⁵ and he built a structure against the wall of the temple^[g] running all along the walls of the house, for the outer sanctuary and for the inner sanctuary, and made side rooms all around. ⁵ And he built a side-structure on the wall of the house all around, against the walls of the house all around; to the temple and to the sanctuary. And he made side sections all around.⁵ And rounde aboute by the wall of ye house he buylded a compase, so yt it wente both aboute the temple and the quere, and made his outwarde wall roude aboute. ⁵ And against the wall of the house he built stories round about, against the walls of the house round about, both of the temple and of ^[d]the oracle; and he made side-chambers round about. ⁵ And against the walls all round, and against the walls of the Temple and of the inmost room, he put up wings, with side rooms all round:⁵ And by the wall of the house he made chambers round about [euen] in the walles of the house round about the temple & the quier: and he made chambers round about.⁵ And against the wall of the house he built a side-structure round about, against the walls of the house round about, both of the temple and of the sanctuary; and he made side-chambers round about;⁵ And against the wall of the house he built chambers round about, against the walles of the house round about, both of the Temple and of the Oracle: and hee made chambers round about. ⁵ And against the wall of the house he set chambers round about the temple and the ark. ⁵ And against the wall of the house he built stories round about, against the walls of the house round about, both of the temple and of the oracle: and he made side–chambers round about:

The Chambers

⁵ He built a complex of rooms against the outer walls of the Temple, all the way around the sides and rear of the building. ⁵ He made a building of rooms against the outer walls of three sides of the house. These rooms were three floors high. ⁵ He also built a structure against the wall of the house, running around the walls of the house, both the nave and the inner sanctuary; and he made side chambers all around. ⁵ And he built - by the wall of the house - a gallery, round about, against the walls of the house, round about, both to the temple, and to the shrine, - and he made side chambers round about.⁵ And upon the wall of the temple, he built floors round about, in the walls of the house, round about the temple and the oracle, and he made chambers in the sides round about.⁵ He also built a structure against the wall of the house, running round the walls of the house, both the nave and the inner sanctuary; and he made side chambers all around.⁵ And he builds a couch against the wall of the house all around, [even] the walls of the house all around, of the temple and of the oracle, and makes sides all around.^5 (C1)Against the wall of the house he built stories encompassing the walls of the house around both the nave and the ^(C2)inner sanctuary; thus he made ^(C3)side chambers all around.⁶ The lowest chamber was 7½ feet^(F1) wide, the middle was 9 feet^(F2) wide, and the third was 10½ feet^(F3) wide. He also provided offset ledges for the temple all around the outside so that nothing would be inserted into the temple walls. ⁶ The nethermost story was five cubits broad, and the middle was six cubits broad, and the third was seven cubits broad; for on the outside he made offsets [in the wall] of the house round about, that [the beams] should not have hold in the walls of the house.

⁶ The nethermost chamber was five cubits broad, and the middle was six cubits broad, and the third was seven cubits broad: for without in the wall of the house he made narrowed rests round about, that the beams should not be fastened in the walls of the house. ⁶ The lowest story^[d] was five cubits broad, the middle one was six cubits broad, and the third was seven cubits broad. For around the outside of the house he made offsets on the wall in order that the supporting beams should not be inserted into the walls of the house. ⁶ The rooms on the bottom floor were seven and one-half feet wide. Those on the middle floor were nine feet wide, and the rooms above them were ten and one-half feet wide. The Temple wall that formed the side of each room was thinner than the wall in the room below. These rooms were pushed against the Temple wall, but they did not have their main beams built into this wall. ⁶ The bottom floor of the extension was seven and a half feet wide, the middle floor nine feet wide, and the third floor ten and a half feet wide. He made ledges on the temple's outer walls so the beams would not have to be inserted into the walls. ⁶ The lowest story was five cubits wide, the middle was six cubits wide, and the third was seven cubits wide; for he made offsets (niches) in the walls all around on the outside of the house so that the supporting beams would not be inserted into the walls of the house.

