 [רָטַשׁ] verb Pi`el dash in pieces (compare ᵑ7רְטַשׁ cast away, reject; but possibly akin to לָטַשׁ); —

Pi`el Imperfect 2 masculine singular תְּרַטֵּשׁ 2 Kings 8:12 their children thou will dash in pieces; 3 feminine plural קְשָׁתוֺתנְעָרִים תְּרַטַּשְׁנָה Isaiah 13:18, but probably corrupt, Du conjecture נְעָרוֺת תְּרֻטַּשְׁנָה compare Che.

Pu`al Perfect 3 feminine singular אֵם עַלֿבָּנִים רֻטָּ֑שָׁה Hosea 14:14; Imperfect 3 masculine plural יְרֻטְּשׁוּ Isaiah 13:16; Nahum 3:10, יְרֻטָּ֑שׁוּ Hosea 14:1, all of children.

Gesenius' Hebrew and Chaldee Definition

רָטַשׁ only found in Piel, to break in pieces; specially to dash, to kill (children) by dashing against a rock, i.q. נִפַּץ (Psalms 137:9); 2 Kings 8:12 (see Pual); also, to dash down with arrows, to prostrate, Isaiah 13:18.

Pual, pass. to be dashed against a rock, and so killed, Isaiah 13:16; Hosea 10:14, 14:1 Nahum 3:10.
