¹ This is the list of the Israelites, the family heads, the commanders of thousands and the commanders of hundreds, and their officers who served the king in every matter to do with the divisions that were on rotated military duty each month throughout^(F1) the year. There were 24,000 in each division:

¹ Now the children of Yisra'el after their number, [to wit], the heads of fathers' [houses] and the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and their officers who served the king, in any matter of the courses which came in and went out month by month throughout all the months of the year-of every course were twenty-four thousand.

Military Divisions

¹ This is the number of the people of Israel, the heads of fathers' houses, the commanders of thousands and hundreds, and their officers who served the king in all matters concerning the divisions that came and went, month after month throughout the year, each division numbering 24,000:

¹ This is the list of the Israelites who served the king in the army. Each division was on duty one month each year. There were leaders of families, commanders of a hundred men, commanders of a thousand men, and other officers. Each division had twenty-four thousand men.

Leaders of the Army

¹ What follows is a list of Israelite family leaders and commanders of units of a thousand and a hundred, as well as their officers who served the king in various matters. Each division was assigned to serve for one month during the year; each consisted of 24,000 men.

¹ This is the list of the sons (descendants) of Israel, the heads of fathers' households, the commanders of thousands and of hundreds, and their officers who served the king in all matters of the divisions which came in and went out month by month throughout the year, each division numbering 24,000:

¹ Now this is the number of the sons of Israel, the heads of fathers' households, the commanders of thousands and of hundreds, and their officers who served the king in all the affairs of the divisions which came in and went out month by month throughout the months of the year, each division numbering twenty-four thousand:

¹ Now the children of Israel after their number, [to wit], the heads of fathers' [houses] and the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and their officers who served the king, in any matter of the courses which came in and went out month by month throughout all the months of the year-of every course were twenty-four thousand.

¹ The children of Israel also after their nomber, euen the chiefe fathers and captaines of thousandes and of hundreths, and their officers that serued the King by diuers courses, which came & in went out, moneth by moneth throughout al the moneths of the yeere: in euery course were foure and twentie thousand.

Commanders of the Divisions

¹ Now this is the total count of the sons of Israel, the heads of fathers' households, the commanders of thousands and of hundreds, and their officers who ministered to the king in each matter of the divisions which came in and went out month by month throughout all the months of the year, each division numbering 24,000:

The Twelve Captains for Each Month

¹ This is the list of the Israelites, the heads of families, the commanders of thousands and of hundreds, and their officers who served the king in every matter concerning the divisions that were on rotating military duty each month throughout the year. There were 24,000 men in each division:

David Assigns Army Commanders

¹ Each month a group of twenty-four thousand men served as soldiers in Israel's army. These men, which included the family leaders, army commanders, and officials of the king, were under the command of the following men, arranged by the month of their service:

¹ The people of Isra'el, registered according to their clan leaders, were drafted for army duty under captains of thousands and of hundreds, and officers serving the king, in divisions of 24,000 each, for month-long terms of duty covering all the months of the year.

¹ And [these] are the children of Israel after their number, the chief fathers and captains of thousands and hundreds, and their officers that served the king in every matter of the divisions, which came in and went out month by month throughout the months of the year; in every division were twenty-four thousand.

Army Groups

¹ This is the list of the Israelites who served the king in the army. Each group was on duty one month each year. There were rulers of families, captains, generals, and the court officers who served the king. Each army group had 24,000 men.

¹ NOW the children of Israel after their number, the chiefs of the fathers and the commanders of thousands and of hundreds, and their governors who served the king in all matters of the divisions, those who came in and went out month by month throughout all the months of the year under every division were twenty-four thousand.

Military Divisions

¹ And as for the number of the Israelites,^[a] the heads of families,^[b] the commanders of thousands and hundreds, and their officials who serve the king in all matters of the working groups that came and went, month by month, throughout all the months of the year, each working group: twenty-four thousand.

¹ And the sons of Israel, according to their number, the heads of the fathers, and commanders of thousands and hundreds, and their scribes who served the king in every matter of the divisions which came in and went out month by month for allthe months of the year, the one division had twenty four thousand.

¹ This is the list of Israelite generals and captains,^[a] and their officers, who served the king by supervising the army divisions that were on duty each month of the year. Each division served for one month and had 24,000 troops.

The Captains of the Army

¹ These were the sons of Israel, the heads of fathers' houses. They were the leaders of thousands and of hundreds. These were the captains who worked for the king in anything to do with the armies which came in and went out every month of the year. There were 24,000 men in each army.

