Qal Imperfect 3 masculine plural יִרְכְּסוּ (P) Exodus 28:28, וַיִּרְכְּסוּ Exodus 39:21, bind חשֶׁן by (מִן) its rings to (אֶל) rings of ephod.
רָכַס to bind, to bind on, Exodus 28:28, 39:21. Arab. زَكَسَ id., e.g. cattle in a stall. Hence
רֶכֶס, only in pl. רְכָסִים bound up places, i.e. rough, rugged, difficult to pass, Isaiah 40:4. Abulwalid in Lex. MS. at Oxford, ascribes to the root רָכַס the same signification as the syn. شدّ to bind, also to be hard, calamitous, and he renders רְכָסִים by الشديدة الواضع hard places, i.e. difficult of transit, and רֻכְסֵי אִישׁ (Psalms 31:21), شدايد i.e. calamities, adverse circumstances.
