מַחֲלָף m. a slaughter-knife, once in plur. מַחֲלָפִים Ezra 1:9. Syr. ܚܠܦܳܙܳ Rabbin. חִלּוּף a knife, from the root ܚܰܠܦܶ to shave the hair, pr. i.q. הֶעֱבִיר to make a razor pass over.
