מִסְכֵּן m. (from the root סָכַן No. 4, to be poor), poor, wretched, Ecclesiastes 4:13, 9:15, 16. Arabic مَسْكِينُ, مِسكِْينُ; Ethiop. መስኪነ፡, whence a new verb መስከነ፡ to be poor, מַסְכֵּן, ܡܣܰܟܢܶ to make poor.
