συγκατατίθημι (T WH συνκατατιθημι (cf. σύν, II. at the end)): middle, present participle συγκατατιθεμενος or perfect participle συγκατατεθειμένος (see below); to deposit together with another; middle properly, to deposit one's vote in the urn with another (ψῆφον τιθέναι, hence, to consent to, agree with, vote for: τῇ βουλή καί τῇ πράξει τίνος, Luke 23:51 (here L marginal reading T Tr marginal reading WH marginal reading present participle; others have perfect participle). (Exodus 23:1, 32; Plato, Gorgias, p. 501 c., Isaeus, Demosthenes, Polybius, Josephus, Plutarch, others.)

Vocabulary of the Greek NT

συναρπάζω, as a perfective of ἁρπάζω, denotes ";seize and keep a firm bold of"; in Luke 8:29 (see Proleg. p. 113) : cf. PSI IV. 353.12 (B.C. 254–3) συναρπά [ζε ]ι ̣ τὸν φυλακίτην, and P Masp III. 67295.5 (Byz.) συναρπάζειν τὰ ἰάσ ̣[ιμα τῶν ἀδεκ ]α ̣στων.

For the meaning ";seize and carry away,"; as in Acts 27:15, see P Ryl II. 119.28 (A.D. 54–67) κατὰ πᾶν οὖν συνηρπασμένοι ὑπὸ τούτου, ";we have therefore been robbed on every side by this man"; (Edd.). The subst. συναρπαγή is found in a deed of sale Archiv iii. p. 418.16 (vi/A.D.) δίχα π ]αντὸς δόλου καὶ φόβου καὶ βίας. . . καὶ περιγραφῆς πάσης καὶ συναρ ̣[παγῆς : cf. P Lond 77.7 (vi/A.D.) (= I. p. 232).