¹ This is the list of the people of Israel, the heads of families, the commanders of the thousands and the hundreds, and their officers who served the king in all matters concerning the divisions that came and went, month after month throughout the year, each division numbering twenty-four thousand:

¹ Now, the sons of Israel - as to the number of them, the ancestral chiefs - and rulers of thousands and hundreds, and their officers who waited upon the king as to any matter of the courses, who came in and went out month by month, for all the months of the year, in each course, were twenty-four thousand.

Military Organization

¹ Here is the listing of the sons of Israel by family heads, commanders and captains, and other officers who served the king in everything military. Army divisions were on duty a month at a time for the twelve months of the year. Each division comprised 24,000 men.

¹ Now this is the enumeration of the sons of Israel, the heads of fathers' households, the commanders of thousands and of hundreds, and their officers who served the king in all the affairs of the divisions which came in and went out month by month throughout all the months of the year, each division numbering 24,000:

² Jashobeam son of Zabdiel was in charge of the first division,^(C1) for the first month; 24,000 were in his division. ² Over the first course for the first month was Yashov`am the son of Zavdi'el: and in his course were twenty-four thousand.

⁴ And over the course of the second month was Dodai an Ahohite, and of his course was Mikloth also the ruler: in his course likewise were twenty and four thousand. ^4 (c)Dodai the Ahohite^[a] was in charge of the division of the second month; in his division were 24,000.

There were 24,000 in his army. ⁴ Dodai the Ahohite was in charge of the division of the second month; Mikloth was the chief officer of his division. In his division were twenty-four thousand. ⁴ And, over the course for the second month, was Dodai an Ahohite, and, of his course, was Mikloth also a chief ruler, - and, in his course, were twenty-four thousand.⁴ The company of the second month was under Dudia, an Ahohite, and after him was another named Macelloth, who commanded a part of the army of four and twenty thousand.⁴ Dodai the Aho'hite was in charge of the division of the second month; in his division were twenty-four thousand.⁴ And over the course of the second month [is] Dodai the Ahohite, and his course, and Mikloth [is] the president, and on his course [are] twenty and four thousand.⁴ And over the division of the second month [is] Dodai the Ahohite, and Mikloth [is] also president of his division, and twenty-four thousand [are] on his division.

⁵ The third army commander, as chief for the third month, was Benaiah son of the priest Jehoiada; 24,000 were in his division. ⁵ The third captain of the host for the third month was Benayah, the son of Yehoiada the Kohen, chief: and in his course were twenty-four thousand.

⁵ The third captain of the host for the third month was Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, a chief priest: and in his course were twenty and four thousand. ⁵ The third commander, for the third month, was ^(d)Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada the chief priest; in his division were 24,000.

⁵ Benaiah son of Jehoiada the priest was commander of the third division of 24,000 troops, which was on duty during the third month. ⁵ The third leader of the army for the third month was Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada the religious leader. There were 24,000 in his army. ⁵ The third commander, for the third month, was Benaiah son of the priest Jehoiada, as chief; in his division were twenty-four thousand. ⁵ The ruler of the third host, for the third month, was Benaiah, son of Jehoiada the priest - a chief, - and, in his course, were twenty-four thousand.⁵ And the captain of the third company for the third month, was Banaias the son of Joiada the priest: and in his division were four and twenty thousand.⁵ The third commander, for the third month, was Benai'ah, the son of Jehoi'ada the priest, as chief; in his division were twenty-four thousand.⁵ Head of the third host, for the third month, [is] Benaiah son of Jehoiada, the head priest, and on his course [are] twenty and four thousand.⁵ Head of the third host, for the third month, [is] Benaiah son of Jehoiada, the head priest, and twenty-four thousand [are] on his division.^5-6 Commander for the third month: Benaiah son of Jehoiada the priest with 24,000 men. This was the same Benaiah who was a Mighty Man among the Thirty and their chief. His son Ammizabad was in charge of the division.⁵ The third commander of the army for the third month was Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada the priest, as chief; and in his division were 24,000.⁶ This Benaiah was a mighty man among the Thirty and over the Thirty, and his son Ammizabad was in charge^(F1) of his division.

⁶ This is that Benayah, who was the mighty man of the thirty, and over the thirty: and [of] his course was `Ammizavad his son.

