 I. [בָּרִיחַ] adjective fleeing ( = בַּרִּיחַ ֗֗֗ ) נָחָשׁ בִָּ˜רחַ׃ Job 26:13 of eclipse-dragon, לִוְיָתָן נָחָשׁ בָרִחַ Isaiah 27:1 (probably figurative of Assyrians); as substantive בָּרִיחִים Isaiah 43:14 as fugitives (for other views compare Comm.); so probably also Isaiah 15:5 בריחיה, see בְּרִיחַ.

Gesenius' Hebrew and Chaldee Definition

בָּרִחַ Isaiah 27:1; Job 26:13, and בָּרִיחַ pl. בָּרִיחִים Isaiah 43:14 (for בַּרִיחַ, of the form צַדִּיק).

(1) one who flees, a fugitive, Isaiah 43:14 also fleeing, an epithet of the serpent, both of the real creature, Isaiah 27:1 and of the constellation, Job 1:1.
