Jezebel immediately sent a messenger to Elijah with her threat: "The gods will get you for this and I'll get even with you! By this time tomorrow you'll be as dead as any one of those prophets."

¹ Now Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and ^(F1)(C1)how he had killed all the prophets with the sword.² So Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, “May the gods punish me and do so severely^(C1) if I don’t make your life like the life of one of them by this time tomorrow!”

² Then Jezebel sent a messenger unto Elijah, saying, So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I make not thy life as the life of one of them by to morrow about this time. ² Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, ^(b)"So may the gods do to me and more also, if I do not make your life as the life of one of them by this time tomorrow." ² So Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, "May the gods punish me terribly if by this time tomorrow I don't kill you just as you killed those prophets." ² Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah with this warning, "May the gods judge me severely if by this time tomorrow I do not take your life as you did theirs!"² Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, "^(C1)So may the gods do to me, and even more, if by this time tomorrow I do not make your ^(F1)life like the life of one of them."² Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, "^(C1)So may the gods do to me and more so, if by about this time tomorrow I do not make your ^(F1)life like the ^(F1)life of one of them."² Then Iezebel sent a messenger vnto Eliiah, saying, The gods doe so to me and more also, if I make not thy life like one of their liues by to morowe this time.² Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, "^(C1)So may the gods do to me and even more, if I do not make your ^(F1)life as the ^(F1)life of one of them by about this time tomorrow." ² She sent a message to Elijah: "You killed my prophets. Now I'm going to kill you! I pray that the gods will punish me even more severely if I don't do it by this time tomorrow." ² Then Izevel sent a messenger to say to Eliyahu, "May the gods do terrible things to me and worse ones besides if by this time tomorrow I haven't taken your life, just as you took theirs!"

² And Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah saying, So do the gods [to me], and more also, if I make not thy life as the life of one of them by to-morrow about this time! ² So Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah and said, "I swear that by this time tomorrow, you will be just as dead as those prophets. If I don't succeed, may the gods do the same or worse to me."² Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I do not make your life as the life of one of them by tomorrow about this time. ² She sent a message to Elijah: "May the gods strike me dead if by this time tomorrow I don't do the same thing to you that you did to the prophets." ² Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, "Thus may the gods do to me, and may they add to it, surely at this time tomorrow I will make your life as the life of one of them!" ² And Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, So let the gods do, and more so, if at this time tomorrow I will not cause your life to be as the life of one of them.² The sent Iesabel a messaunger vnto Elias, sayenge: The goddes do this & that vnto me, yf I tomorow aboute this tyme, make not thy soule as one of these. ² Then Jezebel sent a messenger unto Elijah, saying, So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I make not thy life as the life of one of them by to-morrow about this time. ² Then Jezebel sent a servant to Elijah, saying, May the gods' punishment be on me if I do not make your life like the life of one of them by tomorrow about this time.² Then Iezabel sent a messenger vnto Elias, saying: So and so let the gods do to me, if I make not thy soule lyke one of theirs by to morowe this time.² Then Jezebel sent a messenger unto Elijah, saying: 'So let the gods do [to me], and more also, if I make not thy life as the life of one of them by to-morrow about this time.'² Then Iezebel sent a messenger vnto Eliiah, saying; So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I make not thy life as the life of one of them, by to morrow about this time. ² And Jezabel sent to Eliu, and said, If thou art Eliu and I am Jezabel, God do so to me, and more also, if I do not make thy life by this time to-morrow as the life of one of them. ² Then Jezebel sent a messenger unto Elijah, saying, So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I make not thy life as the life of one of them by tomorrow about this time. ² So Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, “May the gods deal with me, and ever so severely, if by this time tomorrow I do not make your life like the lives of those you killed!”² And Jezabel sente a messanger to Elie, and seide, Goddis do these thingis to me, and adde these thingis, no but to morewe in this our Y schal putte thi lijf as the lijf of oon of hem.² and Jezebel sendeth a messenger unto Elijah, saying, `Thus doth the gods, and thus do they add, surely about this time to-morrow, I make thy life as the life of one of them.'² Then Jezebel send a messenger to Elijah, saying, So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I don't make your life as the life of one of them by tomorrow about this time.² Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, So let the gods do [to me], and more also, if I make not thy life as the life of one of them by to-morrow about this time.² Then Jezebel send a messenger to Elijah, saying, So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I don't make your life as the life of one of them by tomorrow about this time. ² Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, "So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I do not make your life as the life of one of them by tomorrow about this time." ² So Jezebel sent this message to Elijah: "May the gods strike me and even kill me if by this time tomorrow I have not killed you just as you killed them." ² Then Jezebel sent news to Elijah, saying, "So may the gods do to me and even more, if I do not make your life as the life of one of them by this time tomorrow." ² Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, "So may the gods do to me, and more also, if I do not make your life like the life of one of them by this time tomorrow." ² Then sent Jezebel a messenger unto Elijah, saying, - So, let the gods do, and, so, let them add, if, by this time to-morrow, I make not thy life as the life of one of them.² And Jezabel sent a messenger to Elias, saying: Such and such things may the gods do to me, and add still more, if by this hour to morrow I make not thy life as the life of one of them.² Then Jez'ebel sent a messenger to Eli'jah, saying, "So may the gods do to me, and more also, if I do not make your life as the life of one of them by this time tomorrow."² and Jezebel sends a messenger to Elijah, saying, "Thus the gods do, and thus do they add—surely about this time tomorrow, I make your life as the life of one of them."² Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, "^(C1)So may the gods do to me and even more, if I do not make your ^(F1)life as the ^(F1)life of one of them by tomorrow about this time."

