Pi`el Perfect 3 masculine singular עִוֵּר 2 Kings 25:7, with עֵינֵי put out the eyes of = Jeremiah 39:7 = Jeremiah 52:11; Imperfect 3 masculine singular יְעַוֵּר figurative, Exodus 23:8 (E) a bribe blindeth, with accusative of person (⅏ᵐ5 insert עֵינֵי); Deuteronomy 16:19, with עֵינֵי.
עָוַר not used in Kal. Eth. ዐዊር፡ to be blind. Arab. عَوِرَ and عَارَ to be blind of an eye.
Piel עִוֵּר to blind, to make blind. (Syr. ܥܰܘܪܰ In its origin perhaps עִוִּרִ is the same as עִפֵּר to cast dust, sand, chaff into the eye; compare Chald. עוּר.) 2 Kings 25:7; Jeremiah 39:7.
