קָבַב kindred to the roots גָּבַב, כָּוָה No. II, to make gibbous and hollow
(1) i.q. נָקַב to hollow out; hence also, to arch, to vault (comp. גָּבַב, כָּוַו = כָּוָה) i.q. Arab. قَبَّ Conj. II, Ch. קַבֵּב. Hence קַב, קֻבָּה.
(2) metaph, i.q. נָקַב No. 3 (which see), to curse, to execrate (prop. to pierce, to perforate). Hence pret. inf. and imp. Numbers 23:8, seq. Imp. with suff. and Nun epenth, קָבְנוֹ Numbers 23:13.