³ Then Elijah became afraid^(F1)(C1) and immediately ran for his life.^(C2) When he came to Beer-sheba^(C3) that belonged to Judah, he left his servant there,^{(C4) 3} When he saw that, he arose, and went for his life, and came to Be'er-Sheva, which belongs to Yehudah, and left his servant there.

³ And when he saw that, he arose, and went for his life, and came to Beersheba, which belongeth to Judah, and left his servant there. ³ Then he was afraid, and he arose and ran for his life and came to ^(c)Beersheba, which belongs to Judah, and left his servant there.

³ When Elijah heard this, he was afraid and ran for his life, taking his servant with him. When they came to Beersheba in Judah, Elijah left his servant there.

³ Elijah was afraid, so he got up and fled for his life to Beer Sheba in Judah. He left his servant there, ³ And Elijah was afraid and arose and ran for his life, and he came to ^(F1)(C1)Beersheba which belongs to Judah, and he left his servant there.³ And he ^(F1)was afraid, and got up and ran for his ^(F2)life and came to ^(C1)Beersheba, which belongs to Judah; and he left his servant there.³ When he sawe that, he arose, and went for his life, and came to Beer-sheba, which is in Iudah, and left his seruant there.³ And he ^(F1)was afraid and arose and ^(F2)ran for his ^(F3)life and came to ^(C1)Beersheba, which belongs to Judah, and left his young man there.

³ Elijah was afraid when he got her message, and he ran to the town of Beersheba in Judah. He left his servant there, ³ On seeing that, he got up and fled for his life.

When he arrived in Be'er-Sheva, in Y'hudah, he left his servant there;

³ And when he saw [that], he arose, and went for his life, and came to Beer-sheba, which belongs to Judah, and left his servant there.

³ When Elijah heard this, he was afraid. So he ran away to save his life. He took his servant with him, and they went to Beersheba in Judah. Then Elijah left his servant in Beersheba³ And Elijah was afraid, and he arose and fled for his life, and came to Beer-sheba, which belongs to Judah, and left his disciple there. ³ Elijah was afraid and fled for his life; he took his servant and went to Beersheba in Judah.

