Qal Perfect 3 masculine singular רָזָה Zephaniah 2:11 object false gods, apparently make lean (ᵑ9 attenuavit; ᵐ5 is ἐξολεθρύσει), but sense strange, < רִזָּה (see Arabic above), yet even this very doubtful.
Niph`al be made lean, Imperfect 3 masculine singular מִשְׁמַן בְּשָׂרוֺ יֵרָזֶה Isaiah 17:4.
רָזָה pr. to spread out, to make thin and lean, hence to consume, to destroy (comp. Arab. رزأ to suffer from ills, calamity). Zephaniah 2:11. (The primary idea appears to me to be that of scraping, scraping away; so that the roots גָּרַד, חָרַשׁ, would be kindred, which see; and also Lat. rado. Arab. intrans. رَذِىَ to be emaciated, enfeebled.)
Niphal, to become lean, to waste away, Isaiah 17:4.
