עִי (for עֱוִי, from the root עָוָה, to overturn, to destroy), pl. עִיִּים m.
(1) ruins, ruinous heaps, Micah 1:6; Jeremiah 26:18; Micah 3:12; Psalms 79:1 comp. מְעִי.
(2) עִיִּים Numbers 33:45, and more fully עִיִּי הָעֲבָרִים verse 44 Numbers 33:44, 21:11 (“the ruinous heaps of mount Abarim”), [Ije-abarim], a part of mount Abarim.
(3) עִיִּים [Iim], a town of the tribe of Judah, Joshua 15:29.