Leaving the servant there, ³ Then he became afraid,^[a] got up, and fled for his life.^[b] He came to Beersheba which belongs to Judah, and he left his servant there. ³ And he saw, and rose up and went for his life, and came to Beer-sheba of Judah, and left his young man there;³ Then was he afrayed, & gat him vp, & wente where he wolde, & came vnto Berseba in Iuda, and lefte his lad there. ³ And when he saw that, he arose, and went for his life, and came to Beer-sheba, which belongeth to Judah, and left his servant there. ³ And he got up, fearing for his life, and went in flight, and came to Beer-sheba in Judah, parting there from his servant;³ When he sawe that, he arose, and went for his life, and came to Beerseba in Iuda, and left his seruaunt there.³ And when he saw that, he arose, and went for his life, and came to Beer-sheba, which belongeth to Judah, and left his servant there.³ And when he saw that, hee arose, and went for his life, and came to Beersheba, which belongeth to Iudah, and left his seruant there. ³ And Eliu feared, and rose, and departed for his life: and he comes to Bersabee to the land of Juda, and he left his servant there. ³ And when he saw that, he arose, and went for his life, and came to Beer–sheba, which belongeth to Judah, and left his servant there. ³ And Elijah was afraid and ran for his life. When he came to Beersheba in Judah, he left his servant there,³ Therfor Elie dredde, and roos, and yede whidur euer wille bar hym; and he cam in to Bersabe of Juda, and he lefte there his child;³ And he feareth, and riseth, and goeth for his life, and cometh in to Beer-Sheba, that [is] Judah's, and leaveth his young man there,³ And he was afraid, he arose, and went for his life, and came to Beer-sheba, which belongs to Judah, and left his attendant there.³ And when he saw [that], he arose, and went for his life, and came to Beer-sheba, which [belongeth] to Judah, and left his servant there.³ When he saw that, he arose, and went for his life, and came to Beersheba, which belongs to Judah, and left his servant there. ³ And when he saw that, he arose and ran for his life, and went to Beersheba, which belongs to Judah, and left his servant there.

³ Elijah was afraid and fled for his life. He went to Beersheba, a town in Judah, and he left his servant there. ³ Elijah was afraid. He got up and ran for his life. When he came to Beersheba of Judah, he left his servant there. ³ Then he was afraid; he got up and fled for his life, and came to Beer-sheba, which belongs to Judah; he left his servant there.³ And, when he saw that , he arose, and went for his life, and came to Beer-sheba, which belongeth to Judah, - and left his servant there.³ Then Elias was afraid, and rising up, he went whithersoever he had a mind: and he came to Bersabee of Juda, and left his servant there,³ Then he was afraid, and he arose and went for his life, and came to Beer-sheba, which belongs to Judah, and left his servant there.³ And he fears, and rises, and goes for his life, and comes to Beer-Sheba, that [is] Judah's, and leaves his young man there,^3-5 When Elijah saw how things were, he ran for dear life to Beersheba, far in the south of Judah. He left his young servant there and then went on into the desert another day's journey. He came to a lone broom bush and collapsed in its shade, wanting in the worst way to be done with it all—to just die: "Enough of this, God! Take my life—I'm ready to join my ancestors in the grave!" Exhausted, he fell asleep under the lone broom bush.

Suddenly an angel shook him awake and said, "Get up and eat!"³ And he ^(F1)was afraid and arose and ran for his ^(F2)life and came to ^(C1)Beersheba, which belongs to Judah, and left his servant there.⁴ but he went on a day’s journey into the wilderness. He sat down under a broom tree^(C1) and prayed that he might die. He said, “I have had enough! Lord, take my life,^(C2) for I’m no better than my fathers.” ⁴ But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die, and said, It is enough; now, O LORD, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers.

⁴ But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O Lord, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers.

⁴ But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness and came and sat down under a broom tree. ^(d)And he asked that he might die, saying, "It is enough; now, O Lord, take away my life, for I am no better than my fathers." ⁴ Then Elijah walked for a whole day into the desert. He sat down under a bush and asked to die. "I have had enough, Lord," he prayed. "Let me die. I am no better than my ancestors." ⁴ while he went a day's journey into the desert. He went and sat down under a shrub and asked the Lord to take his life: "I've had enough! Now, O Lord, take my life. After all, I'm no better than my ancestors." ⁴ But he himself traveled a day's journey into the wilderness, and he came and sat down under a juniper tree and ^(C1)asked God that he might die. He said, "It is enough; now, O LORD, take my life, for I am no better than my fathers."⁴ But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a broom tree; and ^(C1)he asked for himself to die, and said, "Enough! Now, LORD, take my ^(F1)life, for I am no better than my fathers."⁴ But he went a dayes iourney into the wildernesse, and came and sate downe vnder a iuniper tree, and desired that he might die, and sayde, It is now ynough: O Lord, take my soule, for I am no better then my fathers.⁴ But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a broom tree; and ^(C1)he asked for himself that he might die, and said, "It is enough; now, O Yahweh, take my ^(F1)life, for I am not better than my fathers." ⁴ then walked another whole day into the desert. Finally, he came to a large bush and sat down in its shade. He begged the Lord, "I've had enough. Just let me die! I'm no better off than my ancestors." ⁴ but he himself went a day farther into the desert, until he came to a broom tree. He sat down under it and prayed for his own death. "Enough!" he said. "Now, Adonai, take my life. I'm no better than my ancestors."

