זַמְזֻמִּים proper name, of a people said to be a name given toרְפָאִים by the Ammonites who dispossessed them Deuteronomy 2:20 (compare Arabic talk gibberish?), ᵐ5 Ζοχομμιν, Ζομζομμειν, and Ζομμειν (so ᵐ5 L); compare Genesis 14:5 זוּזִים q. v. (ᵐ5 ἔθνη ἰσχυρά).

זַמְזֻמִּים masc. pl. (“tribes making a noise”), [Zamzummims], prop. name of a nation of giants, anciently dwelling within the borders of the Ammonites, but extinct even before the time of Moses, Deuteronomy 2:20. Comp. זוּזִים.
