עֲבַר Chald. i.q. Hebr. עֵבֶר No. 1, region beyond; hence עֲבַר נַהֲרָא the region beyond the Euphrates, according to the Persian manner of speaking, i.e. the region west of the Euphrates, Ezra 4:10, 11 Ezra 4:11, 16 Ezra 4:16, 20 Ezra 4:20, 5:3 6:6, Ezra 6:8, 13 Ezra 6:13, 7:21, 25 Ezra 7:25.