⁴ And he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a certain broom-bush, and requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough: now, Jehovah, take my life; for I am not better than my fathers. ⁴ and walked for a whole day into the desert. Then he sat down under a bush and asked to die. He said, "I have had enough, Lord! Take my life. I am no better than my ancestors."⁴ But he himself went a days journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under an oak tree; and he requested for himself that he might die, and said, It is enough for me; now, O LORD, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers. ^4 (a)Elijah walked a whole day into the wilderness. He stopped and sat down in the shade of a tree and wished he would die. "It's too much, Lord," he prayed. "Take away my life; I might as well be dead!" ⁴ Then he went into the wilderness one day's journey, and he went and sat under a certain broom tree. Then he asked Yahweh that he might die,^[c] and he said, "It is enough now, Yahweh; take my life, for I am no better than my ancestors."^{[d] 4} and he himself went into the wilderness a day's journey, and came and sat under a certain broom tree. And he begged for his life, that he might die, and said, Enough, now, O Jehovah; take my life, for I am no better than my fathers.⁴ But he him selfe wente a daies iourney in to ye wyldernes, & came in, & sat him downe vnder a Iuniper tre, & wy?shed vnto his soule yt he mighte dye, & sayde: It is now ynough LORDE, take my soule, for I am no better then my fathers. ⁴ But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a ^[a]juniper-tree: and he requested for himself that he might die, and said, It is enough; now, O Jehovah, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers. ⁴ While he himself went a day's journey into the waste land, and took a seat under a broom-plant, desiring for himself only death; for he said, It is enough: now, O Lord, take away my life, for I am no better than my fathers.⁴ But he him selfe went a dayes iourney into the wildernesse, and came and sat downe vnder a Iuniper tree, and desired for his soule that he might dye, and sayde: It is nowe enough O Lorde, take my soule, for I am not better then my fathers.⁴ But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a broom-tree; and he requested for himself that he might die; and said: 'It is enough; now, O LORD, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers.'⁴ But he himselfe went a dayes iourney into the wildernesse, and came and sate downe vnder a Iuniper tree: and hee requested for himselfe that hee might die, and sayd, It is enough, now O Lord, take away my life: for I am not better then my fathers. ⁴ And he himself went a day’s journey in the wilderness, and came and sat under a juniper tree; and asked concerning his life that he might die, and said, Let it be enough now, O Lord, take, I pray thee, my life from me; for I am no better than my fathers. ⁴ But he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O LORD, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers. ⁴ while he himself traveled on a day’s journey into the wilderness. He sat down under a broom tree and prayed that he might die. “I have had enough, LORD,” he said. “Take my life, for I am no better than my fathers.”⁴ and yede in to deseert, the weie of o dai. And whanne he cam, and sat vndir o iunypere tre, he axide to his soule, that he schulde die; and he seide, Lord, it suffisith to me, take my soule; for Y am not betere than my fadris.⁴ and he himself hath gone into the wilderness a day's Journey, and cometh and sitteth under a certain retem-tree, and desireth his soul to die, and saith, `Enough, now, O Jehovah, take my soul, for I [am] not better than my fathers.'⁴ But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper-tree: and he requested for himself that he might die, and said, It is enough; now, O Yahweh, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers.⁴ But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper-tree: and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O LORD, take away my life; for I [am] not better than my fathers.⁴ But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die, and said, It is enough; now, O Yahweh, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers. ⁴ But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a broom tree. And he prayed that he might die, and said, "It is enough! Now, LORD, take my life, for I am no better than my fathers!" ⁴ Then he went on alone into the wilderness, traveling all day. He sat down under a solitary broom tree and prayed that he might die. "I have had enough, Lord," he said. "Take my life, for I am no better than my ancestors who have already died." ⁴ But he himself traveled for a day into the desert. He came and sat down under a juniper tree. There he asked that he might die, saying, "It is enough now, O Lord. Take my life. For I am not better than my fathers."

