run together so as to meet in battle, encounter, Πηνέλεως δὲ Λύκων τε συνέδραμον Il. 16.335; ξιφέεσσι ς. ib. 337; εἰς τὰς χεῖρας ς. Plb. 2.33.5; ς. εἰς χεῖράς τινι Plu. Art. 7: metaph., εἰπὲ τῷ μόρῳ ξυντρέχει say with what death she has met, S. Tr. 880 (lyr.).

2. assemble, gather together, Hdt. 8.71; ἐς τὴν ὁδόν Id. 2.121. δ ; εἰς τὴν ἐκκλησίαν Lycurg. 16; run up to the rescue, Plu. 3. concur, agree, ἀμφοτέρων ἐς τὠυτὸ αἱ γνῶμαι συνέδραμον Hdt. 1.53; συντρέχειν τοῖς κριταῖς concur in the choice of judges, X. Cyr. 8.2.27; μηκέτι τῆς βουλήσεως συνδραμούσης Alex.Aphr. de An. 73.2.

4. of lines, run together, meet, εἰς μίαν βάσιν E. Fr. 382.12: metaph., δεῖ τινα τέσσαρα συνδραμεῖν εἰς οἴκου σύστασιν Arist. Fr. 182; κατὰ τὴν πρόθεσιν αὐτῷ συντρεχόντων τῶν πραγμάτων Plb. 3.43.11.

5. concur, coincide, of points of time, εἰ μὴ τέρμα συντρέχοι βίου A. Fr. 362; τοῦ.. χρόνου τὸ μῆκος αὐτὸ ς. exactly coincides, E. 1. to run together: of the gathering of a multitude of people, ἐκεῖ, Mark 6:33; πρός τινα, Acts 3:11.

2. to run along with others; metaphorically, to rush with i. e. cast oneself, plunge, 1 Peter 4:4. (Compare: ἐπισυντρέχω.)
