נָגַח fut. יִגַּח to push, strike with the horn, used of horned animals, Exodus 21:28, 31 Exodus 21:31, 32 Exodus 21:32. (This root is onomatopoetic. The idea of striking, or pushing, lies both in the syllable נג, נכ, compare נָגַע, נָגַף, נָגַן, נָגַל; and also in the other which ends in ח compare נָבַח to bark, properly to push, strike, as כָּלִב, נָדַח and نطح to push with the horn.)
Piel id., Ezekiel 34:21; Daniel 8:4 used figuratively of a victor, who prostrates the nations before him, Deuteronomy 33:17; 1 Kings 22:11; Psalms 44:6. Hence