⁴ But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a solitary broom tree. He asked that he might die: "It is enough; now, O Lord, take away my life, for I am no better than my ancestors." ⁴ But, he himself, went into the wilderness a day's journey, and came and sat down under a certain shrub, - and asked for his life, that he might die, and said - Enough, now, O Yahweh! take away my life, for, no better, am, I, than, my fathers.⁴ And he went forward, one day’s journey into the desert. And when he was there, and sat under a juniper tree, he requested for his soul that he might die, and said: It is enough for me, Lord; take away my soul: for I am no better than my fathers.⁴ But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a broom tree; and he asked that he might die, saying, "It is enough; now, O LORD, take away my life; for I am no better than my fathers."⁴ and he himself has gone a day's journey into the wilderness, and comes and sits under a certain broom tree, and desires his soul to die, and says, "Enough, now, O YHWH, take my soul, for I [am] not better than my fathers."⁴ But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a ^(F1)juniper tree; and ^(C1)he requested for himself that he might die, and said, "It is enough; now, O LORD, take my ^(F2)life, for I am not better than my fathers."⁵ Then he lay down and slept under the broom tree.

⁵ And as he lay and slept under a juniper tree, behold, then an angel touched him, and said unto him, Arise and eat. ⁵ And he lay down and slept under a broom tree. And behold, an angel touched him and said to him, "Arise and eat." ⁵ Then he lay down under the tree and slept.

Suddenly an angel came to him and touched him. "Get up and eat," the angel said. ⁵ He stretched out and fell asleep under the shrub. All of a sudden an angelic messenger touched him and said, "Get up and eat." ⁵ He lay down and slept under the juniper tree, and behold, ^(C1)an angel touched him and said to him, "Get up and eat."⁵ Then he lay down and fell asleep under a broom tree; but behold, there was ^(C1)an angel touching him, and he said to him, "Arise, eat!"⁵ And as he lay and slept vnder the iuniper tree, behold now, an Angel touched him, and said vnto him, Vp, and eate.⁵ Then he lay down and slept under a broom tree; and behold, there was ^(C1)an angel touching him, and he said to him, "Arise, eat." ⁵ Then he lay down in the shade and fell asleep.

Suddenly an angel woke him up and said, "Get up and eat." ⁵ Then he lay down under the broom tree and went to sleep. Suddenly, an angel touched him and said to him, "Get up and eat!"

⁵ And he lay down and slept under the broom-bush. And behold, an angel touched him, and said to him, Arise, eat!

⁵ Then Elijah lay down under the bush and went to sleep. An angel came to him and touched him. The angel said, "Get up and eat!"⁵ Then he lay down and slept soundly under the oak tree; and, behold, an angel touched him and said to him, Arise and eat.

