Vocabulary of the Greek NT
Apart from the Gospels (Mark 5:22, Luke 8:41) this name is found in the Greek Bible in Esther 2:5 Μαρδοχαῖος ὁ τοῦ Ιαείρου. A similar form occurs in Wilcken Ostr 1231 (Thebes—Ptol.) Θεόδωρος καὶ Ἀβαιοῦς καὶ Σκύμνος Ἰαείρῃ χα (ίρειν).
