For this verb ";reign together"; (1 Corinthians 4:8, 2 Timothy 2:12) cf. Polyb. xxx. 2. 4 κατὰ μὲν τὸ παρὸν συμβασιλεύει τ᾽ ἀδελφῷ. Mention is made of συμβασιλισταί, apparently members of a royal military union (cf. Preisigke Fachwörter s.v. βασιλισταί), in an inscr. addressed to Ptolemy III., published in Archiv v. p. 158.