⁵ He lay down under the tree and fell asleep. Suddenly an angel touched him and said, "Wake up and eat." ⁵ He lay down and fell asleep under a certain broom tree, and suddenly this angel was touching him and said to him, "Get up, eat!" ⁵ And he lay down and slept under a certain broom tree; and behold, an angel touched him and said to him, Get up, eat!⁵ And he layed him downe & slepte vnder the Iuniper tre. And beholde, ye angell touched him, & sayde vnto him: Stonde vp, and eate. ⁵ And he lay down and slept under a juniper-tree; and, behold, an angel touched him, and said unto him, Arise and eat. ⁵ And stretching himself on the earth, he went to sleep under the broom-plant; but an angel, touching him, said to him, Get up and have some food.⁵ And as he lay and slept vnder the Iuniper tree: behold an angel touched him, and sayde vnto him: Up, and eate.⁵ And he lay down and slept under a broom-tree; and, behold, an angel touched him, and said unto him: 'Arise and eat.'⁵ And as hee lay and slept vnder a Iuniper tree, behold then, an Angel touched him, and sayd vnto him, Arise, and eate. ⁵ And he lay down and slept there under a tree; and behold, some one touched him, and said to him, Arise and eat. ⁵ And he lay down and slept under a juniper tree; and, behold, an angel touched him, and said unto him, Arise and eat. ⁵ Then he lay down under the broom tree and fell asleep. Suddenly an angel touched him and said, “Get up and eat.”⁵ And he castide forth hym silf, and slepte in the schadewe of the iunypere tree. And lo! the aungel of the Lord touchide hym, and seide to hym, Rise thou, and ete.⁵ And he lieth down and sleepeth under a certain retem-tree, and lo, a messenger cometh against him, and saith to him, `Rise, eat;'⁵ And he lay down and slept under a juniper-tree; and, look, an angel touched him, and said to him, Arise and eat.⁵ And as he lay and slept under a juniper-tree, behold, then an angel touched him, and said to him, Arise [and] eat.⁵ He lay down and slept under a juniper tree; and, behold, an angel touched him, and said to him, Arise and eat. ⁵ Then as he lay and slept under a broom tree, suddenly an angel [fn] touched him, and said to him, "Arise and eat."

⁵ Then he lay down and slept under the broom tree. But as he was sleeping, an angel touched him and told him, "Get up and eat!" ⁵ When he lay down and slept under the juniper tree, an angel touched him. The angel said to him, "Get up and eat." ⁵ Then he lay down under the broom tree and fell asleep. Suddenly an angel touched him and said to him, "Get up and eat." ⁵ And, as he lay, and slept, under a certain shrub, lo! a messenger, touching him, who said to him - Rise, eat.⁵ And he cast himself down, and slept in the shadow of the juniper tree: and behold an angel of the Lord touched him, and said to him: Arise and eat.⁵ And he lay down and slept under a broom tree; and behold, an angel touched him, and said to him, "Arise and eat."⁵ And he lies down and sleeps under a certain broom tree, and behold, a messenger is reaching toward him and says to him, "Rise, eat";⁵ He lay down and slept under a ^(F1)juniper tree; and behold, there was ^(C1)an angel touching him, and he said to him, "Arise, eat."

Suddenly, an angel touched him.^(C1) The angel told him, “Get up and eat.” ⁶ Then he looked, and there at his head was a loaf of bread baked over hot stones, and a jug of water.^(C1) So he ate and drank and lay down again. ⁶ He looked, and, behold, there was at his head a cake baked on the coals, and a jar of water. He ate and drink, and laid him down again.

⁶ And he looked, and, behold, there was a cake baken on the coals, and a cruse of water at his head. And he did eat and drink, and laid him down again. ⁶ And he looked, and behold, there was at his head a cake baked on hot stones and a jar of water. And he ate and drank and lay down again. ⁶ Elijah saw near his head a loaf baked over coals and a jar of water, so he ate and drank. Then he went back to sleep. ⁶ He looked and right there by his head was a cake baking on hot coals and a jug of water. He ate and drank and then slept some more. ⁶ He looked, and by his head there was a bread cake baked on hot coal, and a pitcher of water. So he ate and drank and lay down again.⁶ And he looked, and behold, there was at his head a round loaf of bread baked on hot coals, and a pitcher of water. So he ate and drank, and lay down again.⁶ And when he looked about, behold, there was a cake baken on the coles, and a pot of water at his head: so he did eate and drinke, and returned and slept.⁶ Then he looked and behold, there was at his head a bread cake baked on hot stones, and a jar of water. So he ate and drank and lay down again. ⁶ Elijah looked around, and by his head was a jar of water and some baked bread. He sat up, ate and drank, then lay down and went back to sleep. ⁶ He looked, and there by his head was a cake baked on the hot stones and a jug of water. He ate and drank, then lay down again.

