יָפֶה adj. m., constr. יְפֵה; f. יָפָה constr. יְפַת
(1) fair, beautiful, used of persons, both men and women, Genesis 12:14; 2 Samuel 13:1, 14:25 Song of Solomon 1:8, 5:9 often with the addition of מַרְאֶה 1 Samuel 17:42 or תֹּאַר Genesis 29:17 also used of animals, 41:2, seq.; of pleasant countries, Psalms 48:3 of a pleasant tuneful voice, Ezekiel 33:32.
(2) good, excellent, καλός. Ecclesiastes 3:11, “God made all things beautiful;” καλῶς, 5:17.