⁶ The lowest floor was five cubits broad, and the middle one was six cubits broad, and the third was seven cubits broad; for in the [thickness of the wall of] the house he made resets round about outside, that nothing should be fastened in the walls of the house. ⁶ The rooms touched the Temple wall, but their beams were not built into that wall. The Temple wall became thinner at the top, so the rooms on the upper floors were larger than the ones below them. The rooms on the bottom floor were 5 cubits^[g] wide. The rooms on the middle floor were 6 cubits^[h] wide. The rooms above that were 7 cubits^[i] wide.⁶ The lowest chamber was five cubits broad, and the middle was six cubits broad, and the third was seven cubits broad; for outside in the wall of the house he made narrowed copings round about in order that the walls should be fastened together. ⁶ Each room in the lowest story was 7½ feet wide, in the middle story 9 feet wide, and in the top story 10½ feet wide. The Temple wall on each floor was thinner than on the floor below, so that the rooms could rest on the wall without having their beams built into it. ⁶ The lower structure was five cubits in its width and the middle was six cubits in its width and the third was seven cubits in its width, for he made niches for the temple^[h] all around to the outside, so that beams would not attach to the walls of the temple.^{[i] 6} The lowest side-structure was five cubits wide; and the middle was six cubits wide; and the third story side-structure was seven cubits wide. For outside of the house he made narrowed ledges for the house all around, so as not to lay hold of the walls of the house.⁶ The nethermost stacion was fyue cubytes wyde, and ye myddest sixe cubites wyde, and the thirde seuen cubites wyde. For he layed balkes rounde aboute the house, that they touched not ye wall of the house. ⁶ The nethermost story was five cubits broad, and the middle was six cubits broad, and the third was seven cubits broad; for on the outside he made offsets in the wall of the house round about, that the beams should not have hold in the walls of the house. ⁶ The lowest line of them being five cubits wide, the middle six cubits wide and the third seven cubits; for there was a space all round the outside walls of the house so that the boards supporting the rooms did not have to be fixed in the walls of the house.⁶ The neathermost chamber was fiue cubites broade, & the middle was sixe cubites broade, & the third was seuen cubites broade: For without in the wall of the house he made restes round about that [the beames of the chambers] shoulde not be fastened in ye walles of the house.⁶ the nethermost story of the side-structure was five cubits broad, and the middle was six cubits broad, and the third was seven cubits broad; for on the outside he made rebatements in the wall of the house round about, that the beams should not have hold in the walls of the house.--⁶ The nethermost chamber was fiue cubites broad, and the middle was sixe cubites broad, and the third was seuen cubites broad: for without in the wall of the house hee made narrowed rests round about, that the beames should not bee fastened in the walles of the house. ⁶ The under side was five cubits broad, and the middle part six, and the third was seven cubits broad; for he formed an interval to the house round about without the house, that they might not touch the walls of the house. ⁶ The nethermost story was five cubits broad, and the middle was six cubits broad, and the third was seven cubits broad: for on the outside he made rebatements [in the wall] of the house round about, that [the beams] should not have hold in the walls of the house. ^{6 (a)}The bottom floor was five cubits^(a)(a) wide, the middle floor six cubits, and the third floor seven cubits. So the beams were not inserted into the walls themselves. ⁶ The bottom floor was as wide as three steps. The second floor was as wide as three long steps. And the third floor was as wide as four steps. For around the outside of the house he made places for the large wood cross-pieces to rest on. That way they would not need to be put into holes in the walls of the house. ⁶ The lowest story^[b] was five cubits wide, the middle one was six cubits wide, and the third was seven cubits wide; for around the outside of the house he made offsets on the wall in order that the supporting beams should not be inserted into the walls of the house.⁶ The, lowest gallery, was five cubits broad, and, the middle, six cubits broad, and, the third, seven cubits broad, - for he put, ledges, against the house round about, on the outer side, so as not to make fastenings in the walls of the house.⁶ The floor that was underneath was five cubits in breadth, and the middle floor was six cubits in breadth, and the third floor was seven cubits in breadth. ⁷ And the house, when it was in building, was built of stone made ready before it was brought thither: so that there was neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron heard in the house, while it was in building.