⁶ And he looked, and behold, at his head was a cake, baked on hot stones, and a cruse of water. And he ate and drank, and lay down again. ⁶ Elijah looked around, and by his head there was a cake that had been baked over coals and a jar of water. He ate and drank and then went back to sleep.⁶ And he looked, and, behold, there was at his head a cake baked on the coals and a cruse of water. And he did eat and drink, and lay down again. ⁶ He looked around and saw a loaf of bread and a jar of water near his head. He ate and drank, and lay down again. ⁶ He looked, and behold, a bread cake on hot coals was near his head and a jar of water, so he ate and drank. Then he did it again and lay down. ⁶ And he looked, and behold, at his head was a cake on burning stones, and a jar of water; and he ate and drank, and turned and lay down.⁶ And he loked aboute him, & beholde, at his heade there was a bred baken on the coles, & a cruse wt water. And whan he had eaten and dronke, he layed him downe agayne to slepe. ⁶ And he looked, and, behold, there was at his head a cake baken on the ^[b]coals, and a cruse of water. And he did eat and drink, and laid him down again. ⁶ And looking up, he saw by his head a cake cooked on the stones and a bottle of water. So he took food and drink and went to sleep again.⁶ And when he loked about him, beholde there was a cake baken on the coales, and a vessell of water at his head: And he dyd eate and drinke, and layde him downe againe to sleepe.⁶ And he looked, and, behold, there was at his head a cake baked on the hot stones, and a cruse of water. And he did eat and drink, and laid him down again.⁶ And he looked, and behold, there was a cake baken on the coales, and a cruse of water at his head: and hee did eate and drinke, and laide him downe againe. ⁶ And Eliu looked, and, behold, at his head there was a cake of meal and a cruse of water; and he arose, and ate and drank, and returned and lay down. ⁶ And he looked, and, behold, there was at his head a cake baken on the coals, and a cruse of water. And he did eat and drink, and laid him down again. ⁶ And he looked around, and there by his head was a cake of bread baked over hot coals, and a jar of water. So he ate and drank and lay down again.⁶ He bihelde, and, lo! at his heed was a loof bakun vndur aischis, and a vessel of watir. Therfor he ete, and drank, and slepte eft.⁶ and he looketh attentively, and lo, at his bolster a cake [baken on] burning stones, and a dish of water, and he eateth, and drinketh, and turneth, and lieth down.⁶ And he looked and saw that there was at his head a cake baked on the coals, and a cruse of water. And he ate and drank, and laid down again.⁶ And he looked, and behold, [there was] a cake baked on the coals, and a cruse of water at his head. And he ate and drank, and laid himself down again.⁶ He looked, and, behold, there was at his head a cake baked on the coals, and a jar of water. He ate and drink, and laid him down again. ⁶ Then he looked, and there by his head was a cake baked on coals, and a jar of water. So he ate and drank, and lay down again. ⁶ He looked around and there beside his head was some bread baked on hot stones and a jar of water! So he ate and drank and lay down again. ⁶ Then Elijah looked and saw by his head a loaf of bread made ready on hot stones, and a jar of water. So he ate and drank and lay down again. ⁶ He looked, and there at his head was a cake baked on hot stones, and a jar of water. He ate and drank, and lay down again. ⁶ So he looked about, and lo! at his head, a cake baked on hot stones, and a cruse of water, - and he did eat and drink, and then went back and lay down.⁶ He looked, and behold there was at his head a hearth cake, and a vessel of water: and he ate and drank, and he fell asleep again.⁶ And he looked, and behold, there was at his head a cake baked on hot stones and a jar of water. And he ate and drank, and lay down again.⁶ and he looks attentively, and behold, at his bolster [is] a cake [on] burning stones, and a dish of water, and he eats, and drinks, and turns, and lies down.

⁶ He looked around and, to his surprise, right by his head were a loaf of bread baked on some coals and a jug of water. He ate the meal and went back to sleep.⁶ Then he looked and behold, there was at his head a bread cake baked on hot stones, and a jar of water. So he ate and drank and lay down again.⁷ Then the angel of the Lord^(C1) returned for a second time and touched him. He said, “Get up and eat, or the journey will be too much for you.”
