Qal Participle וְנֹצְצִים כְּעֵין נְחשֶׁת Ezekiel 1:7 (of cherubim); — Perles Anal.45 proposes נוֺצִיצָם their plumage (׳נ "" form of נוֺצָה), compare Ew.
נָצַץ i.q. נוּץ
(1) to shine, to glitter, only found Ezekiel 1:7 whence נִיצוֹץ a spark.
(2) to flower, to flourish (as in Ch.); whence נֵץ, נִצָּה, נִצָּן a flower. (Verbs which signify shining are transferred to the meaning of verdure and bloom, as has been shewn by many examples in Simonis Arcanum Formarum, page 352; comp. זָהָה, זִו.) The idea of blossoming is farther transferred to the feathers and pinions of birds, as growing out (comp. פָּרַח); whence
(3) to fly (compare פָּרַח to sprout, Syr. to fly); whence נֵץ hawk; comp. the kindred נָצָא, נָצָה to fly.
