Gesenius' Hebrew and Chaldee Definition
שִׁמְצָה f. overthrow of enemies, see the root No. 1, Exodus 32:25. The ancient versions and the Jews take it to be, shame, contumely, compare שֵׁמַע (by change of צ and ע), but the former is alone the true meaning.
