Niph`al Perfect 1 singular נִמְּתַּלְתִּי עִם Genesis 30:8 I have wrestled (literally twisted myself) with; Participle עֲצַת נִפְתָּלִים Job 5:13 the plan of the tortuous; נִפְתָּל וְעִקֵּשׁ Proverbs 8:8 anything tortuous and twisted.
Hithpa`el Imperfect 2 masculine singular עִםֿעִקֵּשׁ תִּתְמַּתָּ֑ל Psalm 18:27 with the twisted thou dost deal tortuously = 2 Samuel 22:27 (so read for impossible תִּתַּמָּ֑ל).
פָּתַל not used in Kal. Arab. and Eth. to twist, to twine, to spin. See פָּתִיל.
Niphal
(1) to be twisted; metaph. to be crafty, deceitful, Proverbs 8:8; Job 5:13.
(2) to wrestle (which is done by twisting the limbs together), Genesis 30:8. See נַפְתּוּלִים.