⁶ This is that Benaiah, who was mighty among the thirty, and above the thirty: and in his course was Ammizabad his son. ⁶ This is the Benaiah ^(e)who was a mighty man of the thirty and in command of the thirty; Ammizabad his son was in charge of his division.^{[b] 6} He was the Benaiah who was one of the Thirty^[a] soldiers. Benaiah was a brave warrior who led those men. Benaiah's son Ammizabad was in charge of Benaiah's division. ⁶ Benaiah was the leader of the thirty warriors and his division; his son was Ammizabad.⁶ This is the Benaiah who was the mighty man of the thirty and was in charge of the thirty; and Ammizabad his son was over his division.⁶ This Benaiah was the mighty man of the thirty, and was in charge of thirty; and over his division was his son Ammizabad.⁶ This is that Benaiah, who was the mighty man of the thirty, and over the thirty: and [of] his course was Ammizabad his son. ⁶ This Benaiah was mightie among thirtie and aboue the thirtie, and in his course was Amizabad his sonne.⁶ This Benaiah was the mighty man of the thirty, and was over thirty; and over his division was Ammizabad his son.⁶ This Benaiah was mighty among the Thirty and was over the Thirty, and his son Ammizabad was in charge of his division. ⁶ who was the leader of the Thirty Warriors, and whose son Ammizabad was also an army commander;^{[b] 6} This is the same B'nayah who was one of the thirty heroes and was over the thirty; his son ‘Ammizavad was in his division.

⁶ This Benaiah was a mighty man among the thirty, and above the thirty; and in his division was Ammizabad his son. ⁶ He was the same Benaiah who was a brave soldier from the Thirty Heroes. He led these men. His son Ammizabad was in charge of Banaiah's group.⁶ This is the Benaiah, who was mighty among the thirty, and in command of the thirty officers; and in his division was Mizbar his son.lass="passage-text">

⁶ This was Benaiah who was a mighty warrior of thirty, and over the thirty and his working group was Ammizabad his son. ⁶ He was that Benaiah who was mighty among the thirty, and above the thirty; and in his division was his son Ammizabad.⁶ This is yt Benaia the Worthie amonge thirtie and aboue thirtie, And his course was vnder his sonne Ammi Sabad. ⁶ This is that Benaiah, who was the mighty man of the thirty, and over the thirty: and of his course was Ammizabad his son. ⁶ This is the same Benaiah who was the great man of the thirty, chief of the thirty; and in his division was Ammizabad his son.⁶ This is that Banaiahu which was most mightie among thirtie, and aboue thirtie: And in his part was Amizabad his sonne.⁶ This is that Benaiah, who was the mighty man of the thirty, and over the thirty; and of his course was Ammizabad his son.⁶ This is that Benaiah, who was mightie among the thirtie, and aboue the thirty: and in his course was Amizabad his sonne. ⁶ This Banaeas was more mighty than the thirty, and over the thirty: and Zabad his son was over his division. ⁶ This is that Benaiah, who was the mighty man of the thirty, and over the thirty: and of his course was Ammizabad his son. ⁶ thilke is Bananye, the strongest among thritti, and aboue thritti; forsothe Amyzadath, his sone, was souereyn of his cumpenye.⁶ This is that Benaiah, who was the mighty man of the thirty, and over the thirty: and his course was Ammizabad his son.⁶ This [is that] Benaiah, [who was] mighty [among] the thirty, and above the thirty: and in his course [was] Ammizabad his son.⁶ This was the Benaiah who was mighty among the thirty, and was over the thirty; in his division was Ammizabad his son. ⁶ This was the Benaiah who commanded David's elite military group known as the Thirty. His son Ammizabad was his chief officer. ⁶ This is the Benaiah who was the strong man of the thirty, and leader of the thirty. Ammizabad his son was captain of his army. ⁶ This is the Benaiah who was a mighty man of the Thirty and in command of the Thirty; his son Ammizabad was in charge of his division.^{[a] 6} The same Benaiah, was a hero of thirty, and over the thirty, - and, over his course, was Ammizabad his son.⁶ This is that Banaias the most valiant among the thirty, and above the thirty. And Amizabad his son commanded his company.⁶ This is the Benai'ah who was a mighty man of the thirty and in command of the thirty; Ammiz'abad his son was in charge of his division.⁶ This Benaiah [is] a mighty one of the thirty, and over the thirty, and [in] his course [is] Ammizabad his son.⁶ This Benaiah [is] a mighty one of the thirty, and over the thirty, and his son Ammizabad [is in] his division.⁶ This Benaiah was the mighty man of the thirty, and had charge of thirty; and over his division was Ammizabad his son.

⁷ The fourth commander, for the fourth month, was Joab’s brother Asahel, and his son Zebadiah was commander after him; 24,000 were in his division.
