יָשִׁישׁ m. an old man, properly hoary, (from the root יָשֵׁשׁ); a word altogether poetic, Job 12:12, 15:10 29:8 32:6. In the cognate languages these correspond to this ܘܰܫܝܺܫܐܳ, قِسِّيسُ the letter י being changed into the hardest of the palatals (see under the letter ).
