מֶגֶד m. something very precious or noble. Deuteronomy 33:13, מֶגֶד שָׁמַיִם “the precious things of heaven,” i.e. (as immediately follows) rain, dew. Deuteronomy 33:14, מֶגֶד תְּבוּאוֹת שֶׁמֶשׁ “the precious things put forth by the sun.” Deuteronomy 33:15, 16 Deuteronomy 33:16. Song of Solomon 4:13, פְּרִי מְגָדִים “most precious fruits.” Song of Solomon 4:16, and even without פְרִי, 7:14, בָּל־מְגָדִים “all most precious things,” fruits are intended. Vulg. everywhere poma. (Syr. ܡܰܓܕܐܳ dried fruit.)
