"If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his own father, mother, wife, children, brothers, sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be My disciple.

But Jesus called for the little ones, saying, "Allow the children to come to Me, and do not forbid them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.

And He said to them, "Truly I say to you, there is no one who has left house, or wife, or brothers, or parents, or children for the sake of the kingdom of God,

and they will level you to the ground, and throw down your children within you, and they will not leave in you one stone upon another, because you did not recognize the time of your visitation."

and they questioned Him, saying, "Teacher, Moses wrote for us that if a man's brother dies, leaving a wife, and he is childless, that his brother is to marry the wife and raise up children for his brother.

and the third married her; and in the same way all seven died, leaving no children.

But Jesus turned to them and said, "Daughters of Jerusalem, stop weeping for Me, but weep for yourselves and for your children.

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name,

They answered and said to Him, "Abraham is our father." Jesus said to them, "If you are Abraham's children, do the deeds of Abraham.

and not for the nation only, but in order that He might also gather together into one the children of God who are scattered abroad.

"Little children, I am still with you a little longer. You will look for Me; and just as I said to the Jews, now I also say to you: 'Where I am going, you cannot come.'

So Jesus said to them, "Children, you do not have any fish to eat, do you?" They answered Him, "No."

"For the promise is for you and your children and for all who are far away, as many as the Lord our God will call to Himself."

When our days there were ended, we left and started on our journey, while they all, with wives and children, escorted us until we were out of the city. After kneeling down on the beach and praying, we said farewell to one another.

and they have been told about you, that you are teaching all the Jews who are among the Gentiles to abandon Moses, telling them not to circumcise their children nor to walk according to the customs.

The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God,

and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him.

that the creation itself also will be set free from its slavery to corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God.

nor are they all children because they are Abraham's descendants, but: "THROUGH ISAAC YOUR DESCENDANTS SHALL BE NAMED."

That is, it is not the children of the flesh who are children of God, but the children of the promise are regarded as descendants.
