מִשְׂרָפוֹת pl. f. (from the root שָׂרַף).
(1) a burning of lime, Isaiah 33:12 (compare Genesis 11:3).
(2) the burning of dead bodies, Jeremiah 34:5 (compare 2 Chronicles 16:14).
(3) מִשְׂרְפוֹת מַיִם (“the flow of waters,” from the root שְׂרַף, Ithpe. to drop [but see Thes.]), [Misrephoth-maim], pr.n. of a town or region near Sidon, Joshua 11:8, 13:6.
