 יָשִׁישׁ adjective aged, only Job (Late Hebrew once יָשִׁישִׁים old, venerable men, Levy Jastr); — absolute יָשִׁישׁ Job 15:10; plural יְשִׁישִׁים Job 32:6 2t.; — aged, as predicate adjective Job 32:6 (opposed to צָעִיר לְיָמִים); as substantive Job 15:10 ("" שָׂב); Job 29:8 (opposed to נערים); בִּישִׁישִׁים חָכְמָה Job 12:12 among aged men is wisdom ("" אֹרֶח יָמִים תְּבוּנָה).

Gesenius' Hebrew and Chaldee Definition

יָשִׁישׁ m. an old man, properly hoary, (from the root יָשֵׁשׁ); a word altogether poetic, Job 12:12, 15:10 29:8 32:6. In the cognate languages these correspond to this ܘܰܫܝܺܫܐܳ, قِسِّيسُ the letter י being changed into the hardest of the palatals (see under the letter ).
